Shadow offers decent performance to play my favorite games on high settings and - if it works - is easy to use. However, it is kinda slow to start up, and sometimes is plagued by technical issues... See more

I purchased Shadow Tech's cloud Windows 10 computer service but discovered a critical limitation that was not disclosed anywhere on their product page: the inability to install WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux).
For developers and technical users, WSL is a standard and essential Windows 10 feature. Shadow Tech's failure to mention this significant limitation on their product page constitutes misleading advertising, as customers reasonably expect a "Windows 10 computer" to support all standard Windows 10 features.
When I contacted customer service explaining this undisclosed limitation and requesting a refund, they refused to acknowledge their mistake or offer any resolution. Their customer service was unhelpful and unwilling to take responsibility for the incomplete product description.
I was fortunately able to get a full refund through PayPal's buyer protection, but only after Shadow Tech proved unwilling to resolve the issue directly.
Bottom line: Shadow Tech does not accurately describe their service limitations and has poor customer service when issues arise. I recommend staying away and looking for alternative cloud computing providers who are transparent about their service capabilities and stand behind their products.
Would not recommend.
NOTE: They mentioned in their reply "This is a known limitation and it's also stated in our rules and restrictions which are available on our website and terms of service." however I mentioned the "Product Page" which does not disclose this. They are hiding behind their fine print. Stay away, its not worth the hassle.

Shadow have provided an amazing service. I primarily use my shadow for PC and VR gaming and video creation. It provides everything I need and is worth every penny

Best cloud gaming experience by far. Shadow offers a very comprehensive device compatibility for their native app. No need to add other services like Parsec or moonlight, compared to which the speed, and video quality are far superior with the shadow native app. Reliability is great, machine specs are good enough. I landed with shadow after trying many other services, paper space, gforce now, even google cloud gaming when it was still around, but nothing came even close to shadow. I’m in west US and the game latency is pretty good.

Laggy, unreliable streaming of the VM and predatory subscription service. I was double charged for a subscription when I only wanted one. When i contacted customer support they offered to give me a credit for the next month... and outright refused to offer a refund. I see this as a scam to force me to pay for 2 months service. Quality is awful and they dont care about good business practices. Doubt they will be in business in 2026.
Update 6/19 I received an email fro. Shadow stating they are suspending my access to their service altogether pending a fraud investigation since i disputed the duplicated charge with my bank. They have now taken my $30 for the original subscription and denied access to the service. This is a predatory company. BE CAREFUL before thinking about doing business with them.
Update 6/24 Shadow offered to renew access to one of my subs. Glad they did so, but Im already turned off.
Update 6/26
Customer service acknowldged the issues. Shadow is the only service that leases VMs for $10/mo. If some lag is okay, then there isnt much of a choice.

I subscribed to Shadow on June 12th and received the activation email later that day. I'm located in Brazil, and unfortunately, I wasn't aware that my region isn't officially supported. This information wasn’t clearly visible during checkout.
When I tried using the service, the latency made it completely unusable. I contacted support within 24 hours to request a refund, but they declined, citing their Terms of Use and my location.
While I understand they have policies, I believe this could have been avoided with a clear warning before payment. I wasn’t trying to misuse the service — I just didn’t know. I feel disappointed for paying for something I couldn’t even use properly.

Its ok. Id give 5 stars but considering the price for the so called "power" tier, i just cant give 5. though, so far the service is okay. And being able to cloud play all the console emulators for windows is quite awesome, really! But im quickly hitting the limits of the hardware when emulating the more modern consoles...

I give only 4 stars because they dont have support in spanish, no server in Spain, and no shadow in spanish. Rest is perfect

I love Shadow VM. With the power of a high-end PC accessible from virtually any device, Shadow could redefine how we use technology. In the near future, I believe we won’t need expensive laptops or desktops anymore—just a phone, tablet, or portable monitor will be enough. Shadow is paving the way toward a more flexible, device-agnostic computing experience.

Shadow let's me play flight simulator 2024 without having to buy a really expensive graphics card. With all the mods and vatsim which can't be done on Nvidia GeForce now or game pass ultimate also you can use USB forwarding software to use any joystick throttle hotas or rudder.

very straight forward (at least for me, a Millennial).
Using Shadow PC I was able to play all the PC games I wanted to from the app on my chromebook.
I was also able to close my account without much hassle (I ended up asking the chat bot at the bottom right corner for instructions from the web portal).

Extremely Disappointed – Service Not Usable and Refund Denied.
I subscribed to Shadow Ultra on May 10, 2025 after my high-end laptop broke down. As a university student working on a time-sensitive 3D architecture project, I urgently needed a temporary solution to continue modeling in SketchUp and rendering with V-Ray.
What I got was a complete disaster:
• The mouse lag and input delay made SketchUp unusable
• V-Ray rendering failed completely, even on basic scenes
• The performance was worse than my backup laptop, despite Shadow advertising powerful specs
• The support team took days to reply, and when they did, they gave generic instructions that didn’t help
Eventually, they admitted the truth:
Jordan is not a supported region, and the poor performance was due to latency and distance from their data centers.
That’s outrageous — because their website never warned me, blocked me, or mentioned anywhere that Shadow wouldn’t work from my location. I was allowed to pay full price without being told I was buying something that wouldn’t work where I live.
Even worse, when I requested a refund — after less than a few hours of usage, well within the first week — they flatly denied it. Their policy basically says: once you pay, it doesn’t matter whether it works for you or not.
If their customer service had been decent — if they had offered a trial, or even just one month free so I could wait until I was in a supported region — I wouldn’t be writing this review. I was willing to compromise. But they were cold, inflexible, and greedy. No accountability. No fairness. Just a rigid policy that protects them, not the customer.
Also, the fact that there’s no trial is a serious problem. You have to pay first and hope it works. And if it doesn’t, they’ll point to their terms of service and tell you there’s nothing they can do.
I bought Shadow not for gaming or fun — but to get serious work done. They failed to deliver the basic functionality they promised, and treated my refund request like an inconvenience.

I have used Shadow pretty close to when they released! It was and still is a phenomonal service. I have used it for everything from light web development to hardcore gaming, and just general productivity. When it was aquired a few years back, my performance dropped due to the closure of a nearby data center, but they have since improved performance over the years and it is significantly more stable and useable across multiple devices that I use. Their price does feel steep at first but when compared to other cloud PC options, having unlimited active use and knowing my games will just work has been huge! It's been a life saver when visiting friends to play games knowing I don't have to buy a high-performance laptop or carry around my desktop. Sure there's issues but nothing outside of the norm for any cloud gaming/platform service. It's not for everyone, but it's perfect for me.

The service is awful. I got the Boost plan, and the performance is so bad it feels like the free plan on GeForce Now. It’s as if they’ve never upgraded their hardware since Shadow first launched.
I strongly discourage anyone from trying the "Boost" plan until the "Neo Boost" plan fully replaces it.
Sorry for the harsh review, but since the competition actually delivers what you pay for, you'd expect the same from Shadow PC.

It's garbage, run by a bunch of bankrupt frenchie fùcks who obviously hate Americans. Terrible performance terrible support no trial only full payment to even see what its like. Used to work well now they've gone bankrupt and have focused all efforts on business needs not gaming.
