My last 3 purchases via steam using iDEAL(Wero) went terrible. There was about a month inbetween each purchase and all of them had trouble. For the first one it told me to wait, they needed to check... See more

Evidently scammed
I ordered a gift card for a gamer this Christmas who never received it by email, as was promised. I cannot contact support to clear this up or get a refund, though I have sent at least five requests in the past two weeks.
Steam Sucks buy hard copies you wont lose them
Cannot access my account after resetting my password. There is ZERO customer service or anyway for me to contact them. I will let the games go glad i didnt have a full library lesson learnt STEAM SUCKS.
my favorite place to buy games
my favorite place to buy games, so easy to use and sales are frequent
WARNING they cheat you
WARNING they cheat you, I just bought a game that doesn’t work I can’t log in, I tried many times, and tried to update drivers , to try again, the result is that it’s stuck in login process every time, and the login process counts as playing time, so even if I didn’t play it says I played 4 hours, so I can’t get a refund , please be aware of this scam .
Daylight robbery
Absolutely awful company. I used to be one of their biggest fans and would always reccomend. My how the mighty have fallen, after coming of the back of having cancer I lost my home and had to sell my pc. Fast forward 4 years I have now replaced this PC and tried signing back into my account. Due to it being so long I had forgotten my password and tried to reset it. I was then told by steam it had been to long to reset my password and i would need receipts from 4 years ago (which i obviously dont have) to prove i am the account holder. Waiting over 36 hours for replys from the team and getting snarky replys when stating i did not have this infomation. I've been fully locked out now and can't gain access.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE.
There are plenty of other vendors that will actually look after you.
We bought a gift card for our son for…
We bought a gift card for our son for Christmas at Walmart. When he tried to redeem it, it would not work. We took it back to Walmart with the receipt and they told us to contact steam. We contacted steam and they said it was a problem with Walmart. What the heck? Who received our money for this purchase? So now we are out that money. Ridiculous. I will NEVER purchase anything from steam again.
STEAM CONDONES BULLYING AND INSULTS
Steam is allowing targeted bullying, insults and harassments.
A 'jester' award was given on my profile as a means of insult. When I contacted Steam support, they claimed they could not see the issue, even though it is glaringly obvious on my profile and Steam themselves notified me about it.
What kind of company allows its users to insult and bully others?
I am owed a €100 refund for a gift card…
I am owed a €100 refund for a gift card that was refused by the recipient. Steam have credited this to my Steam account, but refuse to refund me the actual money. Since I have no intention of buying any computer games myself, this is simply money down the drain for me.
Awful experience with this company
Awful experience with this company. Purchased a Mac game and it was both slow to work and then kept crashing. I was adjusting my settings on the game to Make it work but crashed from time to time. I then asked for a refund, but Steam refused to give it to me as I used the game for more than 2 hours. This sucks, as I did not play it that amount of time and was just trying to change settings to get it to work. Will now terminate my Steam account.

This is the worst platform I’ve ever experienced using in my life. Nothing works
They're not bad but do not depends only…
They're not bad but do not depends only on this platform for games. There are many alternative and more reliable platform on the web.
Tricked and no refund
Steam tricks you into purchasing for your own account by changing your ‘gift’ selection to buy for ‘my account’ at checkout. A rude automated email then says no refunds. No phone number and no humans to talk to, probably because they don’t know how to operate a phone. No support email is monitored either, because they can’t write. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS APPALLING COMPANY!!
Great Platform, Frustrating Support - A Solid Three Stars
Steam is, without a doubt, the go-to platform for PC gaming with its massive library, frequent sales, and solid community features. For that core service, it deserves recognition. However, my recent experience with their customer support has left me feeling stuck in a frustrating middle ground, forcing a three-star review.
The issue arose with a gift purchase. I bought a game for a family member, following the same process I've used many times before, only to encounter a technical hiccup where the game didn't share to their library as expected. Understanding that policies exist, I contacted support for a simple transfer or refund so I could repurchase it correctly—the game had zero minutes of playtime.
The response was a rigid, automated adherence to the 14-day refund policy, with no apparent consideration for the context: a legitimate gift, unplayed, and a customer just seeking to correct a simple error. The lack of human discretion or willingness to find a solution for a loyal user was profoundly disappointing. It felt like communicating with a system, not a support team.
This experience casts a shadow on the platform. While I'll continue to use Steam for its unbeatable game selection and deals, I now do so with caution. I’ve started considering alternative storefronts for gifts or larger purchases, wary of facing a similar brick wall if something goes slightly outside the standard script.
In summary: Five stars for the platform, one star for inflexible support. Averaged out to three. It’s a fantastic service until you need help, and then it becomes a significant source of frustration. They have the foundation to be perfect but need to reintroduce humanity into their customer service.
Faceless heartless avoid
For Christmas I bought Battlefield for my son to play, like all the games, I bought on my account and they normally appear on his, this didn't work, I now know some games don't. OK, no problem I thought. Steam won't transfer to his own account and won't refund so I can repurchase, 0 minutes have been played but it's over 2 weeks. They can see it's not been touched. Thanks for ruining my Christmas steam support and merry Christmas to you too! Will try to purchase all future games an alternative way if I can avoid this faceless heartless company.
Tired of their bugs
Tired of their bugs
Always some bugs in their plateform and they dont usually fix it fast !! They just enjoy the flow of money and don't care about players experience !!
Someone is trying to hijack my account…
Someone is trying to hijack my account several time with my email or id they have typed wrong password several times and now my when i enter my Steam it says error has occurred but i can still play my games....
Steam will not send a confirmation code…
Steam will not send a confirmation code to my email. I attempted to call, but they don't have an active customer service phone number. Attempted to create a ticket, but I need to get a confirmation code to do that... They have no public facing email for trouble creating an account.
Following on from downloading pga2k25…
Following on from downloading pga2k25 only tohave Steam refuse to refund after i'd spent more than 3 hours trying to make it work..(they deem this as playing it)
They have now made FM2012 unplayable by an 'upgrade' then suggesting users contact SEGA.
i would never use this platform again...they take your money and don't support. I suspect their 1.8 rating is only so high because you can't post unless you give at least 1 star
Item not received - do not buy from them!
I ordered a Steam deck on 3rd December as a Christmas present for my son. As of 23rd December - 20 days later, I have still not received. The product was sent via GLS. I have contacted both Steam and GLS multiple times the customer service is diabolical. Bland response of nothing they can do. No consideration for the disappointment this will be on Christmas Day. From GLS tracking, the item has been sitting in France since 8th December. Why use GLS if they can't deliver! And no offer of resolution from Steam other than to wait!
Money Grabbers/License Revoker without Cause
This company has now become money grabbers of those on Linux Operating Systems, and refuse to refund the money which customers paid a license for to play the games on to take away that license without any warning, and then quotes due to what they have caused, being games have been played more than 2 hours don't qualify for refund, this is a betrayal of customer rights.
