GREAT Rates on Savings

GREAT Rates on Savings, but you always have to check to see if there are better rates available. Also, rates do go down and they do not inform you

Watch out for their underhanded rate upgrade policy

Yes, their interest rate is high, but if they create a new product with the higher/highest rate which they seem to do often, your now old product doesn't automatically get upgraded to the new rate. However, if the rates go down, boy they are right on top of that. I find this policy to be a clear attempt to cheat people out of the highest rate they offer. I shouldn't have to waste my time calling to get the rate upgraded to the new rate.

I have absolutely no complaints.

Their interest rate is always the highest. And when they offer a new product with a higher rate, all that is needed is to call support and ask to upgrade your account. I have absolutely no complaints, and have no problem with an occasional glitch on their home page.

I have attempted top open an account…

I have attempted top open an account but I am immediately rejected. They say my information is unverifiable or wrong but they will not give me any indication of what the problem is. They are absolutely unhelpful and I am so irritated at this issue. I will move along to another bank.

Do not open an account with this bank

Do not open an account with this bank. i traveled for Holidays and logged in from there. My Account got locked with 45k in it. I had to survive on returns from my investment with PlanOff to sort my hotel bills. This is a very bad way to treat your long time customer.

UFB Direct Classic "Bait and Switch"

UFB Direct uses offers of high yield savings to attract new customers. I deposited $10k with them for an advertised rate of 4.8%. 5 months later my actual APY is down to 3.91%. No notice. But, WAIT! They're offering everyone 4.81% APY in new "Premiere" accounts that are exactly like the one I had, but for the name. If I am logged in, I can't see that there is a newer, higher rate account available. But that's UFBDirect's splash page for potential new customers. This is BAIT and SWITCH. It's not the money...it's the principle. I'm closing my account.

STAY AWAY!!!!

2 words of advice: STAY AWAY. Horrible customer service. Their website needs massive help. I tried opening an account over a dozen times through the website and by calling in, each time it was rejected for no reason. They always said they would reach out to verify the information, yet never did, and my applications would always get rejected. When I tried resubmitting the application, I would need to open a new gmail account, because it wouldn't let me submit an application with a previously used email address.

Bank is legit, but app and website need work

First, this bank is doing what it claims to do. I have made a few deposits over the last 6 weeks and have watched the interest be deposited into the account. So, that’s been reassuring. I haven’t attempted to take money out yet, but can’t see why moving money the opposite direction would be a problem.
Also, a lot of people have said that customer service is difficult to work with. That has not been my experience. I have reached out via the messages section of the app twice and gotten responses within hours that solved the problem. The one time I called (when initially setting up the account), I got someone on the phone within 15 minutes.
The downside is that the app and website glitch a lot and can be very slow. I can usually give it an hour or a few hours and come back to it and it’s working. Just annoying.
So, overall, I was nervous about how legit this bank was because of some reviews and the website seeming to have problems, but have been pleasantly surprised that my money is there and earning interest! I’d like to see the bank spend more time, money, and manpower on improving the website and app experience.

Avoid this bank completely!

Avoid this bank completely!
Warning: when you transfer money in, they will set a $3000 dollar limit on your external transfer so you can't get your money out easily. And they make it very hard to increase this limit to "protect the safety of your account". The only way to increase this limit is through security message, and they didn't response it in days. Even when they did, they tried to say something else and ignored the request.

The customer service is a joke. There's this automatically thing which couldn't resolve anything. Then when asked to transfer to a real person, even the real person doesn't have authority to solve any issue.

During the Covid Period

During the Covid Period, I was bored and opened some online checking accounts and one of them was with Axos. Before depositing larger sums of money into online banking account, I test them out with small ones first, only a few dollars. With UFB Direct which is owned by Axos, I wanted to make sure I had a way to move my money out of the savings account, just in case I need it and the money actually belongs to me for real.
So far the experience has not been good, it is going on 2 weeks and the first week I had a negative balance of $1. I asked why using message, the rep claimed maybe I entered in wrong bank account numbers. This info was not correct, I added the bank with their site, Like other banks, thy have the option to add ACH transfers to and from, or claim to. I added one of the banks I use by the ACH option, so I did not enter any numbers. It clearly shows that account is connected, since it when signing into UFB Direct, it shows my outside account and balances of that one. Finally today my balance went to $4.00, and that was a check that I deposited for $5. So where is the other $1? Well I wanted to test out the ACH transfer, so I chose to have $1 transferred from my other bank to UFB, to make sure it works, so I should have a total of $6, but have only $4, could you imagine if that was hundreds, thousands or more. . I have many other online accounts, all of them work, but with UFB, it does not work. Make sure you be very careful not to deposit too much money at 1st, if you want to try them. I am very thankful that I did not. I did open a savings with Newtek Bank and Primis Bank at the same times and they both work great and Newtek pays more interest than UFB. Good Luck with UFB . On Google reviews one of the mangers or owners are responding to comments, but means nothing unless they fix the nonsense and problems. This buisness will not last long and you may lose your money.

