TruClothing was the birth child of a long-running family business that originally started in the early ’80s. Back then, 5 brothers came with nothing to the UK to make a better life for themselves and their families & had a vision of manufacturing, wholesaling & retailing natural leather goods such as bags and jackets.

The business grew from strength to strength, starting in the Petticoat lane market and then expanding to 30 stores across the UK at its peak!

Robert Wylie Suit

Looked at this suit on line, decided to go to there store in East Croydon, the staff were amazing, nothing was too much, a few alterations and a week and a half later, I went back to the store to collect my suit, fits so perfect, so happy with the suit and the professional service all the staff gave.
Would highly recommend TrueClothing.

Poor quality leather chelsea boots

The leather on a pair of £120 zip chelsea shoes cracked and parted where it joins the sole. This was after about 9 months of light use, but still somewhat disappointing quality. Never had a pair of shoes last such a short time. Truclothing will not honour an exchange.

Ordered my suit online

Ordered my suit online, through Amazon, looked at all the reviews on both sites before I ordered. The suit was a 1920’s Madrid style of suit in Navy with red detail, It was mostly highlighted that the sizes were wrong….😱
I am a 42/44”chest and a 34/36”waist,
So…. I highlight that if you order suits from here, then order (at least) -2x sizes BIGGER….!
Suit was delivered basically the following day, which was great…
I tried on straight away, Good fit, blazer was slightly tight but ok…. 👍
They didn’t do this style in a 48” chest which probably would have been perfect…! BUT the trousers would have been too Big.. @ 42” waist
So.. I purchased a 46”chest size which meant the trousers that come with this size were a 40”waist - these were a perfect fit, if I had gone up another size to 50”chest, it would have been massive… please take Note of this.

Service is atrocious

The customer service has not been very helpful. If you are returning then it costs you, The measurements are not correct as to what is stated more like 2 sizes different. They are rude and abrupt and i will not be using them again and neither will the 20 other people that bought from them that have had hassle! Avoid!!

It’s been a painful experience

It’s been a painful experience. Ordered a suit which came in the wrong size, their sizes are all wrong. The suit wouldn’t go anywhere near me. Even my partners who’s even smaller struggled to get it on. There was then issues with them finding my order number for me to return it. Eventually they were able to locate the order but wasn’t able to do this through their website. Returned the suit and ordered 3 sizes bigger than my normal size and it fitted. However we’d decided to go more formal and wear dinner jackets and wasn’t happy with the material, didn’t know this as wasn’t able to wear the other suit as too small, so returned the item. Now they’re refusing to refund and are saying that all the tags had been removed so could have been worn, but they’re happy to send it back at a cost to me. The suit has clearly never been worn, I never removed any tags - I can see this is an ongoing issue in some of the reviews. Really disappointing and a problem I’ve never had with established brands. I’ve taken the issue up with AMEX.

Dry Cleaning + Refund Issues

Dry Cleaning + Refund Issues: (Croydon Branch)
The guys are polite and friendly until you have a genuine customer services issues.
1) Please beware that purchasing a suit with suede trim cannot be dry cleaned, as non-colour fast material will bleed or run when dry cleaning.
2) Reputable dry-cleaners refused to dry clean due to poor material issues.
3) TruClothing refused to full refund and only offered exchange. I was very fortunate to buy via credit card and got refund through bank charge back.
4) We purchase products in good faith, how can they expect clothes to be warn once and unable to dry clean. They need to verify material with their suppliers.
5) If you decide to purchase from shop, please ensure they guarantee dry cleaning

Failed to Deliver & Refund £9.99 for Saturday…

Paid an Extra £9.99 for Saturday delivery well within the 3.30pm time limit and they failed to deliver so I contacted their customer service and twice been told it would be refunded but it hasn't. Total scam and automated AI chat that doesn't care about their service. TRUCLOTHING just lost a customer who was about to buy a 3 piece suit.

Suit choice

I came to the shop with my son a matching coloured suit which looked amazing on the day. Great customer service and treated me with lots of respect by Imran. Would definitely recommend to come again.

Sizing issues

The only issue I had was with the Sizing I ordered a UK sized 42 inch chest jacket and waistcoat which came with a 36 inch waist trousers when delivered i tried it on and the sizing was more like a 38 inch chest and 32 inch waist. I had no time to keep resending the items as I was due to go to a wedding within a week and would have most likely to have had to take the items to a tailor if I'd have sent back and requested 2 sizes higher than my actual size. I had no issue with sending back and getting a refund the company were very helpful and I urge people who are buying for special occasion to buy in advance as this will give time to send back and replace and possibly use tailor for alterations. Don't buy from a third party buy direct from the site or get the app. The material was quality and for the price a snip at what I actually ended up paying out on a suit for leaving things late would recommend you use if buying a few months in advance.

