They don’t clearly tell you the requirements for making a claim before you pay. It is important to know that as you won’t be able to make a claim without for example the delivery labels (I had the courier print them but wouldn’t off if I'd known), images of all the items in the original packaging etc etc.
It would be so easy for them to list those requirements before taking payment but they choose not to

Compensation after damaged shipment of goods
Dear Secursus team. We have to leave a review about their insurance company here because we want to do. And this is a thoroughly positive review. Cause: We sold a coffee machine. This was sent with a shipping service provider. However, the protection in the event of damage was only given with a maximum of 750 €. Since the coffee machine had a new value of almost 3000 €, we were looking for additional insurance and found it at Secursus. The insurance we took out, which we took out after registration and payment by credit card, should soon prove to be spot on.
Secursus has transparently pointed out that they impose certain conditions before settling claims. These are, for example, proper packaging. Invisible inscriptions on the packaging, which indicates the value of the contents. Documentation of the goods before and during packaging by means of photos or videos and a delivery at a secure collection point. These are demands that seem reasonable and are also easy to provide. When the parcel was handed in, this was also documented and recorded.
At the buyer's doorstep, however, the coffee machine actually arrived slightly defective. Fortunately, only on the outer panelling. This was obviously pushed inwards by a strong lateral impact, damaged the outer lining of the machine, but then (since the cardboard was additionally reinforced) almost jumped back into the starting position. As a result, the buyer did not immediately recognize the obvious damage and unpacked the package. Only then did he discover the damage. Before the transport service provider was contacted, we obtained a cost estimate for a replacement side panel. This offer was then sent to the transport service provider with the claim for damages. However, he refused to settle the claim because he did not see any fault on the part of himself or an employee.
Regulatory process: As a result, Secursus was contacted and the damage was described. After submission (upload of documents) there was a chat history that was short, concise, factual, but absolutely friendly. Since, in addition to theft or loss, Secursus can also cause damage
insured and the course of the damage was plausible and comprehensible, a short time later the promise was made that the damage would be paid in the amount of the spare parts procurement. A little later, the refund was also booked in the account. We can only advise anyone who needs or wants to ship goods of not inconsiderable value to deal with this insurance. For us, Secursus is absolutely trustworthy and reliable and keeps its promises. The only small problem that could possibly arise for only German-speaking customers is the communication in English. But with the very good translation programs on the net, this is not really a problem.

Very good service, excellent for shipping international items when Royal Mail can only insure up to £250. I have insured many parcels with them but had to claim twice now after Royal Mail lost them Secursus settled the claim both times. Very friendly communication & they always reply very quickly. Please make sure you read all the terms & conditions before sending an item because it is very important that you follow them if you need to make a claim. If unsure ask them & they will give you the advice. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely fantastic start to finish
Absolutely fantastic start to finish. Had a nightmare with Parcelforce after they broke a guitar I sent. Secursus were great from the moment I contacted them. I had some issues with PF incompetence which lead to delays in me being able to progress the claim through Secursus. They went above and beyond by helping to settle the claim without being any further delayed by Parcelforce.
There is a list of things you need to send them but all in the name of fraud prevention. Just give Secursus what they ask for and if genuine you’ll get paid out.

Had a parcel worth over £800 lost by DPD but had insured it with secursus.
I had to wait three additional weeks after DPD admitted they were at fault before Secursus would pay out. To their credit they contacted me after the 3 weeks to ask for my bank details, but expect this delay if you use them. Also, read the Terms and Conditions, as having photo proof your items were double boxed is a requirement of their cover. All in all I'd use them again.

We have used Secursus a couple of times and will continue to do so. The premium is reasonable for high value items and simple to understand.
We had to make a small claim against the second shipment (broken glass on a picture frame). This was not covered by ParcelForce but the claim was processed quickly and without fuss.
I use Secursus for insuring…
I use Secursus for insuring international packages. Unfortunately needed to make my first claim due to a parcel damaged in transit (dropped from height with impact damage one end). I put in a partial claim as some items were undamaged. The claims process took approx a week to be approved and the payout received.
Make sure you are aware of your obligations to use their insurance to avoid issues. Packages need to be packed and labelled in a certain way to minimise the risk of damage/theft, and I had to provide a lot of evidence and documents as part of the claim: photos of the individual items before packaging, photo of the labelled package ready for shipping, closeup of the shipping label, claim correspondence to/from the postal carrier regarding the damage/claim, photos of the damaged box and contents as received and the packaging materials used to protect the contents, etc. Luckily I had these, though in future will take better photos targeted for this purpose in case required, as what I had was just for my records.

Excellent service for small businesses like mine who need a higher level of insurance than Royal Mail can provide for overseas parcels. Very reasonably priced for the cover you get. I have been using this company for about a year now, I recently had to make a claim for a lost item & Secursus settled the claim within 10 days. Just make sure you follow all their guidelines before packaging & sending a parcel. I would highly recommend using them, easy process to insure & piece of mind.

Really impressed with the account manager I spoke with. Needed to contact them thinking I’d made a mistake but they were able to explain things and reassured me that I will still covered.
Dropped Parcel
I insured a heavy parcel which was dropped in transit by a well-known courier. The contents were bent beyond repair. The courier paid out and, after I had uploaded a lot of documents, so did Secursus, covering the part of the claim not included in the courier's basic cover. My only niggle was that I didn't know, at the time of purchasing the insurance, what photos, documents, etc. I would need to make a claim (and there are many). I'm sure all would have been clear in the Ts&Cs, but no-one reads those. It would have been good to have the list included with the "Thank you for insuring with us" e-mail, after purchase. It was only by good luck I had most of what was needed, when it came to the claim. Secursus were understanding, however, and were happy with some less-than-perfect documentation.

This is a scammer company!!
This is a scammer company!!! I insured many packages with them and when I had the first claim after more than one year, they didn't settle the claim. This is a warning to everybody thinking about using secursus as an insurance company. Please do yourself a favor and don't do it!!!
Update 11.11.2023: Now they even deleted my Account on Secursus and I can't login anymore!

I have been using Secursus for both national and international high value shipments for a few years - I had to make my first claim as Parcelforce damaged a parcel, and Secursus were very helpful (much more helpful than the courier company I booked parcleforce through!) and paid for the claim quickly. Great claims experience
I've used Secursus many times to insure valuable international shipments. Recently I had to make my first ever claim after UPS damaged an item. I was very pleased with the whole claims process and the settlement by Secursus. I'd rather that UPS hadn't caused the damage, but I will happily use Secursus again with confidence.

Excellent Service!
I've used Secursus several times for insuring valuable items being sent internationally and have always found the process very straight forward. I recently had to make a claim after the courier company I used completely damaged some of the items before even leaving the UK!
I'm so impressed with the level of service Secursus provide and the quick response to any queries I had. Once all the relevant paperwork was submitted, my claim was processed and paid out.
I would definitely recommend reading and following all the instructions for sending a parcel, as well the requirements/paperwork that would be needed should you have to make a claim.
