Don’t use them!!
Wanted to charge EUR 120 for some sand in the car!!! Took more than an hour to get the car. Would not recommend. The initial fee looked cheap, in the end paid extra for everything so more than doubled the price.
Avoid this company! Scammers!!!
Avoid this company! Scammers!!! Charge extra fees afterwards with some lame excuse. It takes many mails & phones to get your money back.
We had a little accident: someone made a little scratch on the car while it was (legally) parked. The person who caused the scratch filled in the insurance papers correctly, we took some pictures and gave everything to TurisPrime. A few days later 184,50 euro was taken from our credit card without any warning. We are 4 weeks later and we are still waiting for the refund. They had no right in the first place to bill us anything.
Don't used again, terrible services.
I rent a car + baby chair and the baby chair was disgusting, old and not properly secured for my baby, they didn't care about the situation. Also the car + baby chair wasn't cleaned or disinfected against coronavirus. Was a very stressful situation. Don't use!
I take pictures you can see.
AVOID! Shady persuasion methods (borderline legal?)
I’ve rented a car at Turisprime recently, good price, insurance included, car brand new. When I’m at the counter in Porto to pick it up my car, the “helpful”gentleman tries to persuade me to take an “extra insurance” which I refused, since I had just upgraded my own international assistance insurance and knew that I was well covered. At this point his tone changed to something blatantly intimidating and I got another 5min lecture on why I was doing a big mistake by not taking their extra insurance. When he realized that I was not buying any of it and that my insurance (+their basic insurance) was all I needed, he opens up the game and tells me: “fine, it’s your risk. but be aware that if you have an accident, even if your insurance covers every penny, we will just not return your deposit”. When I challenged this and said that it was likely ilegal since they would be compensated twice in that case, the totally surreal answer was that they didn’t care if it was legal or not; it was in the company’s terms and conditions which I had just signed and agreed to. So from that point onwards it was “legally binding”. Errr.... I’m not sure that’s how laws works, mate!
Fortunately I had no accidents so I never had the chance to confirm this. But someone should send them a bloody good lawyer as a “mistery client” to find out if this is true or he was just a poorly informed employee which questionable sales techniques.
On my side I have seen enough and have absolutely no plans to rent from them again. Sébastien
Turis Prime - Amazing experience, would definitely use again
Turis Prime - Lisbon airport
Having read a lot of scathing reviews about Turis Prime before our trip I was sceptical and anticipated a lot of issues. My girlfriend and I didn't renew our credit cards with enough time before our holiday and they are one of the few companies that will let you use a debit card so we didnt really have a choice.
I sorted car rental insurance here in the UK as ive been told getting rentalcars.com (The company we booked through) premium cover is a nightmare to claim through should anything happen.
Turis Prime in Lisbon is a 5 min shuttle bus drive away from the airport, they schedule the pick ups based on your rental time and because our flight was early there wasnt anyone there to meet us but after hunting around for 10 minutes we asked one of the other car hire reps and they informed us one would be along shortly.
We were served by Anastaysia Pryluka and she was amazing, so friendly and helpful. They did offer us additional cover for €202 but i declined because of our UK cover and this was totally fine, she didnt push or press us at all. We also purchased the dashboard sensor for going through Portugals highways tolls which cost €18. The other option is to go into a postoffice and pay so its much easier.
They then take a €420 security deposit to cover the full tank of fuel and any damage that might occur, this isnt covered under the UK insurance and I couldnt find a company who would cover it. So again a bit of a risk but we had no choice, the security deposit is however covered by the insurance they offer you, so its up to you whether or not you risk it.
We were given a Toyota Yaris which was brand new and immaculate not a mark anywhere, we still took lots of pictures and videos.
Ive read a lot that they try and sting you with a €120 cleaning fee when you bring the car back so we paid €20 to have the car cleaned before drop off.
We were served by Anastaysia when dropping it off. She was again polite and lovely. She did a quick check of the car and returned to us the €420 security deposit.
