Came over late to ensure signal

Came over early evening to correct secondary fault.
After an earlier repair to improve signal, a glitch dropped the antenna signal. The repair man James drove close to 2 hours to reset the issue and rechecked the antenna
I now know that a new antenna may be the final fix.
And would use then to update to a new antenna.

Great and swift customer service

I emailed today for a call out as I had been let down by a company 3 times. Within minutes I had a call and they came out within half hour. I didn't catch the guys name but he was very polite and got the job completed. The price was good too. I would Highly recommend.

If I had read the reviews before I…

If I had read the reviews before I probably wouldn't have used the company but I didn't. Called the number at 10:30am and they advised that they would be there by 12pm which they were, the engineer treated my home with respect and took his shoes off without being asked, advised my on my aeriel which I knew was a dodgy install by the previous owner, signal was always ropey and many missing channels. received an immediate quote which I thought was fair ( I used another company on my mothers property in gloucestershire two years ago which was comparable) all fitted, sockets and leads changed and so far its all good.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! Was supposed to quote for aerial problem. Fitted new system without permission. Got my mother’s carer, because my mother has dementia, to pay an exorbitant bill for an aerial she didn’t need. Also refused to breakdown the bill and explain it.
Disgusting!!!
He also fits solar. Stay away.

Unprofessional and Untrustworthy Business

It is with great regret to have to write about a person who services the community but behind his business is a "Racist and has Hatred" towards people of other beliefs.
Can this person be trusted, NO!
Professionalism and trust is always a key factor in business and life in general and if that does not exist then it is a shame.
I am sure the police and authorities will take this matter up and prosecute appropriately

I engaged Steve for an aerial…

I engaged Steve for an aerial installation, and regrettably, my encounter with him left much to be desired.

To begin, there was an issue with the installation process that resulted in damage to the exterior of my wall. Surprisingly, Steve insisted that this damage was already present, despite my assurance that it wasn’t.

Furthermore, what was initially quoted as a 2-hour job escalated into an unexpected demand for an extra £150, with the excuse that solar flares had disrupted the satellites, requiring additional time. I found this explanation questionable, especially as such concerns weren’t communicated upfront.

Adding to the frustration, Steve utilized my lavatory during the installation, which, unfortunately, led to a blocked toilet, necessitating the services of a plumber. This unexpected inconvenience compounded the overall negative experience.

In addition to the professional shortcomings, I must note that Steve displayed a lack of courtesy and his body odor was quite noticeable. I hope this detailed review serves as constructive feedback for improvement in the future.

Incompetent Xenephobe

Not only is this company incompetent at fitting aerials, one of their drivers attempted to run over adults and CHILDREN at a peaceful demonstration!

Disgusting behaviour

AVOID THIS PERSON FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY

I witnessed a disturbing incident where this individual deliberately drove his work van into a peaceful protest, endangering the lives of both adults and children. Shockingly, he accompanied this act with aggressive and threatening behaviour, proclaiming that the protesters deserved to die. As a bystander not affiliated with the protest, this alarming behaviour leaves a lasting negative impression. I cannot recommend this individual or their services, nor would I want them on my property.

Engineer arrived earlier than expected, which wasn’t a problem
He did a thorough test of aerial signal and quickly found out that problem lay with my hard drive recorder. which was blocking signal strength to my to
He quoted a price to fix issue, fitted, tested and all ok now
This is 2nd time I’ve used Steve Unett and can thoroughly recommend his services

Incompetent Trader do not use it!

I do not generally use to write reviews, but this time I feel compelled to share my experience.
I called this Company, recommended by my son and with very good testimonials. I am experiencing problems with my satellite system, my receiver do not pick up major channels. He came to my house and after less than 10 minutes he said that he checked the alignment and he could see nothing is wrong with my system, therefore it must be a fault with my receiver. He offered no solution to my problem, but he still demanded £57.00 of call-out charge. I paid, but I took the initiative to send my receiver back to the shop I purchased to be checked-out (at my expenses). The shop owner tested my receiver and came back to me saying that he could find nothing wrong with it; all with some supporting evidence (short video and report).
When I rang back to Steve Unett, explaining the situation, he propose me to either to pay in advance for some parts he recommend, or purchase the parts myself without guarantee of fixing the problem. I just had enough, I want my money back! In conclusion, this trader has shown incompetence and disrespect for customers.

J E Hall TV Aerials is now the expensive Steve Unett

Phoned John Hall, the local aerial people, using the number on his website. Asked if it was John Hall. I was told it was. They could come in a few days time to sort out my aerial problem. Surprised when Aaron from Steve Unett arrived, not a local tradesman. £42 diagnostics charge paid. He tested the aerial, it was fine. The Labgear power unit needed to be replaced. He had one in the van, which would cost me £125+vat (total £150). I checked and questioned the cost. Aaron advised me that their power units carry a 1 year guarantee. I turned down his offer and chose to go to my local Screwfix. Total £15.67 (including vat and a 2 year guarantee!)
I have now looked at the invoice Aaron has written. He has written that he quoted £90+vat. My hearing is not perfect but I can tell the difference between 125 and 90!

Aerial lasted a year and a half. Dodgy

Had them install an aerial mid August 2018. Almost 200 pounds. Fell down March 2020. Asked around the village. No other aerials down.

Called Steve Unett Aerials and they sent a man in a van. Man said they had skimped by using the bracket that was already there from decades ago and that was not wise. Steve Unett wanted paid all over again, minimum 100 pounds. Bad workmanship, bad attitude. See Money Saving Expert for other customer comment regarding workmanship and attitude.

Now going through Citizens Advice Bureau as a first step towards claiming compensation.
