Flying with them is like being in a…

Flying with them is like being in a horror movie. Are flight was to leave at 755 on a Sunday morning. I got home after a busy day at work at 6:05 in the evening on the Saturday before the flight. I quickly tried to check in as I had just got the email. I was able to do it for three of the six people in our party. We had a very small window of time to do it. Unfortunately the other three we could not check. We got the kids up early and left for the airport and got there two and a half hours before the flight. This was very early in the morning. Because we were 7 minutes over the 2 hour limit, the queue was very long, the charged us to print two of the boarding passes. 110 quid down the drain. After repeated attempts they kept saying you were supposed to have cleared your cash and use other devices. We had done that but to know avail.we also tried to contact them all throughout the 12-hour window of when we could, supposedly, get the kids checked in on the app but everything was conveniently closed. I have contacted all of their customer service avenues since then and they keep copying and pasting b******* answers in. If at all possible we will avoid flying with them in the future unless of course we get refunded which I doubt very much.

Paid Extra, Got Worse Service

I only flew Ryanair because the person I was traveling with insisted it was a good cheap option for a short flight. It ended up being a confirmation of all I knew about low cost airlines.
We were both charged €75 each for our carry-on luggage because the bags were apparently a centimeter too thick. What made this hilarious is that I have used the same carry-on bag all over the world with many airlines without ever having an issue, so it did not even occur to me that it would be a problem here. The bag obviously fit perfectly in the overhead bin on the plane after we boarded haha.
We had also paid extra for priority boarding, but after this luggage issue they left us on the side and we ended up boarding last anyway. Paying extra and then not receiving the service you paid for is so embarassing, at least take my money faster and allow me to use all I paid for.
This happened in Vienna, Austria with some blonde lady and the whole experience felt less like reasonable enforcement of baggage rules and more like a cash-grubbing tactic that is inconsistently applied at the discretion of staff. I did not even argue then, I was more amused and appalled, and I hope the experience was enough to finally make my friend also avoid Ryanair in the future.

Will disregard passenger safety & rights

We paid for extra luggage. Flight attendant named Dacia refused to allow us to put our backup up, insisting that it must go under seat. This obstructed row as I was in the isle seat, and necessitated that I hold my purse in my lap during takeoff and landing, endangering my fellow passengers' lives. Untrained flight attendants = dangerous airline!

First time using ryanair

First time using ryanair, worried after all the bad pressure but wasn't needed.
Staff in Manchester greeted us on baggage and gate warmly. Flight crew friendly.
On time , bags out quickly and returning from Spain straight forward again great service on board and on the ground.
No issues with bags average backpack is fine.

Paid for additional bags ... twice!

Paid for additional bags, didn't realise the version i paid for was hold bags rather than cabin bags but the size and weight of bags paid for was exactly the same.
Despite that they exploited the opportunity to hit me with an additional charge on top of what I had already paid in extra charges of £120!! This is despite the fact that I actually carried these additional bags all the way through the airport and delivered them to the plane where they then put them in the hold. So it cost them less to handle them, and they still charged a lot more!!! Properly opportunistic!

Ryan Air Policy . A sign of the times

Ryan Air now makes people pay extra charges for people to sit together. They dress this up as allowing you to choose your seat. If you elect not to pay extra, they make sure you are placed well apart even if there are empty seats. Just repeated this experience. Its a bad policy. It simply communicates the mgt dont care about customer satifaction . Their soke interest is in squeezing every last buck out of you.. So typical of tjus ingratious age we are currently living through. Given a choice, take the other carrier every time...

Fairly straightforward.

Recent trip Manchester to Milan & return.
The outbound flight was on time, no issues with bags(did choose priority to enable on board case)staff friendly & efficient, no complaints. Would be 5 star for that leg of trip.
Return journey was delayed for 30 mins, which in itself wasn't too bad as we made up most of time over flight but the difficulty was being herded into a queue to stand for 30 mins when they knew we were delayed (I could see that on flight radar tho we weren't told).
I'm a healthy 70 year old but standing still for 30 mins is not good on my back. Thank goodness it wasn't a hot day.
I can see that they needed us to be ready to board asap but some info would have been polite. Otherwise no issues
However there were no other issues

Lies about reimbursement

We all know, what low fare means. So I usually think, RyanAir is not too bad a s a low fare airline.
My flight was cancelled due to bad weather and the RyanAir help desk told us to book our own hotels and that we will get reimbursed.

The whole plane did so and now it turns out, we will not get any money for our overnight stay in Dublin. I strongly advise anyone in a similar situation to contact FlightRight.

Krakow to Italy

Krakow to Italy
Got to airport 3 hours early, 710pm was told we would get our gate number.
Finally got gate number 3.
Waited til 810 for boarding but the screen said gate closed. Refreshed website and said they closed gate 3 minutes early and also changed gate from 3 to 10.
No announcements and no name call.

The other issue was that they separated our family of 3, they expect our child to sit 2 rows back with strangers.

Worst experience, no help from staff to get us on another plane to get home. We are stuck with no accommodation or way to get home.

Don't recommend, will never recommend.

This is one of the worst airlines I've ever flown with. The prices are very cheap, but at the gate they become exorbitant because you're more incompetent than you can imagine. EasyGet is a thousand times better; their prices are more reasonable and consistent.
