Bought Toshiba 43 UF tv seven months…

Bought Toshiba 43 UF tv seven months ago and had trouble with picture failure and chànnels changing although still under guarantee no joy from retailer has to be sent back for repair surely technology today should last longer than seven months!
Had a television engineer round today to inspeçt and diagnose the problem at my expense, cheçk aerial etc but to no avail.
My Wife who is recovering from Cancer relies on this medium being house bound, but no sympathy from the retailer.
Surely technology today should last longer than 7 months.....Do not buy Toshiba products!!!!

Lasted 2 1/4 years. Rubbish all round

Lasted 2 1/4 years. Terrible customer service from Toshiba and argos alike. Kept getting fobbed off. Was told to take the tv to a dealership to prove what's wrong even tho their diagnostics said it was the panel. They make it as hard as possible to get a partial refund which was all I was asking. Its on the wall I'm unable to get it anywhere as disabled. Would've cost me much more money to pay someone to do this. So lost the money and the tv... Rubbish tv would never buy again. Save your hard earned cash

When I first got our Toshiba 55 fire…

When I first got our Toshiba 55 fire tv, it was ok. But as more time passed the interface progressively got worse and worse. It became so frustrating that it at times would make the tv unusable. Not sure yet if I’m almost convinced they programmed it this way to force people to buy a new tv after a few years…

Absolute terrible TV and customer service.

Absolute terrible customer service. Phoned in December 2024 to advise the television had problems and was advised this was a well-known issue and they would send a USB to fix the problem. The issue was not fixed and appeared March 2024. I tried to contact customer service by their chat and then 2 emails which were ignored. I finally got through on the phone in March 2024 where the lady told me there was nothing they could do as it was out of warranty. I advised the initial problem started in December 2024 when the television was still in warranty, I reported the issue and it had not been resolved. I provided my initial Ticket number. I requested there should be some compensation or provision of a new television as they had sold me a faulty product not fit for purpose. She denied this and advised as the television was out of warranty I should contact the person the company that sold me the television. I advised her they would send me back to her as the problem was their television as they sold me a faulty television. Interestingly enough while not admitting it was a faulty television, she did say there was a new patch that would be brought out in the next few weeks to months, and I should hold on on wait for that. Very helpful now I have a faulty television which is really impossible to use and waiting for them to provide a patch; what do I do in the meantime. As she could not provide any solutions, I requested a manager phone me back to discuss the issue. This was seven days ago and still there has been no contact. This appears to be a general theme with Toshiba they ignore you once they've got your money.

TV/Freeview software so slow

I have two Toshiba TV's and the interaction with TV/Freeview guides, menus etc is shockingly slow (when it works at all). Customer service only advised updating system, which of course was already done, surprised they didn't ask me to switch it off and on again........

Less than helpful customer service and worthless warranty

We bought a combination microwave oven on 27th December 2023 from our local Euronics store. I paid with my card and got a printed debit card receipt at the time of purchase. We didn't use the convection oven facility until 6th March, when we tried to reheat a meal and discovered that the oven wasn't reaching anywhere near the heat it was set at. I emailed their customer services who suggested I unplug it for a while, then turn it on again (it didn't work). Then they asked for pictures of where it was located in the kitchen, the inside of the oven, a picture of the barcode sticker on the back (even though I'd already told them the model and serial numbers). Crucially, they also wanted a picture of my proof of purchase, which I didn't have because once the payment had cleared our bank, it got "filed". I did offer to provide a copy of the payment from my bank statement but apparently that isn't good enough for a claim under warranty! They suggested that I should return it to the retailer and request that they deal with it but that would be entirely "at their discretion". So basically, we bought what we thought was going to be a decent brand with a warranty and backup. Instead it turns out we got a faulty product and after only a few weeks, the manufacturer doesn't want to know because they won't accept a bank statement as proof of purchase. It will be the last time I'll buy a Toshiba product.

AVOID TOSHIBA, & go to Panasonic!!

