Needs to be clearer
I read through the sight and didn't see any mention of needing the father's permission. So due to wasting £70.00 for forms that now won't be signed I've been left devastated and down in the dumps..if it's in a small print it needs be made well aware that you have to have signatures. I was in a relationship with my father's daughter what is now under financial domestic emotional abuse and we are now in a safe house with no contact sonics going to be virtually impossible to get the result we need. I'm absolutely gutted that this has happened and don't know if there is another way around it. If not then I've wasted money trying. You need to make it clearer that this is the case for families in this situation as for me this is absolutely heart breaking and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this.

Under UK law, if both parents are named on a child’s birth certificate, consent from all parties with parental responsibility is required for a child’s name to be changed by Deed Poll. This is not a rule set by our organisation — it is a legal requirement that applies regardless of where a Deed Poll is obtained.
Our application process does explain that parental consent is required where applicable, but we do understand that when someone is under stress or dealing with trauma, this information can be difficult to process. We are genuinely sorry that this has added to your distress.
Importantly, this does not mean you have no options. In situations involving domestic abuse, absence, or safeguarding concerns, a name change can still be pursued through the family courts, where a judge can dispense with the other parent’s consent if it is deemed to be in the child’s best interests. Many families in similar circumstances successfully follow this route.
Your documents are not “useless” — they reflect the standard legal route, but where consent cannot be obtained safely, the court process is the correct and protective alternative.
We would strongly encourage you to seek advice from a family solicitor, domestic abuse support service, or legal aid provider, who can guide you through the safest next steps.

This company is not to be trusted at…
This company is not to be trusted at least not for international clients!! All they do is create support tickets which amount to NO ACTION. After almost a month and more than 15 support tickets they want more money. I have asked for a refund but based on their disgusting customer service behaviour i doubt there will be anything forthcoming except another support ticket. I have no trust in them 100% bs. I absolutely DO NOT recommend them for international clients STAY AWAY.

Our application process clearly states, at multiple stages, that we only dispatch documents within the UK. This is a strict policy, and international customers are required to provide a valid UK postal address (for example, a trusted friend, family member, or workplace) for delivery. This information is made clear before payment is taken.
In your case, the delays arose because a valid UK delivery solution was not confirmed. Support tickets were raised to communicate this and to request the required information so that your order could proceed. No additional fees are charged arbitrarily — any request for further payment relates only to optional services or amendments requested after an order is placed.
We absolutely reject the suggestion that “no action” was taken. Our records show multiple responses explaining the situation and outlining what was needed to move forward. Unfortunately, without compliance with the stated UK-only delivery requirement, we are unable to dispatch documents.

This is my third review and I have to keep deleting it to get an actual response to my problem since the customer service team won’t help you at all and none of what is getting explained here was explained to me via email.
I was told the second time here that it was my mistake that commas were missing within my middle names.
The company is absolutely useless!
This was there response:
“ You then contacted us again on 20/12/2025 to report formatting
(not true! the problem was the missing commas within the middle names)
concerns within the documents. At that stage, the order had already been processed, printed, and dispatched.
As clearly outlined on our website and agreed to at checkout, all documents are produced exactly as the information is entered and confirmed by the applicant. This includes spacing, punctuation, and name formatting.
To assist you, we provided a copy of the order details you confirmed at checkout, which showed that the formatting reflected the information submitted.”

Refund me the £100 or I will keep posting about how horrible and unprofessional the customer service is! I truly had enough of this!
This shouldn’t be an issue at all! Every professional company would not treat you like that and make you write all the emails (getting no response back)
to correct a mistake that was clearly not the customers fault! This website is a scam!

Still missing....
Still haven't received my order after weeks, though 2 day delivery promised. This because the automatic address system prepopulates addresses missing second half of postcode. In contact with customer service who wanted another £25 to fix their own system's error!

Feel a bit conned into buying the extras
There’s actually been very little need for me to have purchased the extra deed poll certificates as advised. Their “guidance pack” which supposedly gives you everything in one place for you to simply fill out also was not worth the money paid. The process for updating the name was quick and easy to sort the actual deed poll.
