I have received a letter from a solicitor saying I owe A1 Comms Ltd £413. I have never been asked for anything previously & am totally up to date with the payments to HG3. I’m not computer literate so can’t go on their website. Their phone number doesn’t connect to a person just advises to go online. Crap

£600 PLUS PAID FOR INSURANCE AND STILL ASK TO PAY EXCESS
I have paid for insurance for over 4 years (over £600) and when I made a claim recently they still asked for £50 excess fee AND expect me to pay for postage.
I looked up phone repairs locally and it would cost me £80 to have mine fixed. It is robbery that they ask for more money after 4 years of taking my money and refused to provide any kind of refund. I literally would have saved money had I not taken this insurance.

Theives
I took a phone contact with Affordable mobile and now A1 Comms says that I owe money to them because the phone was supply by A1comms but it does not state that anywhere in the contact and even if it was supplied by A1 Comms is not my problem who supplies the phones for affordable mobiles, bunch of theives!
A1 Comms have now instructed a solicitor to make a claim but they won't get any money.

Dreadful company to deal with
Further to my previous review. Still no joy from this company. They responded to previous review on here that they would be contacting me to resolve the issue. Still waiting. Cannot telephone them you have to deal with chat messages which takes them half an hour to respond to at least. They signed for the return of the phone 3 weeks ago but no refund and chat line operative not bothered about assisting. Out of her hands apparently.

A company that cheats people.
I've been waiting for my money back for two months. I paid upfront for a Samsung phone and returned it back, but I haven't seen the money.

Stressful experience
I ordered a Samsung phone on contract, taken payment for the phone, only communication initial email with contract details, 5 days on no comms at all and no phone, attached to the email is a help link, tried on different devices and goes to error, no such page. All I want to do is now cancel the order, but cannot contact them. I'm going to have to contact my bank and trading standards to see if anything can be done.
Hopefully not been scammed, very stressful thinking you may have.
They got in touch via trustpilot, cancelled my order and I received my refund today.
Need better/easier way to communicate.

My partner has had a nightmare trying to deal with an issue with this company. Finally, today, he actually managed to get to speak with someone who promised to email with return details to terminate his contract as his contract turned out to be allocated to a completely different phone number. No email, no information on where to return the phone to, will be soon out of time to cancel this contract.

I have had enough already.
I have made an order on through Samsung.
I was told that my address did not match the card details and that I had to change it.
I have done that and since then there has been 0 communication from them.
I have called their number which rings and rings for over 2 hours and no one picks up.
I have also gone to the website that they have given and all I get is 404 without any website information.
I now do not want the phone or anything to do with this company. I am only calling now to cancel and receive my refund.
The next step will be to report them to the trading standards. You CANNOT take a customers money and not have anyway to communicate with them.
And I am sure someone will come on here to say that they have sent me an email to “look into it” I don’t want nor do I need that.
What I need is my money back and for us to part ways.

Contract purchase from Samsung
I purchased a new contract from Samsung who use A1 comms. I ordered on Wednesday been waiting since for an update. Its been stuck on processing at the warehouse stage since Wednesday. If you contact them they don't have any information. Normally when buying a contract from any other company by the 3rd day the phone arrives. Its 4 days and there's still no sign of my phone. Useless customer service and rubbish and slow service.