Wish I had checked out the reviews before purchasing my Toshiba Microwave. Apparently, supposed to be one of the which.co.uk best buys... However, cannot deal with steam, as breaks coating down after 18 months!! Customer service couldn't care less too, wish I had stuck with Panasonic microwave as they last 10 years plus like my previous one

This company’s tvs are so bipolar

This company’s tvs are so bipolar. I have one in my bedroom and my parents have one in the living room. Both of them do the exact same things as each other. Me thinking it was just my tv. The on and off light flashes whenever it wants to when turned off. When I do turn it on sometimes it just stays black but the on button is on. It freezes whenever it wants to and now my remote barely works and have to press it so hard to get the volume up. Don’t trust this brand anymore. Actually a waste of time. Now reading it’s apparently not a Japanese company anymore? Yeah nothing like it used to be sort it out

Rubbish, don't bother, you WILL regret it.

Bought a Toshiba TV, not made as it turns out by Toshiba but by Vestel who pays Tosh for their name, exceptionally poor quality item, failed after only 4 weeks, a situation compounded by an authorised repair centre who damaged the TV and then denied doing so, sending a picture of the TV after repair (it was turned on, the fault was it doesn't turn on, elementary mistake) to demonstrate how it was received like it. refund issued by retailer.

Rubbish

Absolutely crap. Two and a half years old and my 50 inch TV has horizontal lines running across the screen.
Should last longer than this, clearly poor quality product. I used to think Toshiba was a good brand clearly not any longer, I will never purchase anything of theirs again.

Total Rubbish product and service from Toshiba

Bought a 43" Toshiba TV from Argos September 2023 it has not worked properly from day one. Constantly locking up, going out of sync, rejected remote control and telling me awaiting data. Total rubbish. Contacted Argos and was told that they would refund or credit once Toshiba tech team issued a fault number. After contacting Toshiba Tech Support I was told that a USB pen would be sent containing updated software. Received this today and it was empty! Contacted Toshiba again and told that these pens may not work but I can wait for new software once released. This to be downloaded to the TV. I asked how this would happen when the TV doesn't work. Their tech support is useless and unfriendly. Exhausting the conversation, as Toshiba support is as bad as their product, I went back to the Argos contact number to be told that I needed to contact Argos sales and was given a new phone number. After waiting on the phone with this new number I ended up back at tech support. Totally impossible to get anywhere with this and left with a product that isn't fit for purpose. Argos, please remove Toshiba products from you range or help better with your own customer service.

Note: Just recovered the USB pen supplied to find what appears to be an Android file system. The file "upgrade_image_no_tvcertificate.pkg" is the only one that I don't recognize. Not sure how this self-extracts or boots at start up....there again, I just want to watch the telly.

Like so many others here I’d put a 0…

Like so many others here I’d put a 0 star for 50” Toshiba smart tvs. Purchased from Argos just over 2 years ago. Picture has horizontal lines, which morph into freezing and pixelation right across the screen. TVs lifespan is at least 5yrs. my advise …. Don’t buy these TVs.

planning to buy Toshiba TV?, think twice before you go for it

Iam writing this review on the 17.01.2024 From my experience i would say never go for Toshiba TV. I bought a 50inch tv from Nesto Sharjah in 25 Aug-2023, which broke down after 2 months, have got it checked and came to know the mother board of the tv is faulty. since then i have approached Nesto, Jumbo service, either of the parties are unable to give me proper reply yet. Nesto says to contact jumbo service, while jumbo guys says the part is not available. not sure what to do now, hence i am writing this review for those who plan to by Toshiba TV in the future, you must think twice befor you go for it.

Firstly Toshiba sold the trading name…

Firstly Toshiba sold the trading name to Turkish company who market TV's under the Toshiba brand name they design and make all the products themselves in Turkey.
The TV I have the HDMI signal has failed I now have a pinkish picture the tv is painfully slow and freezes it then can take up to 10 minutes to unfreeze.
I have always favoured Toshiba products but now I advise that the brand should be avoided completely remember the brand name is Japanese Quality it's not its Turkish .

Purchased a Toshiba smart tv from Argos…

Purchased a Toshiba smart tv from Argos just over a year ago. From new the picture freezes daily and also goes out of sync with the sound several times a day. I rang Toshiba and was informed it was a software problem and they sent me an update on a usb stick. It hasn’t solved the issue. I’m extremely angry that they think it’s ok to sell a product they know doesn’t work correctly. Needless to say I won’t be buying anything from them again.
