I have been loyal to this company

I have been loyal to this company for many years. They have repaid me by increasing my monthly payment from £128 to over £400. In the time I have been with them I can only remember claiming twice.
I will never use them again and would advice others to think twice

Mediocre service

Once I got to talk to someone the service was excellent. However, getting to that point was awful. The website was poor and when I managed to get on the chat line, I was told my query had to be handled by phone. I spent ten minutes clicking different digits and was told many times it was much quicker online. The whole process took 35 minutes.[

Fixing my Corsa Electric

I have a problem with my Corsa electric. Spanner warning light continuously on. This means there may or may not be a problem. I rang Service. No advice was given as to whether it is safe to drive and the first date available to have it looked at is 17th April at Weston Super Mare. This is nearly a four weeks wait and means I will have to hire a car. This length of wait is totally unacceptable.

Appalling company, don't use them

This a letter I sent to Goldcar headquarters in July 2022. I have had no reply or acknowledgement. I also sent a letter to Goldcar UK headquarters, it was returned as there was no such address.

Dear Mr Martinez
My father-in-law organised an extended family holiday in France. I hired a car from your company through a third party; Carjet. I was to pick up the car at 18 00 hours from Marseille Airport on 2nd July. However, the plane from Glasgow was delayed and your office was closed when we arrived in Marseille. We were forced to book a hotel overnight for my husband, myself and our three young children.
The following morning we arrived at your office early to be told that the time limit for the car to be held had elapsed. Not only was the car not available and they were unable to offer us an alternative. No refund was offered.
In the end we made other arrangements to get to our holiday destination and returned to Marseille on 6th July to pick up a different car from your office.
The original price was £857.85, we ended up paying £1589.10.
I understand that your representative at the airport said we had no rights to any compensation as we went through a third party, but I feel this is very unfair as it is clear, you were able to hire out the original car on the 3rd July, thus in effect being paid twice for it. The third party, CarJet, has also refused to take any responsibility.
I would like to appeal for your help in this matter and ask you to return the extra amount we were forced to pay; £731.30. I think it would be the right thing to do.

Dear Lydia. Thank you for your reply. Indeed we did pay twice. I set out the whole story in a letter to your CEO six months ago. (I expect I will get a reply one day or even an acknowledgement) We still had to hire a car which we did on the 7th July. We hired it through you again in the hope it would prompt you to pay back the extra money we were forced to pay. Big Mistake. The letter I referred to is below.

Terrible Company

Terrible Company
Through no fault of our own, we lost £700 by hiring through Carjet. We asked for help in retrieving this money and three months later they said no despite having been paid twice for a car we never got. They should not be in business.

Hello Richard,

First of all I would like to point out that you only paid once for the booking.

Please note that if you could not use the booking due to a flight delay, you should take it up with your airline.

The car hire company keeps the car for a certain amount of time (grace period) which is stated on your booking details.
