I’m could be wrong but I’m sure this company has made all different types of security cameras products for outdoors & indoors.
I actually had my camera for a year! The camera I have is oval shaped and has small white light at the top. For a week it stayed charged then went blank, but keep in mind I had to go back and read the instructions I needed a solar panel light to keep the camera charged and now it stays charged I have a SD CARD AS WELL ! I don’t get ads at all. I don’t have any of their subscription either. I can rewind and fast forward and play in between with my SD CARD ONLY! No ads at all!!! I wish I could truly place my pics to show you all honestly! My camera works and always on time with notifications not like others after the fact! I would be glad to show how mines work but fortunately this review doesn’t ask for pictures. And no I’m not giving the company a five star because of the reviews. I love my security camera!

Absolute Scam—unavoidable ads, "paywalled" features that used to be free. I have several yi/kami cameras bought through the years. It was a cheap alternative to other brands, yet you would always needed a subscription to unlock full features. However recently they have completely ruined the app, with advertisement everywhere, and the fake AI alerts and detection will flood with false notifications. The Camera live is often choppy, not reliable (I have 2Gb internet), hence you need to add sd cards to each camera so to ensure stability. Yet now that the subscription is over, it's literally impossible to use the free app. - "Impossible" is not even enough - there are thousands of endless advertisements, and very limited live view time - If you need to check camera quick - forget it. The customer service - no adjectives left for it. One of the worst nightmares you will face. Even if you have a subscription, you will jump in endless standardise conversations (will last days between replies) and will never solve the issue. Good luck if you decide to stick with them, but I am abandoning them for something else.

After having 3 cameras for years I am disappointed with restricted viewing time and adverts are a pain. I will not be getting any more do yourself a favour and don't bother with these cameras software is rubbish money grabbers

The app has become insufferable, constant advertising, banners, limitations on viewing motion detections, time limitations on watching the live broadcast, etc. Eight cameras have ended up in the trash.

Now YI forcing you to buy subscription cloud which is so bad. I have total of 13 YI cameras after they are forcing me to buy cloud.....I will not buy another YI camera. They are taking themself out of the market. I will buy IEGEEK camera instead.

Horrible company, refuses to turn off auto renewal, won't cancel subscription. Told them I do not have the camera anymore and dont need subscription months before my renewal and they ignored and still charged me. They won't even give you a phone number to call them.

These cameras used to be good, but are now useless due to constant ads.
DO NOT BUY.

STAY AWAY OF THIS CAMERAS!
This service is a complete harrasment to force you to watch advertising.
If you need to check cameras urgently, it is impossible because you can not bypass the advertisement. You have to close and reopen the app several times to be able to see whats happening at home.
And they will contact you to let you know that if you don't want ads, you have to pay for it.

I have other camera brands that also run ads, but those are really easy to manage, just a couple of seconds and you gain control, but not with this brand.

Instead of improving service, they got worse trying to monetize evrything.

STAY AWAY!

This is the worst company I've ever delt with in 75 years. They are a bait and switch outfit that holds cameras hostage unless you buy expensive services. Initially the app was usable. Over time, the free app has become nothing but adds. You cannot use the cameras. Mine went to trash for a cheaper, better alternative. Crooks

This app is a scam, forced loud ads, camera moves by itself, notifications that take you to chinese websites, this should be investigated by the authorities, high potential of chinese spying/monitoring us through this cheap unreliable cameras. Do not buy, you will only get annoyed/frustrated that you wasted your momey in a scamming company

Absolutely rubbish now killed a good company ,Should be sued for blocking free videos/clips .Forcing subscription and almost unable to stop .?🛑

Don’t go near this company. You can not view unless you subscribe.Your plagued with constant adds with delays viewing video footage. They change options and your unable continue with the package you started with. The cameras are tied to the app so your not able to view independently.

AVOID AVOID AVOID SCAM
I have quite a lot of these bought over the years, I chose them as you didn’t need a subscription and could use SD cards. Now absolutely useless due to the forced ads trying to get you to take an expensive subscription. It’s impossible to do anything without endless ads blocking the screen and forced clicking of links taking you to a subscription page. Absolute scam now.

I can not express enough how much I hate their camera app.

Adverts forced on you before you can see your alerts, this is so dangerous, as the adverts take forever (if ever) to close. The close button on the ad is a lie and forces you to go to google play store to the advertised app they are selling.

Purlie, childish ads, annoying to the point you do not want to use them.

Replacing every camera and recommend no one buys their cameras or uses their app

I would give less if possible. These cameras used to be good but due to all the aggressive paywall activity, the cameras are essentially useless without a subscription.
DO NOT BUY. Service is overpriced and underwhelming. Spend your money on a better product and service.

Great camera hardware, awful app experience
I’ve owned my YI outdoor camera for several years and the hardware is reliable with good video quality.
The app, however, is ruined by constant advertising and upselling of cloud storage and premium packages. These pop-ups appear before I can access basic functions like live footage or motion notifications.
I paid for the hardware and expect the core features to work immediately, without being blocked by ads. There should be a permanent opt-out for subscriptions.
Until YI fixes this, I cannot recommend the app experience.

Before YI bought Kami, the camera was functional without ads. Ever since the buyout, which was 3 or 4 years ago, the app is trash. Live view limited time, ads spamming you when you open the app, and while viewing the feed. Do yourself a favor and skip this cheap chinese camera.

Never buy cameras with this software YIiot !!!!! NEVER !! Camera-pictures not be able to see. Only and only reclame !!! I cannot understand that a brand as Pegatah use this complete ridicule software YIiot.
They can better stop with producing this sort of cameras with this software !!!!!

Worst apps with too intrusive adds. Do not recommend at all. I had been a user of YI camera for many years but their app is so ridiculous now.
