Planned to use this as a tourist SIM

If your buying it as a tourist SIM, be aware that the activation process take 4 hours. Also the price is high considering how much data you get. There are plenty of cheaper options.

Great and easy service

I've shifted from Telstra and I couldn't be any happier. The app is far way intuitive, the customer service is super responsive and the signal quality, which was my main fear, is the same I used to have with Telstra. Everything for a much cheaper price. I've seen complaints about the customer service, but for me has been working really fine.

No working partner Network in the UK

No partner Network in the UK so best to change to an alternative provider such as Vodafone before leaving Australia if you need to receive SMS messages or calls (for two factor authentication for banking, tax, government online accounts, etc.)

Disabled auto-renew on the dataplan

Disabled auto-renew on the dataplan. I had to top off during the month. Amaysim turned on auto-renew with this, without informing me, or asking my approval.
They are now charging me this.

Edit: The customer support reached out and resolves this issue very quickly and professionally. 5/5 for customer support. Still keeping the total at 4/5 stars as the app auto-renewed without informing me.

They literally try to scam you

They literally try to scam you, i bought a phone online and recived it and bought data with it too, when i recieved the phone i try setting up the sim and it tell me on the app to wait 2-7 days which i did for smtg to arrive in the mail, nothing happens so i email them and they say nothing has happened because i did not verify ID in which there was no way on the app of doing it, so i send it to them and the idiot customer service person have such low iq and i send a copy of my pass port and they say that they have trouble reading it like there is such thing as zooming in idiot so i had to tell them the number

then they say they had to contact the id team to verify me and after a few hours they say that they cant verify me like mate i just sent a copy of my passport.

and they didnt even offer to give me a refund which i had to ask for so now im waiting for a response . plus i was super friendly in the emails the whole time.

the person responding was Jerson Galamiton (he works at amaysim)

Disappointing

Unable to disable auto-renew and keep on using banked data. Nobody has been able to provide any reasoning behind this questionable practice, which is not only disappointing but frustrating - so is the experience with the live chat - been getting conflicting information all the way. Avoid!

Amaysim steal customers money for unused service

I have had a 500GB data only pre-paid service for about 6 years to use mobile data for business while travelling. As you would expect - it is expensive $109/mnth
Due to a change of circumstances I no longer need this service and cancelled it 9 days into the monthly billing cycle. No pro-rata credit issued for the unused 21 days service. That's essentially stealing from your customers Amaysim. Dont bother with this company

THE REWARD I GOT FOR SIX YEARS OF LOYALTY

13/11/2023 11:02am

I have been a loyal customer of Amaysim for SIX years.

About a month ago 14/10/2023 my credit card which I was using to pay my monthly Amaysim fee was compromised, as such, my bank had shut it down.
When I discovered the non payment of my monthly fee, I advised Amaysim that once I got a new card issued I would pay my fee.
See message below I sent to Amaysim.
14/10/2023
To whom it may concern.
Please be advised, my Visa card ending with 6123 had been compromised, as such, my bank had shut it down.
I will be getting a new card within the next week or so, when I will advise you of my new card details.
Unfortunately, after only two days, they disregarded my message and Amaysim had suspended my service.
That was the way they rewarded me of my SIX years of being a loyal customer.
Furthermore, when they reinstated my service they increased my monthly fee from $10.00 to $15.00

Optus outage sucked but Amaysim comes good!

Optus outage sucked, but Amaysim just gave out bonuses based on your plan (free calls, etc) - I got 60Gb free on our plans, so they're trying to make it better. I've been with them now for 10+ years (like before Optus bought them in 2020), on plans from PAYG to premium - always had great chat service from the help desk, and even refunds when I didn't understand how some billing works. Optus crisis management - you have SOOO much to learn, displayed really amateur behaviour for a communications company. You need to totally redo your BCP.
