Utility Point is ceasing to trade. Ofgem, the energy regulator, has appointed EDF as the new supplier for its customers. EDF will supply energy to all of Utility Point’s customers as of 18 September 2021. EDF will contact customers over the coming days and again in a few weeks when the transfer has been completed and their accounts have been fully set up. Customers need not worry, their supplies are secure. Former and current customers’ credit balances are protected. EDF may need to contact customers to determine the amount of any outstanding balance. Current and former customers who are in debit to Utility Point should wait to hear from EDF or Utility Point’s administrators who will talk to them about repayment arrangements. Ofgem’s advice to Utility Point’s customers is not to switch, but to sit tight and wait until EDF has been in touch. This will help make sure that the process of handing customers over to EDF and honouring any credit balances, is as hassle free for customers as possible. Utility Point customers can access more information at www.edfenergy.com/upfaqs or by calling 0333 009 7120. In an emergency situation please use the emergency contacts listed on the EDF website. More information can be found on the Ofgem website. Or if customers need additional support, call Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or email them via their webform. Advice will also be shared on Ofgem’s twitter @ofgem and facebook channels

Sad to see you go...
So very sad to hear news of company closure. We have been customers for over 3 years and have nothing but good service to report. Cannot understand other comments - we logged into our account ok and have been able to print off statement. Thanks Utility Point for the last few years - have never wanted to go elsewhere!
Gone Bust
Despite having gone bust on the 14th, and cancelling my DD immediately, they still took a payment on the 15th. I assume it is safe, given I am now in credit for around £80, but it is a pain in the backside. Bad timing - my fixed price contract is worthless and I'm re-entering the market at the very worst time possible. Obviously failed to hedge properly. Still, that's the risk of going with bit players. As long as I don't get taken over by Scottish Power...
The customer portal is back online - take the opportunity to grab statements etc.
Remember the owners
Remember the owners, who will have limited liability have now transferred business interests to neon reef. Don't give them your business either. They lied about why they couldn't refund people in a timely manner and then invited people to post positive reviews. These don't deserve your money.
It's gone bust
Stole my money. Absolute scum
Stole my money. Owed me money for over three months. Constantly lied to about escalations and promised refund dates. Absolute scum.

Shame Utility point couldn't continue xx
Strange but true!
Sorry to see Utility Point close but I did think it was a bit odd not being notified until 4am this morning which was 14 hours after the Supplier of Last Resort (SOLR) process started on Tuesday 14 September at 14:00.
Utility Point was generally a good company to deal with and I have had no problems accessing my account and seeing my latest bills and balance.
I sincerely hope that their staff and management are fortunate and find new positions very soon.

All these messages about not being able to log in to view there account, I have just logged in to web based and also off my smart phone. No problems.

Just signed for an additional year at an increased cost, unsurprisingly.
Being paperless have no hard copy of statements so nothing to show a new supplier.
No access to their website.
Neon Reef quote their contact number as 0800111999, it is not their number to use.
The directors and senior staff of this company should be held to account for this.
Sorry to see you closing
Sorry to see you closing, good luck to all involved, great supplier and staff. Don`t seem to be able to access account to get details of account etc.
I so sad
I so sad. But I have many questions about my utility account I can't log in to my accout and I still waiting for refund i can't call to find out information for my questions
NO CUSTOMER LOGIN
"Customers will still be able to access the online portal via our website to view bills, provide meter reads and see usage."
No......No they cannot.
Convenient much?
Great company😥
So sorry this has happened. Great service and prices.😥
A real shame
A real shame, thanks for great service, and Ben Bolt thanks for the honest informative email. WOW, the market is totally screwed! Don't seem to be able to log into the portal to provide a meter reading to provide input for this month.
Poor
So… had notice last week that they were increasing my DD by £50 pcm, yep £50!!!!!!
Emailed to request information and why… nothing…
Yesterday get the email to say they are ceasing trading…
Today… can’t get through on the phone, can’t log into portal….
What an appalling company!!!!! Good flaming riddance!
Good service yet very poor form
I have found Utility Point to be very reasonable over the past few years. Their customer service team were responsive and helpful and the online chat a very useful tool for queries.
However, just two days ago they increased my Direct Debit payments by just shy of £20pcm and the day after the news came through. This is obviously a cynical move and I wonder how many other customers have experienced the same.
Don't cry for the demise of Utility…
Don't cry for the demise of Utility Point, the directors new it was coming that's why they set up Neon Reef! Same address, same people. Ofgen ought to investigate! Why can't we log into our accounts? What are you hiding Utility Point?
APPALLED!
I'm absolutely appalled. You allowed me to renew my contract with you just 3 days ago with no warning or message that you were struggling. You didn't wake up this morning and think "ah screw it, let's jack in" so you must have known. You shouldn't have taken on new customers or contract renewals if you were on the brink of going bust.
Now you're sitting in credit in mine and thousands of others accounts and leaving people in limbo with their energy supply.
No access to online portal
I quote:’ Customers will still be able to access the online portal via our website to view bills, provide meter reads and see usage.’ Um no! Can’t get access to my account details as I get a message saying error. Without the information on the portal I don’t know my present (credit) balance, my usage or my account number. How will I know if the new supplier is offering a good deal or not? I can’t even use a comparison site without letting them know my usage. I have immediately cancelled my direct debit and am keeping my fingers firmly crossed.
I KNEW THEY WERE ABOUT TO GO BUST ALL…
I KNEW THEY WERE ABOUT TO GO BUST ALL THE SIGNS HAVE BEEN HERE FOR MONTHS. SORRY FOR ANYONE THAT THEY OWE MONEY TO.