Untrustworthy, glitchy, AVOID

Terrible experience. I couldn't even get through the sign up process (NOT USER ERROR.) I entered all my info on the website only for it to kick me out. It created the wrong bank account which didn't let me edit it. I wanted a high yield savings account as the 4.81% APY was tempting. It automatically created a money market and didn't let me change ANYTHING. it kicked me out and acted as if I never created an account yet my username had been taken (by me.) Just a ton of glitchy stuff. I also attempted to use the app in case the website was down. Now they have my personal info and there was no way to delete the account online or on the app. This online bank is set up for failure screwing this many people over. Customer service is non-existent. It's a trap and a joke and I'm glad I only signed up and left it instead of depositing my hard earned money. I ended up using another high yield savings avenue that doesn't give me a headache or trigger massive amounts of anger.

Presidential Bank reborn as Axos/UFB

I found out about this when they refused to let me open an account. Eventually I discovered the reason: EIGHT years ago, when I was a customer at Presidential Bank, I committed the unpardonable sin of closing my account incorrectly. At that time, Customer Service informed me that they would never open another account for me again. Now, in 2023, I discover that Presidential Bank is now Axos/UFB and that my banishment from 8 years ago is still active.

5 Stars ⭐️ Across The Board

I just wanted to take the time and write a positive review about my experience with this new account. I must say I was very hesitant to open the account based on all the bad reviews…however I’m very happy I went with my gut and opened the account. It was very easy and it took all of 10 minutes. One thing I will mention is that at opening the account showed a 0.00% interest rate. I sent a message through the app and received a prompt reply letting me know that it would update in 24hrs and sure enough it did update to the advertised 5.02% rate. So much for these horror tales about never being able to reach anyone to answer any questions…… I had my external accounts easily linked as well. I am really confused over all these negative reviews if I’m being honest…To all of you out there complaining about how it took over a week to fund your account well the bank is very clear about letting you know that the quickest and easiest way to fund your account is through a wire transfer…I had never done a wire before and so I wanted to verify with an actual real person at the bank that my funds would be available the same day…Well I called and was placed on hold for 6-7 minutes and I did talk to an actual person….they were helpful and answered all of my questions…so for those ppl claiming they were never able to get a hold of any real person to speak to, that the wait times were outrageous etc etc, this is simply not true… I wired the money before the cut off time of 12pm PST and the money was available and in my account instantly. Also I find the mobile app to be perfectly adequate. If you are looking for a no frills bank and just somewhere to park your money to earn an excellent savings rate then I’m really not sure how you can go wrong here…everything was seamless, from account opening to funding the account. I would highly recommend UFB Direct. Don’t trust these bad reviews….go ahead and open your account you’ll be glad you did.

Can't withdraw funds

I deposited some funds into the account and a few days later there is a message saying I cannot deposit OR WITHDRAW funds at this time. That's literally the only thing a bank needs to be able to do correctly.

Trying To Deal With UFB Direct Can Get You Sick

If required I can prove everything I'm about to say. I tried to open an account with starts with two small debits then two credits. I'm supposed to check my UFB account the the amounts then report it to my bank, Chase. The amounts were wrong plus there were 3 and not the required 2 deposits. UFB tried it again with two more debits to my Chase accounts. I saw all the debits and credits in my UFB account but although it was under my USB account number the bank labeled was Cit(not Citi) bank and although I have an account there too, the last 4 numbers listed on my UFB account for Cit Bank were not my numbers. I called and you can't get a human instead a computer that only knows a few questions and they were never mine. After it would say a sentence or two there would be silence. I waited a minute and screamed at it and that made it start from the beginning. This happened on every call. I emailed them and they replied they would get back within 48 hours. It's been two weeks and counting. I tried the phone again with the computer and when I screamed so loud that my neighbors literally heard me it them asked if I would like to talk to customer service. That was how I got the second deposits. I called many times, emailed twice, and sent a letter to their HQ in San Diego and said they will not hear from me but if they want money bad enough contact me. It was a major amount. It's been over two weeks and I've heard nothing. Yesterday my Chase Account was locked and I was to call the Fraud division. I told them if I were Chase I would have done the same. I also email the same to their HQ. One thing I told the UFB HQ is that if I'm to have huge amounts of money with them I'm now afraid if I ever need it I will not be able to get it or anybody. UFB accepted me 3/10/23 but I can't put all the dates below because it only allows one
