Traxxas has indirectly shut down HPI, HotBodies and dozens of companies under the Hobbico umbrella through frivolous lawsuits.... while many companies were chopped up and sold off to investors, there are many brands that will be gone forever as Traxxas has successfully obliterated their competition. If they keep this up, then they will eventually have a complete monopoly on the entire basher market.

Traxxas already has control of what spare parts their distributors can carry for competing brands or they will refuse offering a "dealer discount". There were a couple hobby shop owners posting up their experiences with Traxxas on RCTech explaining how they lost their distributor status after inspection of their shops.

Traxxas also forced DollarHobbyz into selling more expensive pre-packaged parts so they no longer are the cheapest place to get Traxxas parts as they can no longer chop up RTR's anymore.

It's 100% pure greed... and Traxxas has been driving prices up while keeping quality marginally acceptable so that products continue to break as they maximize their profit on spare parts which cost roughly the same price as luxury brands which are far higher quality and less likely to break when compared to Traxxas quality.

SOME CUSTOMER REPS ARE RUDE AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE

Customer service is a hit or miss. I had one representative that was just not willing to listen to what I was trying to explain to him. My issue was that I sent in a part to get repaired, but when they tried to ship it back, it was going somewhere else other then my location. I've read their Terms and Conditions and of course it does not state they don't ship to APO/FPO. My address was actually an APO (Army Post Office) which are considered domestic, but the guy kept telling me they don't ship over seas. It was kind of obvious he didn't know what he was doing. I asked for a different rep and he was able to change the address, we will see what happen!!!

HORRIBLE BATTERY /CHARGER Experience. DO NOT BUY until they change there battery/charger policy.

I have purchased and recommended Traxxas cars for years. NO LONGER. they have decided to add a DC Car Charger to charge the batteries. HOW Incredibly stupid this is. Most kids that get these RC Cars do not have access to DC vehicle cigarette lighters. Not to mention that most Vehicles after 2005 DO NOT allow power to the cigarette lighter unless the car is running. That results in having the vehicle running (Wasting Gas) for over 2 hours to charge the RC Battery. I have returned the 2 Slash 1/16 4x4 purchases and copied Traxxas on this review. What a shame. They could have included a $10 AD/DC converter charger to allow Home or Vehicle charging.
Gave 2 Slash 4x4 1/16 scale to relatives this past holiday and had to charge cars outside in 2 vehicles over 2 hours for 10 minutes worth of run time.

i used alot of money on a new x-maxx 8s and it was the worst crap i have tried. it keep burning the esc and motor, and after 7 esc's and 2 motors it got returnd to traxxas and they sid, The reason why it keep happening is because it hasn't been maintained the right way and how is that possible when it was new and i only used it for 5-10 min each time it died

and if you ask them about it on the traxxas facebook then you will get blacklistet

they got no service at all so no more traxxas and they can't be recommended to anyone

Bought xmaxx spent over 1800dlls in a …

Bought xmaxx spent over 1800dlls in a new 8s only had for less than a month and had so many issues. Water proof. It ain't Traxxas will not warranty it if u get water damage. Told me to send it in and they would fix it for free and that's what I did. They didn't. They still wanted to charge me. Servo , receiver and fans need replacement and they didn't want to fix it. So much for false claim in water proof. ITs not !!!!! Don't waste your money with Traxxas. The worst part every hobby shop I call they are even saying Traxxas will screw you over cause they are cheap and will never follow thru with their warranty they claim. You will always have issues. I'm a combat veteran and I use this for my ptsd and Tbi. I'm not rich and I spent my check on this to then be screwed over at the end. All they told me is that's why they have user manuals. So what do you have for legally blind disable people. No response. !!!!!!!!!

Both times I have called them they have sent me a replacement free of charge for whatever was not working. They didn't give me a hard time.
Also, very helpful if you have technical questions.

Bad Product and Service

Bought a brand new Traxxas car for my 8 year old for this birthday. The 2nd day he started using it the battery would not work. My husband called and spoke to a Tech they told him we needed to go to a battery/hardware store and test the batteries to see which one was bad and then get back to them. After spending $200 on a RC car its totally inappropriate for them to think we need to go figure out what was wrong and it's brand new. I don't have time for that so there it sits in its box!
Very unhappy!
