Received clearly used item, worrying quality control issues
Having made 5 online purchases at this store before, I'd only ever had positive experiences. Unfortunately, my last purchase has left a really sour taste in my mouth and I don't think I'll be shopping here again.
I purchased a pair of very expensive sunglasses for myself as a one-off birthday treat, using a discount voucher in the process. To be fair to Sevenstore, the glasses were dispatched the next day and arrived the day after, very prompt service all in all.
Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Upon opening the package it was immediately clear that the glasses had been used and returned previously. The packaging was dented and practically fell open before I even touched it. Two tamper proof seals had clearly already been broken, with one just lying loose in the box still. The glasses themselves were covered in grubby fingerprints on the lenses, and the frame was caked in dead skin cells. It was clear from a momentary glance that these glasses weren't just tried on and returned, they'd been worn for weeks before being returned.
Sevenstore customer service is unfortunately quite slow at responding to you. All correspondence has to be done over email or live chat, neither of which are great. Thankfully the item is classed as faulty so the farcical £2 return fee is being waived, but that's not much consolation on such an expensive purchase.
I have serious concerns about the quality control processes of this business, for such a clearly used and abused product to have been accepted as a return and then packaged up again to be sold as 'new' to me. To top it off, I now have to send off this item and wait for a refund, with no information as to what will happen to them and if the same issues will just be passed down to another misfortunate consumer.
As well as this, the promo code that I used on my order is now invalid as it's already been used, and Sevenstore have had an interest free loan from me while they palm me off with disgusting used products.
To anyone considering purchasing online from this business - I would seriously reconsider. Their returns quality control is clearly below par, if at all existent. I would feel dirty wearing any other products from them, as they clearly accept used products back from people before packaging them up and sending them back out as new.
I was offered no compensation for my inconvenience, no discount code to replace the now invalid one, and no solution other than a refund, leaving me back in square one. If you are considering buying a pair of Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses in Black, please do not purchase! They have very likely been worn, yet Sevenstore will happily sell them to you at full retail price.

We also offered to fast-track your refund once you provided proof of postage, rather than waiting for the item to be received and processed by our warehouse.
Please be assured that all returned items are subject to inspection, and we take feedback regarding product quality and returns processes very seriously. We have shared your concerns with the relevant teams for review.
We appreciate that this does not change the inconvenience caused, and we sincerely apologise that the item you received fell below the standards we aim to provide.
