Following SolarZero’s liquidation

Following SolarZero’s liquidation, customer support became extremely limited, and many of the advertised discounts and electricity pricing benefits were no longer available. Over the subsequent two years, electricity prices more than doubled, while the feed-in tariffs paid for exporting power to the grid were reduced by approximately 50%.
Given these developments, the financial benefits originally presented have significantly diminished. As a result, it would be difficult for me to recommend this model to others under the current market conditions.

We sold our property in whch we had Solarzero system

We sold our property in which we had a solar system fitted, this was transferred to the new owners without any hassles and the whole process was monitored and supervised by Vinod who has given us excellent personal service for many years. So great to deal with an actual person rather than the automated robots that some other companies are using.

Years of cheap power off our roof

We had 14 panels and a 6.4 kWh battery fitted several years ago when the original Solar Zero company first put the scheme out there. The system was subsequently taken over by the current Solarzero company. This changeover was without any change to our system or any issues with either company.
Over the last year we experienced a problem with our battery. This was brought to our attention with a phone call from SZ at about the same time we noticed the data on the SZ app had changed. SZ undertook to replace the battery with a new one after asking us to carry out a system reboot at our end {easy pezzy}.
We have recently sold our property and the SZ people sent an option for the prospective buyers to take over the leasing arrangement and when settlement of the sale took place this SZ transfer all happened in the background with any input from us.
Unfortunately we have moved into an apartment otherwise we would happily go down this track again.

Solar Battery Charge Plan Options

Kudos to Nina Syndney from customer support. she took the time to clearly explain how the system was operating and why the battery was charging from the grid under the existing settings. Her explanations were detailed, easy to understand, and helped me better interpret what I was seeing in the dashboard.
More importantly, she listened to my preference for a solar-first approach and promptly updated the battery configuration to better align with how I want to use my system — prioritising household usage, then battery charging, and only exporting excess solar.
I really appreciated the combination of technical understanding and clear communication. It made it much easier to make an informed decision about how my system should run.
Thanks again Nina for the support and for helping optimise my setup.

Helpfull Transfer Team

We purchased a house that already had SolarZero solar panels and had to go through the transfers process. This process was made easy and seamless with the help of Vinod through helpful and timely emails and phone calls. We are yet to move into our property and use the panels but so far so good, everything looks like it will work out well! Also, having the app is a great addition.

Very understanding

My husband & I joined Solarzero in 2023 and we were very happy with the service. Unfortunately my husband passed away last year and a new agreement was drawn up with my name as property owner. Due to the stress I was under at the time I found the whole process very complicated. Paige Prasad was very understanding & helpful and after many phone calls and emails I think we have finally sorted out the issues. I am very grateful to her & other staff at Solarzero for their understanding & patience .

Helpful Support

My SolarZero install was too small for my needs so I'm getting it removed, as my contract is already paid off I asked them if they could remove the system. They offered to give it to me for free and terminate the remainder of the contract. This is a fantastic result, support staff were very helpful and resolved my issue quickly.

Fantastic company

I would say , they did a fantastic job of organising , and removing batteries, when we paid our final payment, and we still kept our complete solar system, which was a great relief as we had seen bad reviews on other media sites , very good people to deal with .

Great Customer Service

Having been with Solar Zero for a few years now, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Great customer service and follow up when selling our house and getting the Solar Zero contract swapped over to the new owners.

Dont sign up with Solar Zero

When i started off with solar zero it was good with the fixed price for electricity etc. Wellington is not the best place for solar because of the absence of sunlight during winter! They got me to join their broadband as well. After 4 years I found out that I was paying $30 more than similar broadband providers. Called them to terminate it they tell me termination fee of more than $200 is applicable. Its a total scam, I dont have much savings with solar panels, also the battery and solar panels have all advanced in technology so much. The battery capacity also is not much and can't store enough on a good day. Im stuck with this for 25 years! 🙄

Stay far away from solar zero

Stay far away from solar zero. We have had a panel off line for over a year they cam and replaced a inverter but it would still not come back online. They email saying that it needs to be changed to digital and would need a complete overhall and was not cost effective and would leave it as is becouse they clame its still running at 85%. I told them its not good enougth and will contuine to hold any payment to them intill its 100% online again. Im now going to lay a complant and try to get out of the contract they do not monitor the systems i was the one that found it off line not them. They dont want to fix anything im guessing because they dont have the money. There are a tone of people complaning about the take over and bad service and also laying complants. STAY WELL AWAY

Useless customer service

Useless customer service. Changed internet provider who said they would advise Solar Zero. Thought I'd send an email to confirm and got a reply telling me I would have to give them 30 days notice - even after them being advised by 2degrees. Responded by email- 3 times now - and phoned and left a message with no follow up whatsoever. There's going to be trouble if they charge me for broadband on my next bill!!!

When I signed up the broadband package-02/2023

When I signed up the broadband package, I was initially told there is a $200 termination fee if I canceled early. Prooving to a rude Energy Specialist at customer care with emails as proof, still cannot get him to show me when did I have received this false information of an extortion amount he claims was sent to me.
Seems asif they are coming up with made up T&C's.

Waited 3 years for my…

Waited 3 years for my proposal/contract. Got it recently when i told them i want out, on reading through it on page 21 is where SZ and the customer sign to declare that both partys agree to the terms and conditions set out in this, there is a dated and signed portion from Andrew Booth (ceo) and under this there is a dated and signed and named (me) portion. This isnt my signature-nothing like it so, they have committed fraud by forging my signature on a legal document. They deny this vehemently. I have never seen this document before. Dodgy pack of bastards. Little wonder the failed.

Solar Zero - Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Took over contract when purchased my 1st home and am paying on average $750 a month on power when I was averaging around $300.
I actually can’t believe they getting away with this and nobody seems to be able to get out of their contracts and nobody is supporting the individuals stuck with the expenses.
Good luck to whoever tries to convince me to buy or sign up another Solar scam!!
