The worse mess I have ever gotten into…

The worse mess I have ever gotten into when painting, the filler jug has no handle and is very slippery and cumbersome to use. The paint wouldn't flow properly so thinned it with water, but got such a poor coverage even after 3 coats. Dreadful to clean out and the edging tool was less than useless I wish I had read the reviews first and then I woudn't have bothered to buy. Back to brush and roller for me !

Very disappointed

I bought the Paint Runner Pro a couple of years ago after seeing it on a TV shopping channel
I used it for the first time today and will never use it again!

I'd spent hours filling holes and sanding down the surface of a wall that I wanted to paint and had achieved a lovely smooth finish, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to use the Paint Runner Pro.

I loaded it with Dulux wall & ceiling matt emulsion and started to roll the wall. After a while the paint started to appear and the first few minutes of use were fine. However, the more I used it the worse the finish got. Lines of paint left from the ends of the roller and way too much paint on the wall, leaving a finish that looked like orange peel!
The only way I was able to rectify this terrible finish was to use a traditional paint roller and go over the whole wall again. The next place the paint runner pro is going is in the bin!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

What a waste of money. Not only is it heavy to use when it has paint in the cylinder. It is also impossible to paint with it as there is so little paint that comes out when you use it. These people should be reported to trading standards. What a waste of money, time and effort. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

bought this to paint my shed

bought this to paint my shed, total waste of money. paint started running through the roller before I had a chance to put cap on and then dripped all over the place. It was not even cheap paint I purchased, it was £60 per tin as I wanted it to last. People put on reviews that they could not get paint to come through the roller, I could not get it to stop.

Excellent product and customer service

I had been thinking about buying a Paint Runner Pro for a while being a keen DIYer and when I did I found out what a fantastic product it is. It really does what they say it does and made painting so much easier with no mess.
When you call the company for accessories and advice the staff are very helpful. My recent contact with Janine shows that this is a company that still believes in providing excellent customer service. Used correctly you won't be disappointed with this product! Andy Sherwood

Flimsy plastic lids, hard to get off and on,poles were so flimsy, that when you put any weight on it,they bent like spaghetti.
Just a cheaply made item.
Flocked edger broke almost immediately, with little or no pressure,Paint runner roller sponge disintegrated after 10 minutes use.
Really Disappointed.

Worst waste of money ever

Worst waste of money ever! Apart from it not working I damaged my shoulder with the weight. Tried watering the paint down to get it to come through, if I’d watered it any more it would have been a wash. As hubby said the only truth on the box is the contents.

Horrendous piece of kit

Horrendous piece of kit! How are they still allowed to sell this. Bought mine from world bestsellers, I asked for a refund due to the fact it is not fit for purpose at all, but they won’t refund. Do not buy!

If I could have given it zero stars I would have. They company producing this should be investigated for fraud . Shocking bit of kit . I’d have been better putting semi skimmed milk into the roller for it to work . 29.99 down the pan as returning this would be pointless

Definitely one of the worst buys I have…

Definitely one of the worst buys I have ever made. It really does not work, the paint just sits in the tube and the odd tiny bit slithers out occasionally. I emptied the roller and tried a different paint, same thing. So I tried watering down the paint, a little bit of water... No difference, a bit more water, again nothing came out. It took until the paint was so watered down it was no longer paint for it actually come out onto the wall. It's probably good for whitewash but definitely not paint. Save your money and use a roller and a brush, it will save you a lot of frustration and wasted paint. I hate throwing things away but this is going in the bin.

Not good paint has to be thinned down

Not good. you have to thin the paint down to make it work. paint should not really be thinned. the coverage is not good. best use a lambswool roller and a decent brush. for a far better job. this is a gimmick. looks good on the jml ads but thats cos the paint is thinned specially for them.

How to Use a Paint Runner Properly

I've used my paint runners for over 20 years. I have two No. 1 is a bit tatty now and No. 2 is still going strong. I'm fussy about paint finishes and if you get it right the Paint runner is great.

Comments here are polarised between bad and excellent. This shows that some people know how to use it while others do not and the latter get the bad results. It's not complicated but you need to know the following to get good results.

Thinning the emulsion paint is vital just as if you were spraying paint. Those who say professionals don't thin paint are wrong. I don't remember the exact ratio but it is probably 3 parts paint to one part water. I do it by appearance now - it should have the thickness of single cream. If it's too thin the paint will ooze out and if too thick it won't roll out evenly. You will need more than one coat but this is normal for emulsion.

The finish is something between a brush finish and a traditional roller - not as smooth as a brush and not as textured as a roller. There is very little mess if you get the paint thickness right. The edging roller is not so great so I usually use a brush for edges. Hope this helps.

Never again

Like everyone else's reviews, I bought this 6 months ago off a sky shopping channel, gone to use now, you have to push so hard to get the paint out, when it comes out, it's uneven, so you end up going over the same bit,10 times to get even coverage, defeats the object, threw it in the bin after 20 mins, got my old rollers out, stick to what you know, complete waste of money.