Needlessly complicated delivery

Needlessly complicated delivery. I should not have to sign for a £30 item. No standard delivery options, all premium couriers - completely unnecessary. No option to provide delivery instructions like leave it in a safe place or with a neighbour. I was out the first day DHL tried to deliver, so stayed in the next day deliberately to wait for their parcel - courier didn't even ring my doorbell, just slipped a "Sorry we missed you" card into my letterbox. DHL only "attempt" delivery twice anyway but by that point it was too late and I no longer had a use for the item so I sent it back for a refund.

TruClothing customer service very unprofessional and rude. Implied it was my fault. Got defensive about their delivery options.

Awful company, awful employees, awful couriers. Do not order from TruClothing.

Patronising, rude and non existent customer service!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Terrible company. Ordered a suit, paid £16 for next day delivery by 10.30 am. Did not end up coming for another 4 days. Emailed them for a full refund and also to refund the delivery as the service bought was not provided. Not only have they not apologised for not providing a service I paid for, that they also advertised, the “customer service” team have been rude and patronising. Safe to say if I have any issue getting my refund, I will be going through the banks fraud department. Will never purchase from again.

As annoying as it has been them not meeting the next day delivery I paid for, I would have been much more understanding if I had been met with good customer service but given how I have been spoken to not only will I never buy from again but I want to make sure others are aware who they are buying from. Avoid at ALL costs!

Thanks for your message. I’d like to clarify a few things, as it seems there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the delivery service you selected.

As we have stated to you several times via email, you chose the Next Day by 10:30 am option, which, as clearly outlined at checkout and in our shipping policy, applies to Monday–Friday deliveries only. Your order was placed on a Thursday evening (after our cut-off time), meaning the next available delivery day was Monday, and that’s exactly when your parcel arrived.

If your intention was to receive the item on a Saturday, the Saturday Delivery service would have needed to be selected at checkout. Unfortunately, that wasn’t done.

We fulfilled your order correctly and within the timeframe of the service you selected. While I understand this may not have matched your expectations, all relevant information was made available at the time of purchase.

We’d recommend reviewing the service details more carefully in the future to avoid similar misunderstandings.

If I could give less than one star

If I could give less than one star, I would. They refused a refund, stating I removed a tag, which I did not. I have called twice to speak with some on was told i would get a call back the next day this did not happen. Having looked back, I am not the only customer this has happened to. Stay well clear; it's an absolute scam. To top it off, they offered to return the suit, but I have to pay for postage. Go somewhere else.

Added 3rd July after eventual response from truclothing.

I will not remove the review my interaction with your company is what the review is about. I have put a complaint to Debenhams about their part in this issues.

Shambles

Wow, what a truly unforgettable experience!

I tried to buy a jacket for my wife's birthday – simple enough, right? Apparently not. Upon realising the initial size didn't fit, you managed to send the wrong size twice when I was trying to replace it. I ordered a large, but got a medium both times. Bonus points for creativity though – the second time, someone in the warehouse had seemingly cut out the size label, presumably hoping I’d just assume it magically transformed into a large. Genius.

The apology? Oh yes, a masterclass in barely-there remorse. So heartfelt I almost felt bad for you. And the refund(s)? That took only a few short weeks of relentless chasing. Because obviously, the best part of a bad shopping experience is getting to work for the privilege of my money back.

All in all, this was a top-tier exercise in how not to treat a customer. If you're thinking of shopping here, maybe just… don't.

Avoid like it's a clearance rack of disappointment.

Truclothing are nightmare.. I ordered my son a throbe which was too big so I sent it back which they received 26th march. I still not received REFUND.. Debenhams who tell me to wait 15 working days.. I’m
Sorry why should I wait as 15 working days when I brought through Debenhams. I will b chasing PayPal.
I brought another throbe for my other son size large omg they sent me XL I couldn’t b bothered send it back as I’ve not received my first refund from this company.
Avoid company take to long to refund..
the item been returned to your company 16th march n it’s the 28th April I’m still awaiting a refund..
Debenhams telling to contact tru clothing n now your telling me to contact debenhams..
I will avoid at all cost to purchase from your company..
Debenhams or tru clothing at fault here all I want is a refund..
