I feel bad for everyone like me who thought this was a better option than a gift card. What a nightmare. I listened to advice in previous reviews, tried Amazon top-up, gift card, and other retailers but nothing has worked. Possibly they have made it even harder to use since those reviews. Their rude customer service defacto said "You cannot use this for buying a gift card". However there is no explanation for why this doesn't work on Argos for example? Please do not get this as your reward.

Absolutely horrendous experience, got an £80 reward card as an incentive for joining SKY. I can't use the card, when I send a message they say the card is blocked for security despite sending a verification code and asking a simple question when trying to make a payment. Each time I am told to wait 24hours for the block to be removed, I've given up after 4 rounds of this.

Terrible company! AVOID!
Chose a prepaid MasterCard from Sky and couldn't use it anywhere. Went on live chat with the company 3 times and they kept saying it was blocked due to the incorrect CVV code entered (it wasn't)
After trying it numerous times with different merchants I managed to use it on Temu, after they had tried to block the payment 3 times!

AWFUL EXPERIENCE

Customer service awful, this card does not work with most places. They block the company and say it wont be resolved for 24 hours, so you wait for that and then it does not work again. 3 days in an its still not resolved.

Also like other reivews they say you have entered the CVV wrong, which is completely not correct.

The most infuriating process ever.

Received 120£ voucher from Sky which I exchanged for a pre-paid Mastercard.
It is NOT accepted ANYWHERE.
There is no way to get in contact with them apart from the AI chat bot which is useless.
I spent 3 days!! trying to find how this can be used reading forums etc.

For anyone struggling:
I ended up getting 116£ cash through Paypal. I sent a money request from one of my Paypal accounts to the other one. It allowed me to use this card to pay for that money request and so after fees I ended up with 116£ cash.
(Only worked on my laptop, not on my phone)

Tried to use this card 5 times now,absolutely useless.and good luck trying to contact someone to sort it out.its going in to the bin.

Awful. DO NOT USE. Card failed multiple times even though details were correct. I was told to try a different merchant, but most of them failed! In the end, amazon some bow worked, and i bought an e gift card off for a shop.

Garbage of a company, the prepaid card doesn't work on so many retailers. Contacted customer care and they saying CVV was not entered correctly at the time of check out, which is not true. Other's have complained of the same issue.
Avoid them at all costs

Very poor service. I went with the virtual card option and by following all the instructions I used it for an order on Amazon. Card didn’t work. I contacted customer services and I was suggested to wait 24 hours. After that I was not able to log in at all using the digital token. Calling them doesn’t work so I had to email and wait a few days. After 3 days I was suggested to email them back with my details for verification. Still waiting to use my virtual card. Appalling service. I would suggest to avoid.

I got this when I purchased Sky wifi.

Thank you to everyone who wrote a review. I tried to use this on amazon and it didn't work, the first time I contacted customer service they told me the merchant had blocked the card. I tried a second time and amazon said my 'bank had declined' the payment, I contacted customer service again and they told me I put the CVV in wrong- which I did not.

Thankfully, I read the reviews and went on amazon and purchased a gift card for the same value as the pre-paid card (£100) and it worked instantly. Save yourself some time and just do this instead of messing around with the online customer service app which takes ages and doesn't resolve anything.

Virtual card offer through Money Super Market did not work! Should have read the reviews first..

Hi, I don't usually write reviews but I used others' reviews many times so I think it's time to pay back ;)

It's worked for me so far. Made two payments £40 + £30. I registered on the site and as soon as I received digital card I entered its details in my paypal wallet. I then made a purchase in Screwfix and payed by paypal with this card. It requested OTP verification wich I received as an sms. It apeared as ACS on my phone (6 digits number). I entered the code and it was accepted.

The second payment was for builders merchants where I entered the details of the card directly. I put my own name instead 'Virtual Card'. Again I was asked for OTP which came as an sms instantly and the payment was accepted again.

So quite happy now. Hope it helps someone :)

It does ask for your details and they seem to trade some of your data in exchange and seems shady but ACTUALLY DID work since i did my research into if it was legit even if the trustpilot reviews were sus to begin with.
- I got the online voucher as they don't deduct a fiver for sending you a plastic card (and having had the plastic ones from some other reward scheme before they don't tend to accept them in physical shops).
What confused me most was the email saying talktalk as the heading but then opening it to the Sky template then going through this that and the other site to get to what you want.

Basically, you want to use the card details you get ASAP to buy to an amazon gift card because then its a lil more reliable with the t&c's and doesn't expire as fast. Amazon has pretty reliably accepted from this source every time i have had a weird fake mastercard thingy. and they are getting pretty good with other gift cards you can get if you don't want to spend it all on amazon. personally i would just transfer the entire balance in one to top up your amazon account. it worked for me

Its a shame people come to read reviews when it's too late. It's an awful, awful setup they've got. Poor customer service, uninterested, and it's NOT a prepaid credit card, it's just a digital wallet card that few select retailers accept. Don't get involved with this crap!

Got my £105 gift card from Sky. It got declined at two different online sites. I asked customer support what the issue was and they were very defensive asking me to ask the retailer not them. When then when I asked another question they shut down the chat!!
I have just used it to buy a One4All gift card online and it worked. Tip - don't use it in your Google wallet, just write the card details in and get away from this company!

I have been trying to use my card since 2023

As others have mentioned, it is a struggle to find a place where this card is accepted. Either the card could not be verified or the card would be recognised but some sort of processing error would occur. An interesting error I got when trying to deposit money into my revolut account was "You don't have all permissions enabled on this card to perform this transaction. Please contact your bank to resolve this issue before retrying with the same card." It seems like there is some sort of block on this card unfortunately.

I got a £50 gift card via sky and because it goes into the spam inbox it accidentally got deleted. I reached out to customer service via email and telephone call. Firstly via call the lady found my account and resent my email with my gift card that evening customer service also replied via my email doing the same so brilliant service from them!

However when it came to use the gift card I had difficulty when making a purchase online it asked me to type in a code - fine then it asked me another authentication which was a list of shops asking where I had last shopped online and the list didn't include any shops I would use so I guessed one and it was wrong. I tried again and same thing happened.

I then reached out to customer service via webchat and they said the card is blocked as I put the cvv in wrong which I didn't. They unblocked the card and my payment then went through.

Overall I am happy I managed to use my voucher but it did take some effort and a bit complicated...

Took me forever to get any value from my digital gift card. The solution from someone below worked for me - buy a one4all giftcard from the one4all website. Note if the expiry is 31st Oct, the month will be Oct (not Nov). Good luck!
