Was really easy to book, and very quick coming back to me about how to enter the property when we arrive.

Do not book with these people. First time using them. They accepted our booking, took our money - £620 for 4 nights and then the next day told us the property was already booked out even though it was available on their site. No offer to find anything else, difficult to contact as the emails they send you are ‘no reply’. Finally got an email back saying they would process our refund within 10 WORKING DAYS!! After several more emails from me stating this was totally unacceptable as they were effectively stealing money by taking a booking they couldn’t fulfil, we received the refund back. We ended up booking with Air B n B and had a great experience.

Booked last week the price clearly stated £417 (I have screenshot of this) now trying to charge me £438! Shocking ! Not replying to my emails and I’m going on Saturday I would never book with them again. Beware of the con! Update- can’t get through on the phone to sort the problem keep you hanging on hold. I redialled after a few attempts and chose the’ I want to book option’ lo and behold I got thru in 2 rings! When I asked for complaints they put me on hold again so I redialled chose the I want to book option and and refused to be put on hold . The person agreed that I should not have to pay the additional money and it was sorted however a morning was wasted getting through to them and there was no apology

Booked a weeks stay in a cottage in North Uist. With no warning, and even no explanation, the holiday was cancelled leaving us with nowhere to stay.
They only allow you 24 hours from booking to cancel yourself, but apparently they can cancel the stay whenever they want.

Always book with Sykes and never have any problems.

Cottage we stayed at in cornwall was lovely. Nothing negative to say about the experience of the actual stay.
Not great first experience with sykes cottages customer support though. Had already lost out on another cottage as was booking for a stay in about 3 weeks time and wanted to lock something in. Saw they had a flexible cancellation option at an extra £75 so while my wife was deciding i wanted to secure this first so went ahead and booked and on he off chance we did want to switch later that day it should be fine. Found another cottage we liked about 2 hours later that was slightly better located so had a look at cancelling. Turns out the system had detected i was booking close to the booking date so had to pay full amount which was no problem. But also turns out that when you cross the point of paying the full amount it also voids the flexible cancellation and if you cancel after that you lose all your money.
Fair enough that's the policy but seems off to still go ahead and charge the flexible cancellation fee when the system has already detected it is null and void and cannot be actioned on. Contacted customer service to ask for a refund just on the flexible cancellation as i couldn't use it and now had to stick with the booking and was told nope too bad by 2 separate support members about getting a refund on just the flexible cancellation fee.

Comfortable accommodation in a superb location.

Booking easy as always. But caused much confusion with an amendment which did not have any bearing on holiday. Do not need to worry customers, when there is a change between you and owners unless it makes changes. Property not up to normal standards

Each property we have stayed in has been of high quality. Comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean . We have stayed in Cumbria ,Yorkshire and have now booked the Cotswolds.

Excellent website, booked several times in the past , always had a good experience .

The apartment was well equipped, tastefully furnished and in a convenient location for restaurants and public transport. Little thoughtful touches by the owner made it a home from home. Would recommend.

Always easy to book on the website, easy to follow, and amend if necessary.
Payment is very good, lists as and when payments are due, easier for budgeting.
All in all a good website, and company, have booked a few holidays with them, never yet disappointed.
