Don’t waste your time buying from Amazon

One purchase was paid for and not delivered. I requested a refund. Rude and arrogant “account specialist” - poor customer service.
I received the following message from Amazon:

“Hello,

We noticed that you have requested refunds or replacements for a large number of orders because you reported that you did not receive your package. We understand that occasional problems with orders are expected in the normal course of business. However, the unusually high number of missing items that you have reported exceeds this occasional expectation.

As a result, we are unable to guarantee delivery on any future orders you place with store sellers on Amazon.com.au.”

My reply as follows without any reply.

Dear nameless account specialist,

1. Please list the large number of parcels that I didn’t receive.

2. The photo supplied by you of the delivered package was not taken on my premises. I suggest that you rather investigate your dodgy delivery contractor than to accuse me of fraud. I buy all the time from eBay and other online platforms and never had a delivery problem before.

3. This was my first purchase from Amazon and after this experience and receiving your threatening message to limit or close my account, I will save you the trouble and not buy from you again unless I receive a sincere apology from you.

4. I look forward to share this message and experience on social media as well as review websites.

5. If this is the way you treat a new customer, you’re not worthy of the title of “Account Specialist” Your communication is a guaranteed way of getting rid of customers.

I’m not holding my breath for a response from you.

Having trouble buying any fkn thing. First of all i couldnt even log in to my old account so had to make a new one with no help from customer service available, now i cant even pay for my order when i press continue to choose payment method the page just reloads. Never mind i’ll buy elsewhere!!

Why does Amazon use aramex ?

Why does Amazon use aramex for the delivery of items? I live in country NSW, If they use Australia post i get what i ordered in 3 days. When they use aramex items are stuck at the last depot before they get to me for a week or more. I was told yesterday that an item I'm waiting for was out for delivery and would be delivered by 8pm. It was not delivered. Can't even change to using catch as they use the same bloody courier.
If you look at reviews of aramex it seems impossible to find a rating over 1 star. This very website has a overall rating of 1 star for them. Please Amazon for the sanity of you customers that dont live in a big city stop using this awful courier.

Great online shopping experience

I recently purchased few travel essentials for my family for our trip to Bali. Earlier my wife was a bit skeptical about buying products online but the travel bag quality is good. Amazon delivers what they promise. Though, the delivery is not as expected but it was still on time. Great shopping experience, would like to buy on Amazon again.

WORST COMPANY FOR DELIVERY BAR NONE

Amazon would be, without peer, the worst company for delivery. Plenty of companies offer free delivery without exorbitant yearly membership fees. Part of the attraction with Amazon is they quite often offer next day delivery, 90% of the time if you are not in a hurry it arrives the next day and conversely, 90% of the time you actually need it, it doesn't arrive. On Tuesday I ordered an item my daughter needed for school by Friday morning, since it was next day delivery (Wednesday) I figured that was safe, wrong!! The muppet driver tried to deliver Wednesday morning, no contact, nothing, just turns up and I am not home, so for the first time in ages he takes note that parcels are not to be left and takes it with him. It was supposed to be delivered later that day and he just didn't show up, again with no notification. Thursday morning at 11am still no notification and a very helpful message from Amazon saying"if it hasn't turned up by Saturday, let us know", you MUPPETS!! You said next day delivery and then you say if it doesn't turn up within 5 days contact us. When you contact them you get someone in an O/S call centre reading the same old tired scripted bull and another 30 minutes of your life wasted. I have also had many parcels left unattended which have been stolen because we are on a main street in the city, fair enough Amazon have refunded or re sent but it's not convenient. Amazon are often not the cheapest so if they don't have convenience on their side then what good are they? Bye bye Amazon

Seems that delivery drivers are under a lot of pressure from Amazon!

My product from Amazon was due for delivery yesterday before 8pm. I live in a large gated community in regional NSW. Normally deliveries are left at reception/front office, but after about 3pm the office is closed. Anyway, delivery driver phoned me about 6pm & said he's at the gate. I said I'll walk up & get my parcel. He saw how small I was & how big the parcel was, & he said no, I'll carry it down to your place. While we were walking, I said why so late. He said he just had to delivery my parcel today no matter what! I said it makes it difficult in large gated communities & I wouldnt have minded if I got delivery the next day in normal working hours. He said he has been working for 12 hrs today & still not finished, & was just so glad he had my phone No. A very caring & conscientious delivery driver! Hope Amazon appreciates him. Kay

Obviously too hard or complicated.

Purchased a tablet from amazon on the 30 /8/24…

Subject: Non-Delivery of Tablet and Poor Customer Service Experience

Order Date: 30/08/2024

Issue: I purchased a tablet from Amazon on 30th August 2024. Despite waiting for two weeks, the tablet was not delivered. I contacted customer service, but they were unable to provide a reason for the delay. They promised to email the dispatch team and notify me within 48 hours. However, I did not receive any follow-up.

I contacted customer service again, but they repeated the same script, unable to explain the delay or provide a solution. They again promised to email the dispatch team and notify me within 48 hours, which did not happen. After three weeks of waiting and receiving no satisfactory response, I decided to cancel the order.

Resolution Sought: I am seeking a clear explanation for the delay and assurance that such issues will be addressed more effectively in the future. Additionally, I would appreciate a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused.

