bad banks
bad banks! I do not recommend this bank to anyone for the bad services offered.
The problem finally resolved!
I have complained about blocking my account with Unicredit Banca di Roma:
Customer Satisfaction & Claims Centro
UniCredit S.p.A.
The director of the Filiale di Pescara Piazza Unione was made to unblock my account and today I had my money transferred to my English bank account.
Many thanks to Customer Service Centre for resolving the matter!
Worst experience ever…
Worst experience ever but I was told they are pretty much the only bank who opens accounts in Italy for non-residents.. Even though they give conflicting information across multiple branches.. One in Milan sent me away saying they don't do non-resident accounts and even if they opened one I couldn't transfer higher amount of sum for a property purchase due to anti-moneylaundering regulations.. Absolut nonsense.. When I arrived for a prebooked appointment they tried to send me away straight away saying they have a busy day.. I sat there for almost an hour initially after which the process stopped due to an IT glitch. This wasn't resolved for over 4 hours, apparently the whole national network experienced it. Apparently 4 hour outage in a national network is normal for them!!! Finally the account was opened but I still cannot access my data via app, I think the clerk made a typo somewhere. I provided about 50 signatures in the sign-up process but the clerk didn't take the time to verify with me my contact details on screen! Some texts & e-mails got through whilst other got lost.. Incredible, never had such a bad experience but I have to say it is true for many others incl Deutsche Bank Italy, Intesa Sanpaolo and SPER, all of which simply sent me away with nonsense explanations.

This bank robbed money in a literal way. Just because I am not a resident they decided to charge me 2.75 euro for EACH TRANSACTION!
I wanted to buy a coffee for 2 euros and then they charge 4.75 euros since I am not a resident. Ridiculous

CRIMINAL FINANCIAL ORGANISATION - DO NOT BANK WITH UNICREDIT !
I too have been scammed and threatened by this Unicredit Bank in Italy. I left italy then the global pandemic came. After numerous attempts to speak to somebody with no luck about my account and told I must go to the bank to close my account !! which was impossible on a global lockdown and I was not in the country and then when I finally managed to get the bank manager to assist me with sending my remaining funds to my Uk bank account and close my account the bank had deducted hundreds and hundreds of euros in bank fees leaving me with very little. Then a month or so later I started getting very aggressive telephone calls from a debt collection agency saying I had huge fees to pay on my Unicredit account as it was no closed. After explaining my efforts and communications with the bank manager and sending evidence of my emails with the bank manager the customer service person at the debt agency kept arguing with me and getting more aggressive and sending harassing threatening emails and phone calls and text messages demanding more money and stating that I did not close my account. I referred the bank manager to the woman and fhe woman to the bank manager and asked him to speak in italian to explain that my account is now closed. I assumed all was in order and months later I get a registered letter from the bank this time to an old address of five years ago asking for payments due to a negative balance.
This bank is corrupt and steal your money, are not available to assist with customer enquiries and make it impossible to administer your account then try threats of legal action.
AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS. Worst intentionally unavailable and unhelpful customer service with no logical resolutions or English speaking help or customer service portal for assistance.
All the people who have written reviews should gather and do a class action lawsuit against this criminal bank.
Basically a criminal enterprise
Basically a criminal enterprise. They did not follow the terms of their own contract (international money transfer). They then agreed they did not follow the terms (after months of hassle), but only refunded half the amount they stole. Now I am trying to close my account but they won't let me. No response, money is frozen so I can't access it. ETC ETC. I am going to complain to the Italian bank Ombudsman. I suggest you never work with this bank.
Do NOT Trust! Your trust will be misused. - Beware of what you sign when opening an account!!!!!!
All banks do some small trick to get more money from their customers ( through small percentages and increases) but here it is done in a very despicable and unmoral way. A TOTAL ABUSE OF THE CUSTOMER´S TRUST.
Do NOT open an account with this bank! And if you still want to risk, be aware of what you sign!!!!!
Please do not sign blindly trusting anyone´s fake professionalism. Read every single document they give you before signing!!! Otherwise you will end up like in my situation. Particularly here the staff is arrogant, highly unprofessional, disrespectful and ready for an "undercover scam" right at the time of opening the bank account.
Here is what happened:
Step 1: Like all bank practices when opening an account you have a bit of paperwork to sign. Documents for services I had not been made aware of eded up being signed by me - without me knowing it, since they were in the middle of the pile of paperwork I signed when opening the account. (The modality was: Please sir. sign here, here, here ....and here without carefully reading each and every paper). I trused the associate that I was signing paper only for what I needed: the account opening and nothing else.
Step 2: As soon as I realised I was paying for a service I did not know of nor made use of, I sent an email about it. An email that never got replied to. (that was a red flag by itself).
Step 3: They wanted a meeting in order to verbally use the contract against me and install fear, by stating that due to my disagreement they can "take legal action" since there is a signed contract. My attempt to explain that 1) I had no idea this service even existed and that noboy introduced it to me, 2) I explained the reasons why I did not need that service and therefore why I would have never requested it, 3) I asked them to prove me wrong and verify if I ever made us of it (in that case I would have gladly paid for it). Explaining that as a customer I feel played with, totally and utterly betrayed, indecently and unfairly treated and whats worse, ultimately subtly threathened was useless. They could not give a f***k! They did their "trick" and now had the upper hand!
The highly rude and unprofessional representative invited me to cancel the service for the future without giving back the money that had been trickily, maliciously and immorally stolen from me by my trusted bank. A "theft undercover" that was able to take place due to the Trust I had with my bank right from the beginning (at the signing of the first paperwork). What an aweful experience!
Ps: it is not about the money because thanks God is only 300€ (which I hope they clean their as*es with) but imagine should they routinely do this sh**t to other 10000 customers....can you do the math?
There is nothing ethical about it! What a despicable and shameful behaviour!
Let me also clarify that I didn´t want to crate any problem to start with. On the contrary I assumed they would have understood my honesty and fairly rectified the matter. I was genuinely expecting a fair resolution for something I thought to be a genuine mistake. Their reaction proved to be their unfair and unethical policies and incredibly low standards of customer service. As mentioned to them, being their customer since the day I was born, I have no reason to lie or to refuse paying a service I am happy with and make use of. Not the case here.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER !!, I went there to open an account told them I need VISA card but they gave me Maestro instead, and told me come few days later to change it to VISA. After few weeks they charged me 22 EUR. I tried to call them for appointment no body picks up but when I went their personally they were rude and angry and told me Maestro card is not cancelled. so they charged me for two cards which wasn't my fault on the first place. I told that stupid lady before opening the account I don't need Maestrot but she didn't cancelled it. Staff was rude telling me I don't have appointment and forcing me to speak Italian which I can't speak, otherwise I would have been spoken Italian with them.
I called Unicredit for more than a year…
I called Unicredit for more than a year ago, asked them to close my account. Representative did not know how exactly to do it, he promised to call but never did so. A YEAR passed and still I can not close my bank account on distance. Because of health issues plus covid I can not travel and customer support is of no help of what to do!!!! I received a notification after a year of huge amount I have in debit!!!! I wrote them again but my hope is very weak!!! What to do?????

