I purchased a Lifetime VPS with 8 vCores from ZAP Hosting. After a few weeks, my server started getting blocked repeatedly. When I asked support why, they told me there's a 550% CPU limit on shared vServers - which means I can only use 5.5 cores effectively, not the 8 I paid for.
The problem? This 550% limit is not documented anywhere on their website or terms and conditions. When I confronted them about this, they literally admitted: "the specific value of 550% does not appear indicated in the store."
They're straight up liars. They sell you 8 vCores, charge you for 8 vCores, but secretly cap you at 5.5. And it's not even a throttle or rate limit - they completely block your VPS and crash the entire server when you hit the limit. Your service goes down. You lose everything.
That's not a "fair use policy" - that's a straight up scam. Undisclosed terms and misleading advertising.
I've been going in circles with support for days trying to get a solution. They won't upgrade me, won't refund me, won't even explain why this wasn't disclosed before I paid. They just keep repeating the same garbage technical explanation like robots.
Don't waste your money on ZAP Hosting. They're scammers. They sell you one thing and give you another. Pay for 8 cores, get 5.5. And when you complain they block your entire server and leave it down.
This company is a fraud.

We want to share an important update: we have removed the previous automatic CPU protection limit for unusually high CPU usage. This means your server can now make much more flexible use of CPU load peaks without being automatically suspended when exceeding the previous protection threshold, which is especially useful for temporary spikes caused by many players joining at once, larger processes, mods, bots or builds.
The previous mechanism was in place to help keep the platform stable and protect other customers from permanently disproportionate resource usage, and thanks to ongoing hardware upgrades and improved monitoring we are now able to handle these situations in a more targeted and flexible way, with no action required from your side.

Used them in the past and came back to their service after requiring a game server again, and they've improved a lot of things in their interface that others complained about before.
The customer service also came back to me really quickly after having some questions about my server.

Best hoster by far, best support 10/10
Been a customer for years, currently also own two Lifetime VPS Servers, can only recommend hosting here. The support is very helpful with any questions, even if its a software question, not just technical issues with the server - best hoster I have ever used 10/10 will keep using and buying a server again!