I ordered the Barbie 'Ken doll with wheelchair' on Sat 24 Aug as a gift for one of my granddaughters. On Mon 26 Aug I received an email advising the item had been shipped and was due Friday 30 Aug. Much to my surprise, it actually arrived on Wed 28 Aug instead. It was lucky I heard the box landing at the outer door of my porch as the courier did not even knock (nzpost, so can't blame Amazon for that). I will definitely be shopping with Amazon.com.au again.

Absolutely abysmal

Absolutely abysmal. I was given a gift card, but did not use it when in Australia. So asked to transfer to my UK account or elsewhere. Refused. So messaged Customer Services assistants kept cutting off, unhelpful, didn't want to spend time on it. Shame as Amazon UK is brilliant! The staff there, and in America need to train the Aussies!

I got my package delivered today on a Saturday and it's the real deal I finally got my barbie claudia schiffer barbie in her versace blue dress I kept reading the bad reviews about Amazon australia but I ordered on Thursday and yesterday it got shipped and I received it today I don't know why people saying Amazon australia is bad I think Amazon australia are awesome I got the real deal but I had one issue but that was last year but now I'm happy with Amazon australia this year Amazon are good I'm happy with my claudia schiffer barbie I'm in love with her she's now in my collection with my other dolls and figures

I was given the option of next day delivery or save packaging and get it a day later so I chose a day later as it was my day off now my delivery “expected” up to 5 days later!! On 14th August 2024, I found my returned goods box when open found garbage papers and Gattas costing of the required material is approx 10,000 rs. i immediately complained to return and go for the option of missing goods and accessories. but when I scroll through new options of return goods like Amazon wants to confirm that I return goods that I want.
no option like when you found not any goods in your box which received by world brand amazon. Now all processes I have to follow to receive my refunds. now I have waited for 4 days they committed that to me that they call me after the investigation. I have nothing goods, my money, not even complained no details. only Assurance they committed in the call.

Amazon.kdp does not exist in Australia

I am a UK author. I ordered 6 copies of a print on demand book for print and delivery in Australia. Delivery was quoted 4 weeks, which is dreadful. I then got a notice saying delivery is 7 weeks - it's out of stock. How can a print on demand book be out of stock? Their service help line was worse than useless. I had three "assistants" in 5 minutes and all wanted to start again. None could help - only tell me what I already knew. In future I will order my books in UK and ship them to Australia.
Update on 17 Aug 2024. I ordered the 6 books from amazon.UK at 9am, Thursday. They were delivered at 1pm Saturday. 53 HOURS to receive order, print books and deliver.
My sales in Australia are ZERO. I don't believe amazon kdp exists in Australia.

Terrible service, Terrible support, and offensive customer service.

I ordered a piece of luggage and paid extra for it to be delivered the next day (last-minute trip). The tracking indicated it had been delivered in the evening. Excitedly I went to retrieve my package to find there was nothing there. I went and checked all of my neighbours, but was disappointed to see that it hadn't been delivered to them by mistake. I thought I would contact customer service but the automated responses told me the delivery driver must have just completed the delivery from their end early, and to just wait for my package. In the event it didn't show up, wait several days before they would consider anything further on the case.

With baited breath, I waited - nothing arrived. Amazon did at least refund my order once I was able to further raise a dispute several days later. However, this was shortly followed up by an email indicating that it had most definitely been delivered, and the only possible conclusion to be drawn was that I was in fact lying, claimed a refund, and essentially stole the luggage. I am now on an official Amazon warning that should a similar situation arise again in the future that my account will be banned and I will no longer be able to purchase from them.

I decided to respond. I asked for a specific time the delivery was supposed to have been made. I offered my ring doorbell footage for this time period to show that the delivery had in fact not been made to my address. I also offered to share the ring doorbell footage of myself and my flatmate going out to search the neighbours front porches, and coming back disappointed and luggage-less. I also offered to show them the receipt for the same piece of luggage that I had to go out and buy the following day as the trip was still happening and I'm fairly certain the airline like items to be packed in some sort of case while onboard.

I have also requested similar evidence from them - where is the obligatory photo of a package by my front door? Does such a photo actually exist? I would certainly love to see it - at least then I may be able to identify which door it was delivered to on my street if it was in fact delivered (not the first time a delivery has gone to a neighbour by mistake).

I find it incredibly offensive to be branded a liar and thief. I rely on delivery services such as this due to chronic illness that severely impacts my ability to go out and do my shopping myself - and believe me, this would be my preferred option. Instead, once again as much as I hate having to justify why I can't simply go out and get it myself by disclosing my personal circumstances I offer this information to explain why delivery services are important.

Had Amazon come back and stated that the delivery had gone to the wrong address or there was some issue or something and just been honest, I would not have had an issue. Had they simply not sent the offensive email after my refund, I would not have had an issue. I was happy to receive my refund and thought the matter to be closed.

My goal for this review is that I hope that somebody reads my experience, and looks for solutions other than just to blame the customer.

Amazon's illegal refund policy

Amazon is a disgrace. I had purchased a Samsung phone (not cheap!) but was delivered a $55.00 power bank instead! When requesting they send me the item I had PAID for, they advised they can only refund me my money only AFTER I had sent the wrong item back to them.. which they stated might take up to a month?! Consumer Law states this is in fact illegal, and customers are entitled to receive the intended good purchased. When advised this Amazon just said sorry, no can do.