Simply awful
Received a pixel 6 just over 12 months ago. Looked after perfectly and it abruptly stopped working. After returning to A1/ Affordable mobiles it took over a month to receive a response advising phone was beyond repair. Offered a 3 month old pixel 7a as a replacement which I assumed would be in a similar condition to the phone returned. Instead when it arrived today it had a significant scratch on the screen which is unsightly and would drastically reduce resale value. I informed A1 immediately and was told it was damaged in transit (not sure how when the packaging is immaculate) and I now need to submit a fraud report as I didn't sign for the package and wait for them to investigate. All this and I'm continuing to pay for a pay monthly phone I'm unable to use. You can't talk to anyone at A1/ Affordable Mobiles on the phone as they only offer live chat- which takes an age to connect- or email. Please don't make the mistake I have and avoid at all costs. They also seem to be sneaky in what name's they go by and the 'Affordable Mobiles' arm seems to have a high trust pilot rating- hopefully people realise it is the same poor service regardless of the name!
Update- after being told on Monday I will have an update by Tuesday (as per the company's reply) they stopped responding to my emails and it took using the terrible live chat on Friday to be informed they will replace. This involves me sending the handset back, waiting 7 days to confirm the phone is damaged and wait for a replacement. By the time I get a phone it will be around 2 months without. And this is after they read my review and called to say they would do everything they could to make amends. Affordable mobiles is truly the worst experience I have had as a customer.
Further update 22/12/2023:
It has now been over 2 months since I returned the original handset and I still have no phone. I was told after returning the damaged handset they tried to fob me off with it would take 7 days to resolve and it has been nearly 2 weeks. They do not respond to my emails and the live chat service response is they have no update and no timeframe to resolve this. PLEASE for your own sanity avoid using this company, if you purchase a phone through them you will have no guarantee and rely on them to resolve which they will take an age to do. And you will be left paying for a phone you don't have use of. Learn from my mistakes and avoid.

As a mum of 3 I never buy myself…
As a mum of 3 I never buy myself anything new. However after putting up with my tired old iPhone 11 for ages while my kids and partner upgraded and bought new tech constantly I started feeling a little left out. I decided to see if I could get a good deal on a new iPhone 12 to keep costs down but still get a new phone and found one on affordable mobiles / A1 comms with 3. I completed my order on the 3rd of November 23 and was expected to receive my new phone by the 25th, fair enough I thought, it is an older iPhone so I expected a little wait. After a few days not receiving any emails but seeing on tracking that everything had gone through ok I decided to speak to someone about my missing emails. I spoke to someone and weirdly emails weren’t being received by myself so we changed my email to my work address and sure enough I started receiving emails about my order. During this chat I was offered to swap colour to black so I would receive the phone faster as they had the black in stock. I decided I’d rather wait it out as my partner has a black iPhone so it would likely get confusing! A week or so passed by and I saw that they had the white in stock. I thought I’d contact them to see if I could swap to the white and get it quicker. I spoke to Jess twice on chat who swore that they had no colours in stock but I could still see that they did in fact have the black and the white in stock. I tried a 3rd time hoping to speak to someone other than Jess and was put through to Heather who confirmed that they did have the white! She changed my order and i immediately received confirmation that it would be delivered the next day. So it gets to today and my phone was delivered at 5:50pm (10 minutes before chat closes) and guess what?! The phone doesn’t even work, won’t turn on at all. I got onto apple support and they said it sounds like a hardware issue and I either need to send it in to be repaired (baring in mind it’s brand new so I don’t think that’s fair!) or get in touch with the company I purchased from to get a return and replacement. I contacted them via email as I saw they don’t close their emails till 8:30pm but I’ve had no response. I’ve already sold my iPhone 11 to someone on marketplace so I am now without a phone! Not very impressed!
Edit 15/11/23 finally got through to them on chat, I had to send the phone back at my own expense and it’s going to take 4-5 working days after they receive it back to determine it won’t turn on? How it takes that long to determine that it’s basically an expensive paperweight I’ll never know! Useless!

This company sells contracts then when they send their confirmation email, they slightly change the order number and give you a lesser phone or less data. then you cannot track the original deal offered. they've been doing this for years and I have video proof this is their game.

