There is no way to get help when you need it, and they have no refund policy! I had a problem being able to access content in the U.K. tunnel. Tried the solutions recommended on the website, to no avail. Sent several e-mails, got no response. I couldn't find a number to call, finally canceled my subscription. No refund, even though I paid for a year without being able to access any of the content I wanted since the day I paid.

They suck! Do not use! Don't waste your money on TunnelBear.

Tweeted several times for the 1GB but no reply, servers disconnecting too. don't waste your time with them.

What a lot of rubbish. They offer a few MB as the Free subscription, which is ok, but then offer another 1GB if you tweet, which I did. They said they would see the tweet and credit your account immediately. I tweeted - no credit, so I tweeted again. Still no credit. It is clearly a scam to get you to upgrade. People really need to avoid this outfit. Totally unreliable and I am unconvinced it delivers what it says.

Total Rip off. The program does not work, connections simply fail, no error messages, help pages are useless and support desk is a phantom, you might as well ask your grandmother for support, at least she will answer you. Don't buy

Been using their free service for a week, subscribed through TechRadar to receive an additional 5Gb. So far on windows pc and iOS it's worked fine, speeds have dropped on iOS 4G from 60Mbps to around 17Mbps but this is to be expected with using a VPN, I note another reviewer leaving low rating because of this but they don't seem to understand there will always be a drop in speed.
I too have not received my twitter 1Gb bonus usage despite a couple of tweets via TunnelBear app but I have contacted them via their webpage and am waiting a response.....follow up. I had TunnelBear email me saying my twitter account was not linked to my TunnelBear account, soon after I replied with the details as promised I received the 1gb bonus.
So far tho I am happy with using this VPN, it's been reliable and easy to use with no dropouts and just works.

Regarding another review slating TunnelBear, and praising Nordvpn, I'd advise you to go read NordVPN app feedback on the iOS store, many unhappy users with poor speed and constant disconnections etc.

Do your own research on vpn's, you will find TunnelBear is in fact listed as No.5 on Tech Radar's best VPN's of 2017, another reviewer that slated them as being something like No.20 on the list which just isn't true.

2 week update.
Been happy with this vpn provider, it always connects, easy to use, no issues. I like that I can easily turn it on or off.

After weeks of problems using TunnelBear, I was told that they cannot promise good and reliable service. I have requested compensation, which they organised for, but also cancelled my account without letting me know it.
Now they tell me that I can reapply (at a higher price) but do not explain why they have cancelled my subscription without my instruction.
They used to be very good. Not any more, I am afraid!

Update
TunnelBear now advises they have right to cancel my subscription at any point, without advising why, though they admit that this was their mistake and apologise for it. Also, they confirm I can subscribe again (not sure why the suggest that, if they invoke their right to cancel my subscription without explaining why) but the price will be more than double of what I have been paying for the past four years - strange to see how they treat loyal customers..

TunnelBear confirm that there is nothing they could do about this, much as they again admit their mistake, and that getting an upgrade (at 100% higher rate) is the only way to go. They also failed to provide information on their regulatory body. Quite sad!

In what, succinct as it is, appears to be their "full and final" reply to my query, TunnelBear stated they have "no further details to provide". To be honest, they have admitted making a mistake, apologised for it, but strangely refused to correct it or do anything else about it. Problems with service are enough to make it difficult to continue using them, It is obvious why their rating is getting lower and lower, but customer service problems are making it impossible to believe they are a professional and customer friendly company they used to be. Pity indeed!

Epilogue - 14/10/2017
I've now managed to open an account wth Nord VPN. It was highest rated VPN service, first over the past couple of years compared to TunnelBear who are now somewhere below position 20. Much faster customer service (on line chat compared to 24-48 hours reply by e-mail from TunnelBear, though it was sometimes faster recently) and more VPN options. it is strange, though, that I am now 15-20% paying less than I used to pay for TunnelBear and 50% less than contract TunnelBear insisted I take once they have by mistake closed my old contract. Not sure if TunelBear is trying to get rid of old (loyal0 customers in order to be more profitable and financially support their move to new premises, but NordVPN is for now everything I need, and much more reliable at considerably lower price.

TunnelBear customer support is NON -Existent !!!! I have contacted them for over a MONTH and to this date NO ONE has even given me the curiosity to remotely reply. They have this twitter scam going and it's merely a pseudo to get you to tweet on their behalf. Very Disappointed in this service. There has been NO atonement on TunnelBear behalf ?

If Tunnelbear works OK then fine. If you have problems then their Customer support is non-existent. I've had connection problems following a change to fibre optic and a new router. Despite requests for help absolutely no response. Am unhappy and will not renew.

Free version is waste of time!!! It might work (i cant say)...it start up when my pc is open, so i might use all 500point (that work for like 5minutte if you watch video).

Absolute garbage, the reviews saying it is good must be paid reviews. I have premium and connections are unreliable that is when you can actually get a connection that works. Anything other than loading a webpage i would not recommend.

The application on both mobile phones and PCs is visually pleasing. They offer several locations. But I contacted the support regarding the speed I was having on the Brazil server because it was bad. I got no response within 24 hours. Later, I received a response saying that it was normal to lose speed when using a VPN service. I am in Europe, and I know that speed would be affected by the connection to another continent. But I've had several VPNs from Brazil, and this is sincerely bad. Since TunnelBear does not return the money (I've applied within the first 24 hours), they can basically do whatever they want. Think twice before buying a VPN here.

Still very very satisfied! Works perfectly wherever I go! The last few months l've been travelling SE Asia and have had no probs at all. Works superb. Looking forward to watching Wales v England tonight on the iplayer from Kandy, Sri Lanka! Swing low......,

Discovered a number of reason why l needed a VPN (if you know about VPN's you'll know what l'm talking about and if you don't, search the web. You'll soon find out why having one of these is really important for lots of reasons!). Anyway, the first one l found was Tunnel Bear then l spent several days researching the web looking for 'the best VPN'! There are hundreds and clearly there are a handful who consistently come highly recommended. However, for a number of reasons l came back to Tunnel Bear and so please l did. With this little thing, which you can run on 5 different devices all at the same time (if necessary) for unlimited usage, cost me $50 (£35) for 12 months. I needed it for both my wife and l for security and certain downloads/streaming and it works brilliantly. The phone app & desktop (Apple/Mac Air) software is simplicity itself. Very easy to download and run and .......the 'Bears' are a cute touch. I'm sure the more higher priced (and highly recommended) VPN suppliers are very good but for a beginner Tunnel Bear for was superb, and its performance has been excellent. Would highly recommend.

In 24 hours of "using" tunnelbear I recieved no less then 3 emails commenting on the program, including that my free data was now spend. Mind you at this point I hadn't even used it actively.

A very user friendly VPN, with limited features. Works like a charm, and does the job! Would like to see more servers in the future, but overall a very good VPN!
