TAXI Music Reviews 

I signed up for TAXI with high hopes, but after going through the process, I feel the need to share a few honest thoughts for others considering it:

1. You Need to Be Almost Industry-Level Already
This service isn’t for artists who are still developing their craft. Unless your music sounds like it could be placed on the radio or in a film tomorrow, you're likely to get rejected. The standards are extremely high, and that’s not made clear enough up front.

2. Not for Beginners
TAXI doesn't help you grow as an artist. It's more like a gatekeeper or match service for people who are already there. If you're looking for guidance, development, or support, look elsewhere.

3. English Only (Though They Don't Say That Clearly)
Most listings are for English-language songs, and if you submit anything else—even if it’s well-produced—it will likely be dismissed. I wish TAXI had made that clearer in the beginning.

4. Accents Can Be a Problem
This part was particularly discouraging. Even a slight accent in your vocals seems to be a disqualifier for many listings. It feels like there's very little room for vocal diversity or global talent unless the listing specifically says so.

5. One Small Flaw = Rejection
Screeners are extremely critical. If there’s even a minor issue—flow, mixing, lyrics, etc.—your submission will get returned. The feedback can be useful at times, but often feels rigid or dismissive.

Overall, TAXI might work if your music is already at a professional level and fits very specific commercial molds. But for most indie artists or those with a unique style or background, it’s more frustrating than helpful. I expected a more open, constructive platform, but instead found one that feels overly narrow and opaque.

Waste of time and money, bad customer support

Do not waste your money with this company they are not legitimate. And they will forward your music to people who are just as sketchy as they are. Shameful that they continue to take money from artists. Just don’t do it, use your money for better things and pass on these guys, 100% sure of this.

Its for JINGLE and Rock Bite writers period! Who are mass producing targeted soundbites that an analysis is more warranted for.
They should not give examples of 1990s rock bands if the listing is looking for more short form jingles or STYLES of rock or pop that are not full fledged songs, unless the songs are already famous

Meanwhile Johnny Donny from New York is getting 500 syncs because he writes cereal box music. Good for corporate Donny!

I'm giving them 3 stars because they do not tell people up front that Taxi is mainly for advert movie bite syncing and not for general pop/rock recreational music (long form)

The $300 per annum is steep...with no guarantees your music will ever be heard by the right industry exec. Then the submission fee on top of that...it's not the best value for money. It's like paying a yearly fee for gym membership, then still having to pay everytime you go for a workout!!

I went to the Taxi Road Rally conference in November 2023 and it was as awesome and amazing as those I attended in past years. Taxi brings so many leaders and experts in the music industry to the conference. We are on the road to becoming Keynote Concert speakers from attending a workshop in 2022 and taking the training with Tiamo de Vittori. I highly recommend joining TAXI.

I have noticed over the last two months or so, all I've been getting from TAXI is call for 'dispatch' opportunities. Surprisingly these cost more than the calls I used to receive. I wonder whether I've unwittingly set a filter on my computer only allowing the more expensive calls through? Pease advise.

I've been a member of Taxi for just under three years at this point - the learning experience is multi-faceted; folks from many backgrounds and levels of experience all come together to support each other. Truly a pay-it-forward community. My successes have been stepping stones in the right direction, and I am gaining traction where I never would be able to from my location far away from L.A.

A true sanctuary of the music industry. They've been around for 30+ years and they've been a beacon of connecting music creators with a dream and no connections to music executives in search of music. They provide so much mentorship and access, especially at their free 4 day convention in LA every November. Nothing compares to TAXI!

I've been with Taxi for many years now and if it wasn't for Taxi, I wouldn't have learned about writing for sync and have the many placements I do now. The annual Road Rally convention alone is worth the membership fee. The offer tons of education with a forum, Taxi TV, and the Road Rally convention. Like anything else, you get what you put into it, nothing is an instant path to stardom or success. They provide great tools if you use them. As Abe Lincoln once said, "Don't believe everything you read on the Internet".

As soon as you start submitting music and you get their pro feedback, it'll put you on the path you need to be on with your music. They give you so much more than what it costs you.