Re: Order number 43556918
In addition to the following A1 Comms have sent the phone again to arrive on a weekday. They said they'd honour the Saturday postage I paid to DPD. But obviously haven't. I can't see this ending well!
Sent the following email to customer care 5 days ago. Repeatedly tried to contact the parcel company and A1 Comms to no avail.
Customer care is incredibly awful. Don't buy here unless you want a hard time. Shocking service.
Hi,
I ordered a phone from you on 8/8/23. DPD attempted to deliver it on 9/8/23. As I work all week I am not at home to receive a parcel. Also the address is unsafe for doorstep delivery. I then paid DPD £4.99 to deliver on the Saturday 15/8/23. I took the day off of work to stay in to receive parcel. I lost £180 in wages that day! The parcel was cancelled until the next day. So I wait in AGAIN for a delivery postponing social events and visits to family. At 3pm Sun 16/8/23 the delivery was cancelled again. I've tried to contact you and DPD relentlessly to no avail! Yesterday they made another attempt to deliver. Again, I'M AT WORK WEEKDAYS! I paid for a Saturday delivery. DPD failed on this. Now they're returning the phone to you! What the hell is going on please?
Resend for Saturday delivery or collection from approved collection point please? Failing this, please take phone back and cancel the contract?
I need refunding £4.99 please for additional postage that was not honoured.

AVOID A1CommsLtd
AVOID A1CommsLtd - mobile sent to be delivered by courier driver Tomasz (on behalf of DPD) still hasn't delivered my mobile phone. He put it on our doorstep on Sat 23rd September, took a picture & sent to me, but never knocked on door for us to sign & receive. Even though we were in. Maybe he forged signature to steal my phone I'm paying for? Tomasz delivers on behalf DPD from their Crawley depot in W Sussex to all over Sussex and east Surrey, I believe he may have stolen my phone and probably others - BEWARE!

Avoid at all costs
So, instead of trying to resolve my issue, they managed to get my original review removed.
So here is a nice, clear summary of my issue with affordablemobiles, phones.co.uk (their sister company) and a1comms (their owner)
We processed an O2 upgrade through affordablemobiles.com
We then got an email from them, asking for us to call them.
The number they gave comes up as "suspected spam"
The managed to talk to someone at a1comms, the number that affordable mobiles gave, to go through the whole process again.
We then get an email from phones.co.uk, with a new order number.
So, they cancelled the one from affordablemobiles and processed a new one from phones.co.uk
When we came to swap to the new phone and sim, we were not able to.
We then had to get in touch with o2, who had no record of the SSN number on the back of the sim.
With further digging, it turns out that we were sent an O2 branded sim with a Giffgaff phone number attached to it.
We did not sign up to change providers.
We did not sign up to giff gaff.
Nothing that we agreed and processed was for a giffgaff contract.
Trying to get any help from affordablemobiles, phones.co.uk and a1comms has been the most painful and fruitless task we have ever endured.
We sent the phone back and was told, over the phone, that the postage would be refunded. When I sent proof of postage (as requested) we then get an email saying that they do not refund postage for returns.
So, we have done nothing wrong and cancelled because of the mistakes made by affordablemobiles, phones.co.uk and a1comms. So why should we have to pay? None of you have provided any reliable or decent service. You didn't send the right sim. All the agreements were for o2 but you sent a Giffgaff sim. And we're paying for the pleasure of those mistakes?
A1comms and their businesses, affordablemobiles and phones.co.uk have all had a part in this awful service that we have received.
I'm sure I'll see a reply asking for more details so you can look into it, but you did that before and did absolutely nothing.
I have made sure that I have said nothing that may upset the trustpilot "content integrity team"

Shocked they've got 1.4 stars
Shocked they've got 1.4 stars, bought a refurbished Samsung S20fe, did complian but only offered to send it to Samsung for 28 days leaving me without a phone. Battery needs charging 3 times a day, had to buy power pack and blue stripes across keypad when typing. I'm manager of a mental health support group online and need a phone!! We are not a business, we are a non-profit organization. I have had to buy another second hand phone, can I send the S20fe back as I don't want or need it. I have also changed my number, can you please email me.