All in all I cant recommend these guys enough, we had a great experience. The whole trip cost us as follows:
£70 - 10 days car hire
£30 - UK car hire insurance
€18 - dashbord toll sensor
€1.34 - Toll fees
I really hope this review is helpful. Id read so many negative things about Turis Prime that a great experience was important to share.
I was so stressed after all those…
I was so stressed after all those reviews, but when renting in Faro there was no problem. Except paying extra fuel deposit and the highway box.
Good service - besides not picking up the phone.
Good service - no issue besides that they where hard to get a hold of in terms of picking up the car. Had to walk for 30 minutes to the pick up location.
CRIMINAL BUSINESS METHODS
The business practice here is blackmailing the customer at car return. In my case I was presented with fine print in Portuguese (not mentioned at pick up) where when the car is not meticulously clean inside...no traces of sand, a charge of €120 (one hundred and twenty) for vacuuming is due. At this time point the customer is about to miss his flight and easily blackmailed and robbed.
DO NOT BOOK - total con and horrible man at Porto airport
DO NOT book this car rental service - I wish I had read the reviews before booking. They are a complete con and make you take out additional insurance (at a huge price and even though you already have it) only to tell you at the end that you are not insured for things like grains of sand (!!) on the floor in the interior of the vehicle. You therefore have to pay a very large cleaning fee at the end, as they won’t even let you clean it out yourself! The man at the desk at Porto airport was also unbelievably rude and intimidating and even swore at us - just the most disgusting service and completely immoral. He also out right lied and told us that the shuttle wasn’t working. Luckily there was a lady behind the desk who corrected him and decided to actually give us what had been promised within the huge cost we ended up paying (a transfer to the airport - 10 mins drive away) or we would have been close to missing our flight.
I write this review as a warning: don't book at Turisprime
I write this review as a warning: don't book at Turisprime - it gave us a lot of stress on holiday.
We booked through Rentalcars at Turisprime, and we will never book with one of them again.
I should have read the reviews before booking: the same things happened to us at Turisprime Porto as too many other customers
1. Additional insurance: they told us we needed an additional insurance of €350 (for 2 weeks) because the insurance of Rentalcars was not valid in Portugal. This was strange because we paid a full extra insurance to Rentalcars. They couldn't show us a paper with information, we just needed to pay.
They warned us that otherwise we would be driving the car 'On your own responsibility'! They said that if anything would happen we would need to get the money back from Rentalcars which would not be easy.
We didn't comply but this gave us a lot of stress.
2. Charging for the highway: they charged €18 to get the toll system of the car operational.
This is money for nothing and not required in Portugal.
3. Car wash €250: upon return they told us the car was too dirty and we would be charged for extra car wash cost... Their was a little of seasand in the trunk: I have got pictures, you can hardly see it. Nothing one minute with a vacuum cleaner can't fix.
I got so angry, took the sand out with my bare hands. And then they dropped the claim... Incredible...
4. no service at all
- pick up at the airport was not there
- we got a different car then booked
- the tone, the approach of the company was so negative that I would rather pay €200 more to another company and be treated correctly
5. The funny thing is the keys mentioned the car was from Avis/budget
Best
Good customer service assistance
I have a good experience in my first time renting a car in this company they gave me all the assistance that I needed its was easy, quick and cheaper. I had a good customer service assistance.
No recommend at all
No recommend at all
Worst rent a car I ever experienced
Need to walk from airport to the rent a car in Porto when in the voucher says that someone will be waiting at the point
When I arrived there no one was there and after long research I found out that we need to call them for pick up
Car was giving without window washer completely empty when I try to clean the front mirror on the way and day before return started showing service sign on dashboard even I didn’t drive much during that 6 days .
In the return big queue for collection and only 2 ladies working there plus one of them was the same who has to drive to pick and drop the clients from the airport
Took ages to return the car.
Very poor service
Never again worse car hire in 32 years
On voucher say pick up and drop off at airport late pick up and for drop off rude member of staff have the chic of asking me if I won't a lif to airport drop me off at arrivals instead of departures. Another annoying thing wrong address on voucher to drop car
Driving around Prior Velho for about 1 hour before finding place.
