Awful firm
Awful firm, consignment was not delivered due to nobody being present at the property, even though two days prior I'd left a note on the delivery details to state it would be fine and at my own risk to leave the item at the rear of my property. This was completely ignored and when trying to let SGS awate of this, they told me that the courier needs confirmation from SGS to leave consignments without signature. Nowhere in the courier emails or SGS order emails does it state a signature is paramount upon delivery, so even after trying to make the courier aware prior to delivery, my note was ignored and I'm now to pay 5x the price of the original delivery to have it redelivered with SGS's 'seal of approval' to leave it at the property when I'm not in. However, I've had a separate item delivered from FedEx today from SGS which has been left at the rear of my property, to which SGS's response was- 'they shouldn't have done that'
Terrible. Beware future customers if you work a day job like most hard working folk.

Shame SGS, you are the definition of "shot in foot", i recently took on a garage that will be fully kitted out with everything needed to work on cars. recommended by someone i went to SGS with a view to order £1000s, I firstly ordered a cabinet set at £999, this with the extreme £60 delivery charge came to just over £1000. the set gets delivered, the VERY NEXT DAY SGS suddenly reduce the price by £300! - yes £300. Obviously this is a kick in teeth.
When i spoke to SGS questioning this, they basically told me to "get lost" and wouldn't accept a return, didn't offer any coupons, didn't offer any refund, passed me around a terrible support ticket system and generally didn't offer any customer support what so ever for a disgruntled customer. Just stating the "prices always change" - i find this very convenient when i had actually watched this set on the website for 3 weeks prior and the price NEVER changed. I have discovered that they use a plugin (that knows you have stuff in your "basket" on website, so they waited till i purchased to do this)
SGS Mechanics 6 Drawer Tool Box Chest & Roller Cabinet STC300
Ordered a tool cabinet "SGS Mechanics 6 Drawer Tool Box Chest & Roller Cabinet STC300", on offer at £109.99. I hadhunted around to find a tool cabinet at a reasonable price, but nothing came close to this.
The quality is excellent. I was impressed with the lining of each drawer, the locking mechanism and the overall sturdiness of the unit. I've not seen any of the major tool brands cabinets at £400+ but I can't see why I would ever need to spend that much on a cabinet when this is available for such a good price.
It has more space than I'll likely ever never, and I thought I had amassed a lot of tools over the years!
Great product and very quick delivery with FedEx. Will check SGS again in future for any tooling needs!

Ordered a battery which is advertised as next day delivery for a job 2 days after it was ordered only to find out it can take up to a week to arrive due to the size of the battery, now had to delay the job and loose half a day of money due to this.
False advertising they should not be saying next day delivery when they know this is not possible on big battery’s
Two Stars - A Case of Déjà Vu (and Damage): Disappointing Customer Service
My experience with this company started off promisingly enough. I ordered a tool chest, and while the first one arrived damaged, I was impressed with their quick and hassle-free replacement process. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended.
The replacement tool chest arrived...also damaged. While the damage wasn't as severe as the first time, it was still significant and disappointing. I immediately tried to contact the company again, reaching out to the same two individuals who had been so helpful with the initial issue. However, this time, I was met with complete silence. Two attempts to contact them have gone unanswered.
So now I'm left with a brand new, yet still damaged, tool chest and absolutely no recourse. The initial responsiveness was excellent, but the lack of follow-up after the second damaged delivery is unacceptable. While I appreciate the swift replacement of the first item, the fact that the replacement was also damaged, coupled with the subsequent radio silence from customer service, leaves me with a very negative impression. I'm now stuck with a damaged product and no apparent way to resolve the issue. This is simply not good enough.
Efficient, cooperative and superb value
Communications with Ryan were superb. Very swift and helpful replies, and went above and beyond to ensure that the parcels were delivered while someone was there to recieve them. Had a quick look at the products as soon as they arrived. Superbly packaged (Although very large and heavy, being condensed... but efficient packaging!)
All seems in order. Would absolutely recommend SGS for their communications, efficiency and cooperation.

Bought a 3 ton trolley lever jack for £79 Inc vat, was not expecting anything great. Jack arrived next day and the quality and finish is fantastic. Been in the trade 40 years and can honestly say this is the best value for money purchase I ever made.. Thanks SGS
Don’t doubt what your given
I recently needed to replace the 2 bonnet struts on my Hymer motorhome I went to a local caravan dealer at Southport and before I had finished my sentence the head shake said it all😐 Get in touch with SGS engineering is your best bet I was told so I rang up and gave the bloke who answered the phone the part number on the old strut that was on Friday it might come Saturday if not deffo Monday. True to his word it came on Monday when I opened the well wrapped box I noticed the new struts were about 1” longer so I emailed SGS and was told that they were the correct replacement and to try them. Well to my relieve they did fit! So a big thanks to Matt and Ryan 👍
I received my roller cabinet within two…
I received my roller cabinet within two days, it was due to be delivered next but was let down by FedEx. Also the unit was damaged on one corner, again I believe the fault lies with transportation & NOT SGS.
When I reported the damage their customer service was outstanding & they could not have been more helpful & apologetic. I was offered a discount, which I was very happy with.
The quality of the unit is okay for the price paid.

Appalling
Appalling, buyers beware!
Repeated advice and instructions from their 'technical team' that are completely irrelevant to the product. They don't even know how their item works! Bought a professional 2 tonne engine crane, within 6 months the ram failed. Sent photos and videos with prompt, albeit useless replies from their customer service. Finally sent it back so they could assess the problem and drained the oil before sending as they requested. On their inspection they note how a lack of oil would mean it doesn't work! The piston has become pitted and rusty - which shouldn't happen if the correct material was used in manufacture and it's constantly covered in oil. Our old one was never effected like this! But apparently we caused it through lack of maintenance which consists of storing it correctly and wiping it down which we always do. Apparently the release valve has bent and the spring, that is encased in a sleeve is rusty - again substandard materials. This is is a professional garage who's last crane lasted over 5 years, values their tools and looks after them. The replacement ram we bought to tide us over didn't work straight from the box. A trolley jack we also bought has had the design changed. There's no inspection plate meaning filling the oil is impossible in the lowered position as its completely hidden. We had the same run around with their technical team giving advice that wouldn't work on their product. Its working currently so we gave up with that. Inferior products, customer service and support is completely ignorant to how their products work and they'll wriggle out of any warranty they claim to offer. Avoid at all cost!!

I popped into the trade counter today to see if I could get a replacement filter for my sgs compressor that I had snapped the thread off on. Within a short time, I was provided with one from the spares store at minimal cost. Absolutely brilliant customer service, thank you.
