Customer Service is a joke

Today I started the switch to another provider owing to the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Twice now I have complained about the broadband dropping out and twice I've been assured that an 'engineer' would contact me but all I've had is two emails saying the problem is fixed. It is not fixed! It went down again last night and so I telephoned again this morning only to be told that they don't know if or when the switch to cuckoo will be complete or what is happening to my line. I tried to escalate the issue by making an official complaint only to be told that the person I was talking to would be handling that too, so support case CS0221202 was opened and closed within minutes! This is a complete joke and so I am adding my voice to the hundreds of complaints and 1 star ratings flooding trustpilot and as they don't seem to care about losing customers I doubt they'll respond to this review either. What really is a shame is that the line has been rock solid since installation 14 months ago but if they can't tell me what's going on or when it'll be resolved then they give me no choice but to leave.

First (and last) time using…

First (and last) time using cityplumbing, ordered on thursday, rang them friday and they said the wrong part had been sent, rang them saturday, not arrived but would be there monday, rang them monday, nope, rang tuesday - still not there so I cancelled the order. Zero communication other than an email of my order, had to chase all the time, nobody seemed bothered so this must be the norm. Not impressed.

Shocking service

Customer of nearly 3 years, used to be able to get through to tech support instantly but been trying for several days now - 17th in queue this morning, keep trying the ringback service, nobody ever gets back to me so time to switch to another provider.

Still trying to get through to tech support/anybody, major connectivity problems, no 43 in the queue today! Account/Contact ID: 506884 should you actually wish to retain our custom, however today I've started the switch to another provider so I have little faith that Zen will contact us.

Bad service

I ordered by telephone at 9am Wednesday to ensure that the expensive mobile I needed urgently was both in stock and would be delivered the next day. At 4.30pm the next day, having waited in all day, nothing had arrived, no messages, so I phoned AO and they said they'll investigate and get back to me. When they rang I was told that the only mobile in stock was 'damaged or something' and it had been flagged for someone to contact me (which never happened) and I could either wait for new stock or get a refund. Since nobody had bothered letting me know and I needed it urgently (for my wife who had had her's stolen the day before) I asked for a refund (which of course takes several days! Instant payment of £1250 but couldn't possibly be refunded quickly!) and I have ordered elsewhere. I've used AO before without problems but as I've always said, the measure of a company is what they do when things go wrong and in this instance they failed miserably and I won't be using them again.

I am truly sorry to learn about the issues you experienced with your recent mobile phone order, I assure you this is not our usual standard of service and I can only apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Unfortunately there was a discrepancy with the stock of the model you ordered, and we were unable to deliver that model on your chosen delivery date. Our outbound team were scheduled to contact you about this so I am sorry you were not notified sooner and had to wait in for this. We have since cancelled the order and issued a full refund back to you but we do have to advise of standard banking process which is 3-5 working days. The refund can sometimes be quicker than this depending on your bank provider.

Finally, let me assure you that this is not the experience that the vast majority of our customers have with us, and I do hope that you give us another opportunity in the future to demonstrate the high level of service that we are known for.

Always quick delivery and good prices, lost one star owing to the gravel I wanted only being available in bags and not loose this time so it was more expensive but I couldn't wait for it to come back into stock.

False/Misleading Advertising

I ordered a guitar book with CD from The Monster Bookshop via Abebooks which arrived without the CD. I asked The Monster Bookshop if they had the CD or not and they just replied to send the book back. I contacted Abebooks saying that I was happy to keep the book as it wasn't much cheaper elsewhere but if the CD wasn't available then they should change the website listing as it was false advertising and a misrepresentation. 3 weeks later I enquired again if the CD was available as the listing was still on the website and if not then they really need to remove the item from sale on their website. Their reply was simply 'I'm sorry this item is being returned' etc etc. Obviously nobody has even bothered to read my emails so I have given up on them and will be contacting Trading Standards.

Wish I'd listened to the reviews!

Decided to give vodafone broadband a try despite the poor reviews - wish I hadn't now! I have screenshots telling me the speed I can get, guarantee etc complained the speed was still slow after 2 weeks via online chat - told some rubbish from 'Wasif' about 'fibre lines being changed' and guaranteed increase in 48 hours - utter rubbish and all screenshot. Phoned 5 days later, told I actually had the maximum speed my line could manage (sky was much better right up until vodafone took over) and their 'guaranteed' speed was actually much lower than their 'ultimate guarantee' which gives me 15% off the price - all well and good except that this price is still higher than their latest offer! Still within 30 days of contract so will be moving back to sky or trying someone else. do yourselves a favour and don't believe their false advertising!

Been with sky for years and the last 18…

Been with sky for years and the last 18 months my broadband has been ok at 55mbs (paying for 75mbs!) but the past 2 months my broadband speed has been capped at 40mbs (as have thousands of others - see sky forums). Tests, reboots etc and then they said they only guaranteed 40mbs as a minimum so that's that! Checked other providers and openreach speed checks and have been guaranteed a minimum of 55mbs so I've cancelled sky and moving to another provider. Can't be any worse I hope!

Tried it for the first time…

Tried it for the first time as coinbase has temporarily stopped withdrawals. Very easy to set up, KYC instant, took less than 2 hours to transfer BTC from coinbase to BC Bitcoin, convert to GBP and deposit in my bank account. Excellent service, the only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's quite pricy at 5.76% commission but worth it for the speed and ease. Will recommend to my friends.

Had four in a row cash back claims refused despite the proof of purchase. Simply cannot trust quidco to pay cashback any more so deactivated account to save money!

- The purchase was returned, cancelled or the order amended.
- The purchase was not completed wholly online.
- Another referrer has been awarded the cashback commission (e.g. a price comparison site or a voucher site).
- You didn’t comply with the terms and conditions of the retailer.
- A voucher code or gift code not authorised by us was used.
- The merchant has ceased trading or has gone into administration.

We will always do our best to get the cashback to you, it's why we're here and, if you don't get paid, then neither do we so we do share your disappointment when this happens. Unfortunately though, we can't ever guarantee cashback as we are reliant on the retailers providing the money to us so we can pass this along to you and if they don't agree that you've met the necessary terms to be eligible, then it can be declined.

Good Value

Always wary of the cheapest deal but everything was exactly as I hoped. Car was fine, staff extremely pleasant, the only thing that could have been better was being able to get into the car park when returning the car without having to find someone inside the airport terminal to come and open the barrier.
