I accidentally made an incorrect purchase on my account and contacted Steam twice to resolve the issue. It took a total of two days to receive a response. I was told the purchase could not be refunded if the in-game credits had been consumed—however, they were not used in any way.
I followed up a second time specifically to confirm that the credits had not been consumed, yet I received the same generic response: “In-game item purchases are not refundable if any items in the purchase have been consumed, modified, or transferred.”
Due to the lack of meaningful review of the case or support for an obvious accidental purchase, I will no longer be making purchases through this store or with this company.
I would strongly suggest that if reading this, care at all about how a company treats its customers, you consider doing the same.

Easily the best consumer-friendly business for pc games, they accept game refunds no questions asked as long as you bought it less than 2 weeks ago or have played for under 2 hours which I think is more then fair, especially since it feels like you have to go through so many hoops to try and negotiate a refund out of a similar competitor like epic games. Steam singlehandedly brought gaming on linux to life and I honestly love them for that. Can't speak for the customer support since I've never actually needed it. 5 stars from me
Unplayable game
They sold me a game that always crashes at a certain point in the game. I uninstalled and played through again and it still crashes at the same point in the game. They will not refund my money because I played the game over the refund time limit. They took forever to respond, and then they were rude and unhelpful. Horrible customer service. I'm glad I learned my lesson on my very first purchase so I didn't give them very much money. I am not a bot and this was not my fault.

Tried purchasing through steam, has the money on the steam wallet but rejected when I was making in game purchases I did message them to ask about this as I was frustrated didn’t really resolve it and gave vague answer rather bad communication as well as service won’t be purchasing through steam again that’s for sure

You don't own anything and can't do anything with the things you don't own. Simple things like moving a key from one account to another, even if you own both accounts, aren't possible. Not entirely Steam's fault, but the entire industry has just become a long con on the consumer.

Very slow and very poor level of support, I am traveling and they ask you a lot of personal questions at the very beginning as if you're opening up a bank account with them, but then! when it comes to your region they don't take your answers for it... they take your IP Address ,now how the heck my billing address would be matching my location if I'm on the move? that's the stupidest thing I've ever encountered.... not worth it not even a bit, and the big thing here is that I was recommended to use it and their payment systems and their support personal just screwing the company itself.

So first off I'd like to start by saying that I got a ban 4 days ago for no reason from the steam community, they refuse to tell me about my post history and infractions, and when I checked the proper links like posthistoryraw etc I got nothing.
I guess I am just banned for another 9 weeks after my unban from the 13 week ban I also got unfairly.
Seriously you cannot convince me the support is good, cant refund game thats not available anymore in my country even tho i bought it with my own money, Can't report person for spamming n word on my profile (they get 1 day ban if they do), but if some dude is spam reporting my account (4879 reports per day) its fine.
American idiot savants is how I'd describe the bot support, but without the savant part as hitting the average IQ of the bot and getting through to a human that has a brain is lowkey a low chance.

I bought a game on Steam, paid 60 euros, but I didn't like it and requested a refund. It's been 2025, June, and I still haven't received it. From now on, I won't buy any more games because it's a scam. I have a PS5 and I don't feel cheated. I prefer playing on the PS5; it's safer. That's my opinion.

Trying to solve a problem is like entering the ninth circle of hell. There are NO HUMANS to contact, just endless loops of automated, unhelpful posts.
I had one game I loved. It was on both of my desktops, then suddenly stopped working on one. I couldn't figure out why and couldn't get any answers, so I uninstalled the apps on both computers and tried to simply buy it again.
When I try to repurchase, the denial message says I already own the app. So I reinstalled, and the app says I don't have a license. What the circular logic nightmare is this?
And of course there is no solution because there is no way to contact a human being.

It is the best games marketplace on PC, they make the linux platform so accessible with Proton, their Index and Deck hardware are superb.
Customer service has only been good with refunds and Ive only had one instance of getting hacked but they got it locked down quickly. They dont have an email or phone, its a ticket system on their support page which I could understand to be frustrating but they get the job done.
