Ordered the bored of lunch book on the 6th of January and still haven't recieved any book, total scam. Tried phoning, the phone line isn't in use and emailed with no reply, do not use

Sent a digital copy. No, where did it say digital until they sent me the confirmation email

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE.
They ask for delivery address and send you a downloadable copy .
I contacted them straight away paid for two copies which was a mistake and was sent one link to download . Who wants to read a receipt book on an iPhone !
Their answer was WE DONT REFUND ON DOWNLOADS .
Wish I had read the reviews sooner .
Anyway I contacted my bank who have refunded my money .

Hi Bought bored of lunch book, thinking it was a book after a week I haven't received a physical book and they will not answer the phone or emails. The email receipt gives me an option to download the book electronically, which is not what was advertised. I think I have been scammed!!! AVOID

I am not clear why this company has not been shut down! I purchased a cookery book from the website - it came up at the top of Google and appeared a good deal. As per other reviews (which I have only now seen!) - turns out it was a PDF but it does not say this on the website and asks for your shipping address, etc. No response from the company as of yet. Clearly this is in breach of consumer rights law!

Edit: if everyone could do the following in order to get the website taken down that would be good to stop others being scammed
1. Report false advertising to Google (on the left - click the three lines - send feedback)
2. Raise a case on the Resolver website
3. Report to Trading Standards (simple form on the Citizens Advice website)
4. Report to the Advertising Standards Authority (simple form on website)
I am looking into whether this is reportable to the police and will update when I find out

I have been repeatedly on their case since posting my review and have finally been refunded. Report them to trading standards via Citizens Advice. Hopefully they’ll get closed down

I too was scammed.
I ordered two copies of Bored of Lunch Slowcooker Cookbook for presents and received one digital copy which couldn’t be opened.
When I asked for a refund I was told strictly no refund policy but they took a delivery address when I placed the order.
I told them they are scamming innocent people.
I reported to my credit card company and also told the company I had seeked legal advice and was told they were obliged to give me a full refund. I emailed constantly for 5 days and eventually they must’ve got sick of me and I got a full refund.
Don’t let them keep your money - keep on and on and on until they tire and refund you.
I also wrote a review on their website warning others to read the reviews on trust pilot before they buy but surprise surprise my review hasn’t appeared 🤷‍♀️

Fraudsters. Purchased what I thought was a physical book as it did not state anywhere it was an ebook. Wouldn’t refund my money. Use another company is my advice.

Complete scam. Provides no notice of digital download required by trading standards / consumer rights law. I also believe this to be a breach of the legislation around reselling ebooks which is illegal.

Digital download! Format was not mentioned at point of sale.

Scam - all digital even if they state hardcover - found a solution elsewhere: you can get a refund by raising a complaint with a company called Resolver

I have fallen for this too. I have reported to Google and to the national cyber security centre. And have shared on all of my social book groups and to pinch of nom themselves. I am so angry I’ve been fooled. Like everyone else nowhere states digital download.

Please report to anywhere you can.

I’ve also succumbed to being scammed as stated below I thought this was an actual book and asked me to confirm postal address leading me to believe I was receiving this via post!!! I’ve emailed them but I think this needs to be taken further as a lot of people have been in the same position!! Very dodgy and misleading!!!

Ordered a book which i believed to be a book sent in the post. Nothing to say it was a digital download! No refund offered. Qnd basically I can't use it was we don't own devices accept phones, and its a 270 page recipe book!!! What a waste of money

Ordered what I thought was a book, then told it's a digital book, asked for a refund and told no refunds on digital book. Nowhere in description does it tell you that you will not get an actual book. Will never use them again.

Absolute scam, I thought I was buying a box set of books but they reckon they have sent me them as digital downloads. I’ve had contact with the company explaining that’s not what I bought but they simple said they can not refund a digital download. Avoid at all costs.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. They pretend to be a reputable company, but are nothing but a scam outfit. Unfortunately, they come up regularly on Google searches for hardback/paperback books and entice buyers with low prices. Their website doesn't mention ANYWHERE you are not buying an actual, real book and even ask you to confirm the shipping address and advise regarding delivery times, just to email you a dodgy pdf version they expect you to download. To add insult to injury, you'll have a real fight on your hands to get the transaction cancelled. Alarm bells should ring considering they will not accept PayPal transfer, but insist on card payments. Do not give up. Contact your card issuer, involve Resolver and report them to Trading Standards and Action Fraud. Also let Google know they are facilitating fraud on their platform. Outfits like that need to get eradicated.

Their website advertised a box set of books with a photo of the set. Nothing suggested that it was a non refundable download. Got an email from a Google email address saying I had bought a download only and this was in the order email.

Questioned where it stated that it was download only and just got a reply ignoring the question but stating it was a download.

Checked reviews on here to find that everyone had been conned either in this way or not receiving goods, and that their website was fake and instead was a person in Lithuania.

Had to block my credit card and get a new one in case the scam was also capable of using the information they got to take money out.

As with everyone else if i could leave the stars blank i would. I ordered the complete boxset of Bridgerton books thinking i was getting paperbacks as nothing on the site said otherwise only to find an email with digital download link. Not what i wanted like with others on here after being told digital sales were final and no refund would be given i threatened to contact trading standards and my bank and they have now said they will issue me with a refund. This will be the last time i order from a company i don't know before checking their reviews. Once bitten twice shy
