Failure to deliver and no refund without prompting

I ordered boots and was advised of a delivery date. They didn't arrive and after a number of days I contacted sports direct only to find out they had been lost in transit. I wasn't proactively advised about the problem. Only when contacted did sports direct tell me that they could no longer supply the item so refunded it.

I am extremely dissatisfied with your service. I paid for express shipping, yet my order is arriving later than the promised delivery date. I intend to leave a negative review. I still haven’t received my package, and I will never order from this fraudulent website again.

Only willing to give a partial refund

I ordered several tracksuits for my son's birthday. When my order arrived, one tracksuit was completely missing, and another only included the top with no bottoms.

I contacted customer service, expecting them to resolve the issue, but they only offered me a partial refund of £13.50, even though the missing/incomplete items cost me around £60. I find this completely unacceptable.

In my experience, the advertising was misleading because I did not receive what I paid for, and the resolution offered did not reflect the value of the missing items. The customer service was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend shopping here based on how this issue has been handled.

Over priced

I went into Sports Direct Northumberland Street, Newcastle to buy an England Rugby shirt and was disgusted at the price.
They wanted £89.00 for the current England top. I checked the price for exactly the same top on Castore and they were selling it for £35.00 delivered.

Guess I’ll not be buyer from sports direct

Shoes Tore After Two Months, Followed by Shocking Treatment from Staff

We bought a pair of shoes for our 13-year-old son from Sports Direct Enfield around two months ago. He used them only for school, yet one shoe tore completely along the side, as shown in the photographs. This seemed highly unusual, particularly as he had not used them for any heavy-duty activity.

We returned to the store intending to buy another pair while also asking why the previous shoes had failed so quickly. The woman at the counter said she needed to inspect them, so I called my son over as he was wearing them.

Despite the obvious damage, she said it was not possible for a shoe to tear like that and claimed it must be normal wear and tear. This effectively suggested that I was not telling the truth.

When I insisted that the shoes had only been used normally and asked for an explanation, the conversation quickly descended into accusations such as, “You are raising your voice” and, “You are bullying me.” Another member of staff then said, “I can smell that you have been drinking.”

I told him that if they genuinely believed I was drunk and causing disruption, they should call the police, who could carry out a breath test. I had not been drinking.

My wife then tried to explain the situation, but she too was accused of raising her voice and bullying staff. Our 13-year-old son explained that he has separate football boots for school football, yet the staff said this was “not possible”, effectively implying that he was also lying.

I asked for the manager, and the woman said she was the manager. Instead of addressing the issue, she stated that she buys trainers every two or three months and that this is normal.

Is it really normal for trainers to tear apart after only two months of ordinary school use? We regularly buy shoes for our children, and they normally last far longer. When a product fails this badly, customers have every right to ask questions without being treated as liars, bullies or drunks.

I was not drunk. I was frustrated by the dismissive and disrespectful way in which we were treated. Rather than properly investigating a clearly damaged product, the staff turned the matter into personal accusations against our entire family.

For the record, we still bought another pair because our son had sports day the following morning and the other shops were already closed. We had little practical choice.

I would strongly advise customers to be aware of this experience before visiting Sports Direct Enfield. We were deeply disturbed by the way the matter was handled. All that was required was a reasonable explanation, an investigation or, at the very least, an apology.

Apparently, even that was too much to expect.

Absolute waste of time

Absolute waste of time. Had to spend a credit note so bought trainers online…..delivered to house a few doors away without my consent, and apparently that’s in line with their policy and acceptable. No reason they can’t deliver to me I waited in for delivery. They are absolutely washing their hands of the situation and I can’t do chargeback as a credit note. Evri delivery as per usual can’t be bothered. Would not recommend this company they are bullies. Won’t ever use or recommends to anybody.

Beware of fraud

If I could give this store 0 stars, I absolutely would.

Please read the reviews from other customers before ordering. The same thing happened to me as to many others: my parcel disappeared, and all I received were endless copy-and-paste replies claiming they needed 30 days to contact their own courier. How does it take a month to speak to your own delivery company?

I paid for my order, never received it, and they still refuse to issue a refund while hiding behind their “investigation.” At this point, I feel like I’ve simply been robbed of my money.

The store currently has a 2.9-star rating on Google Reviews, which says a lot about the quality of both their service and customer support.

Avoid this store at all costs. It’s better to pay a little more somewhere else than risk losing both your money and your order.

Outdated return policy

I bought a top for my son, but the fabric wasn’t in the style he wanted. We bought what he preferred elsewhere, so I returned the item to store unused, with all tags still attached within 2 days and well within their 28‑day return window.

Was quite surprised to be told they do not offer money‑back refunds for change of mind, only a credit note. It feels unfair that the company can hold onto your funds for up to two years until you choose to spend again with them. This policy feels quite outdated and restrictive compared to most other high‑street retailers, and it’s definitely an area they are falling behind on customer service.

Have added an extra star as the staff I spoke to was friendly and sympathetic when unable to offer money back and processing the credit note.

With Sports Direct being such a well‑established high‑street brand, I hope they can get with the times and update this outdated return and refund policy.

Be careful using sports direct

Be careful using sports direct, ordered 3 items and collected parcel from local store, got home to find only 2 items in parcel. Contacted sports direct via chat, after finally getting through it kept taking 5 minutes to get a response and which was thank you for your patience. In the end was told it will take a few days to investigate, as I was typing reply the operator ended chat. I don't expect to hear from them again and don't expect to recieve item. Awful company and getting worse

Always always late delivery

Always always late delivery. Supposed to have a delivery on the 22nd which was already 1 week and now it’s is going in to the 8th day. This was a gift for the World Cup that has ruined a present due to delay. Will not be ordering from this site again. Absolutely awful service and customer service don’t even respond to emails.

Avoid online with Sports Direct

Received a pair of trainers yesterday.
The box was beaten up something chronic. Teach your staff SD how to pack parcels how it has been returned to you.
The privilege for purchasing a pair of trainers in my size, which were too small has cost me near on £10, postage incoming and outgoing. My last ever order with SD. Lesson learned.
My advice, unless you are 100% sure items will fit, avoid Sports Direct online.

Wish I’d read reviews before ordering…

Wish I’d read reviews before ordering online, they are quick enough to take my money but don’t like to deliver. Ordered two weeks ago and was given a delivery date for 21st June it never arrived and I went online to speak to customer service they were extremely rude and dismissive of their system and just kept on saying it was an estimate for delivery I have ordered from temu in china and they delivered quicker and sports direct are in the UK I would advise anyone not to order from them because the customer service is garbage. And they don’t care once you’ve paid

Well well well I should read the reviews before ordering of this company!! I ordered a flat pack shed the weight stated that it was a 2 man job, the 1 delivery driver delivered it I signed and he left it at the front door, I paid £49.99 for a 2 man delivery, I question this with an associate online who first told me that the company that was delivering it was called the 2 man delivery service 😂 I then looked at their delivery chart and it stated the price of my delivery what liars please be aware when ordering that if you pay for a 2 man delivery service you only get one delivery guy showing up no wonder the reviews are poor!!