If you're serious about making music at a professional level, either a song writer, artist or composer, then TAXI is right up there for getting into the business.

It has to be remembered that there is no easy path into professional music and there are no guarantees either, but if you are serious about giving it a go, I would say TAXI is one of the best ways to progress.

I appreciate Taxi for their Quick Responses, Kind and Thoughtful Feedback on submissions and for being proficient and knowledgeable about the craft of songwriting, sound and production.

They provide a service and do what they say. The rest is up to you. Invaluable IMHO.

Some of these reviews just boggle the mind. Taxi is a completely legitimate company, to say otherwise is foolish. I can only guess that it’s the reviewers expectations that are clouding their judgement. Film and TV sync is very competitive and you must get used to rejection as it never goes away, regardless of your level of success. Taxi basically offers it’s members two things. The first is listings from music libraries or music supervisors looking for music. You pay $5 per song to submit (if they didn’t charge a nominal fee members would overwhelm them with submissions). Do they reject a majority of the submissions? Yes. IMO probably too much, however that is them trying to protect their brand - they want these music libraries and music supervisors to keep using their services successfully. It’s completely above board and the success stories are real. The second thing they offer their members is a free ticket to their annual convention. I joined 15 years ago and
It took me 5 years to attend this event for the first time. I’ve been every year since. That’s me flying from Toronto to LA and spending 5 nights at the Westin LAX, so a commitment of time and money. The Taxi Rally conference brings together a group of like minded people who share information and inspire each other to be better. The networking opportunities are awesome. If don’t go at least once, then you’re wasting your membership fee. So if we’re rating things, I give them 5 stars for their conference and 3 stars for their listings.

I've belonged to Taxi for about 4 years now and just recently attended my third road rally and each time I go, I just learn so much more and meet so many amazing people. The first year it was a little intimidating, as I was a newer artist and wasn't sure what I was doing but Taxi has created a company to help in so many phases of your music career, and this Road Rally was filled with so much information that I can't imagine anyone joining Taxi and not attending the convention. I've been submitting songs for placements but they need some improvement in the production and I met dozens of producers willing to collaborate and in addition, received so much positivity from everyone, I can't even begin to express what it meant to me, other than accelerating my learning curve and getting me motivated to be better. I am so grateful to Taxi for existing and for this convention!

Taxi literally does what they claim the do. They help and connect musicians to make money with their music. They have done this time and time again. Signing up for taxi is just scratching the surface. IMO, the road rally is the magic because of the connections and learning you accomplish there. Sign up, submit music, and do yourself and your music career an enormous favor……GO TO THE ROAD RALLY! You will never regret doing so.

Just the convention is worth the membership. Such a great opportunity to learn and network with so many experienced people in the industry.

It really is a marathon and not a sprint, building the skill and catalog to be successful in sync takes a long time, and a lot of learning from your failures, and TAXI makes a great job of educating and providing access to briefs.

I'm so grateful to Taxi.. I became a member a year ago. I have not gotten placement yet, but what I have gotten is the tool kit to help me hone my craft and become even better.

Every time you submit to a listing, the screeners take the time to tell you why your song was or was not chosen. They even have an amazing free conference every year ) for members and one guest) where industry professionals teach and answer questions. I just got to play my music for some of the very music supervisors I had been trying to reach for years

There's an incredible community there. I'm collaborating with so many artists that I have met as a result of Taxi. Michael and the whole team invest so much into the members, so invest in yourself by becoming a member

Been with Taxi for 2 years. The annual fee is worth it just for the conference! There are so many educational opportunities to take advantage of and if you really take what is taught to heart you will understand the industry better and what it takes to have some successes. You can get this from the conference as well as from all the additional resources Taxi offers. On top of that, throughout the year you have the opportunity to submit your music to library owners, music supervisors, record labels, etc. This often leads to relationships that will lead to additional opportunities. 2 years in and I’m with multiple libraries and have gotten to know the owners and the kind of music they are looking for. To be transparent I have not had any placements but because of the educational side I haven’t really expected it at this point. My goal is continue to build my repertoire and let the library owners do their job in getting the placements. Highly recommend!