Cheating Lying Scamming Robbing B*strds
Cheating Lying Scamming Robbing B*strds
Gladly and with confidence, booked a car through the fabulous EasyJet with our flight. Expecting equally great things with this associated car hire company.
WRONG! Eventually found our "carwash employee" in the huge carpark, who grunted us towards an awaiting minibus, also driven by a "carwash employee".
Upon arrival at the car lot outside the airport, our grouch turisprime rottweiler spat out her demands, re upgrading our worthless "extra" insurance purchased via the EasyJet link. After dismissing her constant drivel and lies about our pre-booked insurance we moved onto the new add-on, the highway tracker. Unaware of this and not sure about our options about avoiding toll roads, we were persuade to include this kit, which is already in the car.
Okay, now let's check the condition of the car... No need. "Our colleague has already done it". That should have given us alarm bells. However, we were offered the time to check the car, after we sign their 4inch diagram of our reviewed car. With ticks and circles penned.
So, extras paid for, deposit taken, keys handed over. Now you can go look at the car!
On our review, it had lots more damage than their comprehensive report. When shown these images, I was informed they were only minor and wouldn't have been an issue. Even although some were worse than theirs.
I noticed there was no aerial, but a few cars didn't have any, and on starting the car up, the radio worked perfectly well.
Off we went. Go to our destination and parked up in our hotel private carpark. Unpacked and took a photo of the car
Blah blah blah... One week later, car back to TurisPrime, with no damage, clean and a full tank of fuel.
Cheers, mate, here's your car back.
Hmmm! They glanced at the car whilst talking to his mate. Back to his desk, not a word of concern. "So you pay for the toll miles and damage, all good to go, or we take your £320 deposit"
WHAT damage? You guessed it, the missing aerial. £32 please!
Queue or picture of the car with no aerial. No good sir, it wasn't taken on site and reported before you left!
Half an hour arguing, no use. Pay or we use your deposit. Scam complete
Another customer, "stole" the boot liner.
Stories of tiny scratches €450, a dirty interior €120, damage to the underside of the car?! Over charging and double charging for insurance...
SCAMMERS!
EasyJet, please lose association with such illegal traders. Your company works incredibly hard to keep it brand as good as it is.
Please distance yourself from such scummy traders.
Terrible company
Terrible company, they lie on everything, first they sell you an insurance which is not really an insurance and force you to take an insurance that is 150euros. Then, they sell you a dispositive for the highways and tell you it will pay for everything, one again, not true. When you give back the car they ask you to pay for all the highway fees and tell you that you actually paid for only the disposal. I really don't recomand them.
Avoid this rental company at any cost
Avoid this rental company at any cost. They are cheap with lots of hidden charges and very well trained rude employees. (Anastasia) being one of them. They wont pick you up at the airport. They are closed by 8pm to dont bother booking any pick up after 8pm (although they will accept yur booking and wont prewarn you that). Once you are there, you have no choice but to buy their insurance package regardless if you have any other packages that you've bought. Basically if you dont, even a hairline 2mm scratch and you will be charges Euro 200 plus as minimum repair charges. Oh another thing is if you dont buy the insurance, then be prepared with a credit card with Euro 2000 as deposit payment.
Their own employees said to me " We are not like the the profesional car hire company" "Dont compare us and them"..just pay the extra and got for the proper car rental companies.
Do not use this company ,they just want…
Do not use this company ,they just want to bleed money out of you ,.I dealt with them on the phone and they said they would give me a better deal at the office ,at faro airport. But when I got there they said that If I give them 160 € for the week on top of the 94 € that I paid on the phone then I would have nothing to worry about.Do not use these ,ever.
100% shady
The reviews are 100% accurate. This place is a scam - they will get you for normal wear and tear and will e tort you for upcharges. The place was so shady we walked out on a 90€ reservation after listening to all the conditions. It’s well known by the Portuguese in the algarve that many rental places profits are driven by this Type of scam. So if you hear super high insurance costs, additional costs per driver or anything, just leave it. Seriously don’t be tempted - choose a local option.
a tourist trap, don't buy it!
bad and unclear policies, a tourist trap
