Great service.

Ordered new light switches, as mine were discontinued. Quentin was very helpful in sorting a replacement, and when they arrived still a problem with new ones but they sorted it out quickly. Great service, and speaking with real people on the telephone.

Sent out alternative items that aren’t on website.

Ordered 4 different types of Appleby metal back boxes, 1 set was Appleby, 2 others sent out were Tower and the last set was Veritage. The latter 2 brands aren’t even sold on their website.
When I placed the order, Appleby was showing as in stock, on the day of delivery again in stock, yet when I questioned the company, they said it was out of stock, no idea when new items back in, so they sent alternatives.
The alternatives I could’ve picked up from Screwfix or B&Q etc, but it was more the point that I wasn’t told of alternatives being sent out, the website didn’t show out of stock either.
Return was arranged and collected, just waiting on refund. ( ordered elsewhere, received correct items the next day)

We’re sincerely sorry for your unsatisfactory shopping experience on this occasion. When our sales team realised that there were stock issues with the brand of your choice, they absolutely should’ve contacted you before sending an alternative. They’ve been reminded of this in order to avoid similar mistakes in the future. Also, because we don’t want our site to be misleading, we’ve removed the Appleby branding from the products in question. This will free us up to provide other brands with better stock availability.

Regarding our site display, I’d like to offer some context on how we manage our inventory. Because we list a vast volume of products, it isn’t possible to keep every item physically on our shelves at all times. Instead, we work closely with our suppliers to source and ship items within our standard delivery window.

While we strive to update our site in real-time whenever we’re alerted to a delay, the nature of this system means that a listing isn't always a 1:1 guarantee of immediate stock. We’re constantly working to make these availability windows clearer to avoid surprises like this.