This bank will leave you homeless living under the bridge
After being a client of the Milan branch, I have only one recommendation for Unicredit customers. Never ever leave the city where your Unicredit branch is. Or you might end up in a foreign country without a single penny for many weeks.
My phone and debit card got stolen in Paris. I called Unicredit and got assured that a new debit card will arrive by post within 7 business days. In reality, the card arrived after 23 (!!!!!) days. Makes me wonder if Unicredit is so stuck in the past that they still use horses as their transportation method.
So after 23 days spent in a foreign country without ANY money I finally receive my card. I thought that's when my suffering finally ends but that was just the beginning. Tried calling the customer service to find out the PIN of the new card. The number doesn't even work. Completely unavailable. The specialist in chat tells me to find out the PIN via mobile banking app.
Sounds easy, right? I wish. To install the mobile banking app on a new phone which I had in place of the stolen phone, YOU HAVE TO GO TO YOUR BRANCH. How am I supposed to transport myself from Paris to my branch in Milan with inactive debit card that I don't even know PIN of? Unicredit doesn't care, they're too busy using your money.
You'd suggest logging into online banking instead? That would be nice but the ONLY way to log into online banking is with mobile token which is generated by the mobile app. And to get the mobile app...well you already know.
Each time I see homeless people living under the bridge I'm quite certain they started off as Unicredit clients. Beware.
They blocked my accounts
They blocked my accounts, and access to all my funds, INTENTIONALLY, because they were missing some personal information. They never called to ask for the info! They said I should speak to my personal banker to update, and when I tried, I was told she was on holiday!
Meanwhile, I don't have access to the funds for payments! And they continue to charge me as usual! Unreal. The WORST.
A horror called UniCredit
Like everyone else here I want to give a big ZERO to this joke called bank!!!
I had to acquire a credit card with iban in order to be able to receive my scholarship. It has been a month now and I didn't get the card! Nobody knows where the card is, how long should I wait... Of course NO ONE there speaks English and no one tries to help! Completely unprofessional and ill-mannered! Especially the staff of Via Roma, Palermo.
I know they will not read this and they will not try to improve their rotten system but I want to warn anyone coming to Italy and for whatever reason needs to have a bank account here: HAVE DEATH AT THE STAKE ANY DAY AND NEVER A UNICREDIT ACCOUNT
Worse bank ever!!
Worse bank ever!!! The bankomat took my card while trying to withdraw some money from my account and they refused to help me to get the card back! I am Swedish and am in Italy for holidays - indeed I do not know what to do!
WARNING!!!!!!
***Never ever use a Unicredit bank bankomat!!!!***
Completely untrustworthy, zero customer care, none speaks English!
I would sear but it would be banned
I would sear but it would be banned, so take this unicredit, f*** you and all those mot***** imbe***** unskilled f****** workers too.
customer service = 0
security = 0
I lost my card, couldn't deactivate it with the app or the number because none works. Went to the nearby office, they said I had to take a f******* appointment and wait in the line???
Save yourself the nerves and stay away from these d****heads!!!
very bad experience and poor customer…
very bad experience and poor customer service. I open a foreigner account 2 years ago duiring my stay in italy . the customer service is very bad. they don't answer on my phones and emails.
I had a lot of issues but no clear answers and solutions (covid19 situation also exaggerate the problem).
I left italy beore 3 months without closing my account, I tried different ways to contact them before I leave but no benifit .. now they deduct 2 euros from my account each month and my balance is negative..
I want to close the account but no one is responding to my emails.
Worst
Worst, Don't fall for this hype scam!! They make sure to not reply for three years in any means of communication, They ignore customer clearly or wantedly to escape from work and block their accounts and Even in covid times they make sure to block customer accounts and make sure to give the chaos experience to the cust's eventually and even ignore this review with some pre-written sentences/auto-replies!! SCAM ALERT!! BEWARE
