Poor Service

I am writing to formally register my disappointment with the service I received from SimOptions and to ask for an immediate refund.
Within minutes of placing my order on 20 April, I realised that I had been charged USD 49.90 for shipping a SIM card that cost USD 44.90. I contacted SimOptions via live chat within five minutes of purchase to request a cancellation and refund. During that chat, your representative, Claire, confirmed that a refund could be processed before shipment.
Although I was surprised to be asked to forfeit USD 5.00 “for your time”, which I consider excessive given how promptly I contacted you, I nonetheless agreed in good faith. Claire confirmed that she would escalate the refund request before shipping. I also sent a follow‑up email requesting cancellation and a refund on the same day, to ensure the matter was properly recorded.
Despite this, SimOptions still shipped the SIM card, and I am now being told that you are unable to cancel the order or issue a refund because the item has already shipped. This directly contradicts what I was told at the time and raises a serious concern: why offer a refund option if you do not intend or are unable to honour it before shipment?
I am further concerned by your suggestion that I should accept delivery and return the SIM card at my own expense, with shipping costs deemed non‑refundable. Given that I notified SimOptions immediately and received explicit confirmation that a refund would be processed, this approach feels unreasonable, misleading, and unfair.
I therefore request:

A full refund of the SIM card and shipping costs, or at a minimum
A refund in line with what was explicitly agreed at the time of cancellation (less the USD 5.00, if you persist with that position)

I'm hoping this matter will be resolved quickly for you. Failing that, I will consider escalating the issue through my payment provider and relevant consumer‑protection channels.

Happy to sell you stuff - zero help when needdd

After a very simple and successful eSim purchase and activation my eSim suddenly ceased work after 7 days. I am traveling for 3 months, so need data. I emailed customer support and they ghosted me after three days, having done nothing useful to assist. I reached out to the live chat, provided all the information a second time to the Zendesk 1st level support, was told it was being escalated to “customer care” and that i would receive an email. The eSim is not working- its not user error, i just want a refund or the ability to get a new product. Meanwhile, i have used a roaming product from my Australian phone provider so that i give time to SimOptions to resolve the issue. It has cost me more money to wait for an outcome. Terrible service, nonsense use of technology to basically avoid any accountability for issues with products they resell. It was a USD$29 product- 7 days has passed with no resolution. Providing a refund or a new product straight away is all that is required to remedy this. Do not bother to spend money with this company cos if anything goes wrong, you are on your own.
