Easy user interface and a wide rage of presets to choose from. Lots of themes to adapt.

This Deskscapes 11 software is great and I really enjoy watching all my downloaded videos as animated wallpapers. I really, really......like it very much. Though at times, it freezes but that seldom happens, Stardock, keep up the good job.

Well, I Do like my Stardock stuff but, there's a "bug" with the deskscapes 11 and serial numbers. I bought it, but a random annoying pop-up keeps asking for the serial number. I open the program and it works just fine. But, the pop-up, seems to have another opinion. So, it keeps popping up. A bit annoying. Otherwise, all is well. See? That didn't hurt too much . . . . did it?
Now, find a way to get my task bar, back up top and it will be the best thing, since the thermos. You put it in hot, it stays hot. You put it in cold, it stays cold. How does it know?!!?? 8^)

I really like having videos as my wallpaper. Deskscapes installed well. Accessing and using settings was easy and clear. It worked well as expected, even with 10 hour space videos from Youtube. Only complaint I have is with how it handles sound. Even though I set the sound to 0, I still hear sound. I have to mute the sound in windows sound settings to get no sound. Also, I am using a playlist and have it set to change every hour. It is not doing that. It only changes when I reboot or the video ends (I am using 10 hour videos). Other than those two things, It works Great! The selection of backgrounds animated backgrounds available is extensive. Definitely worth the money.

I went to obtain some more Descapes 11 backgrounds and the Stardock website made that extremely easy.

Love the animated "dream" backgrounds I have something for every season even every month of the year. Right now, a Grizzly is swimming on monitor two and a Blackbear is fish on monitor one and monitor three has beach scenes I've collected flipping every 30 seconds.

Usually every Stardock product is just useful and fancy, very creative programs and unique that enriches and enhances your windows experience, Fences for example is amazing and i have no complaints although i have to be honest about Deskscapes since it does needs A LOT of polish and bug fixes, the effects change vary from basically wallpaper to wallpaper and it does not change on time which makes the app a bit confusing at first, plus a lot of it's original features like make you create your own animations are blocked behind an external website and you also have to log in which is not intuitive at all. Overall great for the price and the lifetime license. Great company making good products, keep it up!

This program or App is so versatile and user friendly that it's a joy to use and view all the wonderful screens.

I don't like the move to Subscriptions. I think it's a very overplayed and tacky method of selling the same thing for a lot more money. I appreciate that you still sell the permanent licenses, but I would much rather purchase the one time and install on five machines. This is a feature EVERY 3-5$ license came with. Now you have to pay 3 times the cost of a license that's already a markup, just to access the sparse updates? I dunno. I have Start 11v2 and I have Start8. If I could use Start8 with windows 11, I would still. I don't feel the need for a new purchase just to make it run different. And don't get me started on fences...

All in all, I adore your software, and it used to be my first install. Now it's been an afterthought. And not because windows looks better without it by any means... The licensing issues lately have made me feel like I'm not as likely to come back in the future. I used to appreciate stardock for holding fast against the Adobe model. Would have been a solid 5 stars as always, but lately I'm not as happy. But I'm sure you can afford to lose a few long term users as long as you get some new blood willing to shell out monthly. Good luck with that Stardock. Genuinely, Once the best windows alteration software ever for the most ideal pricing. I can even get behind the price changes if you made it clear that what I had is now 20$ instead of 5$ for the new version. What I saw was 5$, but then I needed to buy it again for each machine. That doesn't work for me. That's damn near false advertising. I understand "It's the way things are going." but often times breaking the mold for the better, even for a smaller company, can set you apart from the competition in a major way.

Edit: the response from your company, keeping it real and not promising the moon when it's not realistic is also refreshing, so I went from 3 to 4 stars. I still love stardock apps and functionality and nothing but a twist of fate could stop me using my eternal licenses.

I love most of the backgrounds

I have been extremely pleased with Deskscapes ever since I started using it three years ago. It has been wonderful being able to use our videos animations be our screen savers. The playlist feature is very nice as well and have never used any software like this that is so easy to use. I have never had any problems with our systems locking up or being drained of their resources for this software to operate in the background. Since Windows 11 doesn't offer anything new or even really support screensavers anymore its nice to have deskscapes do the job. Also, we use several other items from Stardock such as FENCES. What a nifty out of the box idea we can actually use every day.

Deskscapes stopeed working. This may be because I am using the latest beta of Windows 11. Tried uninstalling and reinstall, uploaded CODEC etc. no joy.

Update 3 April 2024 Received response to update the review (or delete) it from Stardock. Try troubleshooting from theior site and still it does not work?
