Ordered a phone and contract 17th March…

Ordered a phone and contract 17th March 2026 and waited and waited and waited for the order to be dispatched. Phoned several times to ve assured they had stock arriving. Please wait 4 days as it's on the system as on way. Now today they cancelled the order as could not get stock. Surely it's illegal to sell items you don't possess. I entered into a contract and if I had cancelled I'd be penalised yet they don't. Awful service especially not mental health issues awareness snd how this can effect humans.

Mobile Phones Direct - Maya saved the day!

Applied for a contract which required…

Applied for a contract which required an upfront payment. This was declined but it took exactly 1 month for the money to refund to my bank account. I don't how they issue refunds but it sounds shady as hell. Avoid at all costs and any sister sites that they operate.

Falsely advertising contracts

Falsely advertising contracts. next day, didnt get any and took 3/4 days just for checks. i have asked for money back and nothing. i am now charging them legally each day for this and invoicing there head office. I will take them to court until i get my money

Great service

Helpful assistant on the phone when called for upgrade and new contract. Phone arrived the next day at much better price than other companies including network provider. Used for last few years for whole family and never had an issue.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company
Ordered an o2 contract with them through affordable mobiles
The phone was lost in transit so I contacted them to find out what was happening. I was told they need to do an investigation and will get back to me in 15 days so I asked to cancel it which they agreed
I now have a bill from o2 so I contacted o2 to check if the it’s cancelled and have been told no
So it was no another phone call to AO who have now informed me they can’t cancel it until the investigation is over 15 days but it’s now day 16
In the mean time they have my upfront cost and I have to keep paying a monthly bill for a phone I haven’t received

AVOID - AO MOBILE

AWFUL SERVICE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

ordered an iPhone 16 from Mobile Phones Direct, but I was informed and realised I couldn't transfer my old number to the new device. I called customer service and was advised — on a recorded call — that if I returned the phone within their 14-day returns policy in pristine condition, I would receive a full refund.

I followed the instructions exactly. I returned the phone via Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured and well-packaged. Days later, I received an automated email refusing my refund, claiming the device was "damaged." They included a suspicious photo that looked nothing like the phone I returned — it appeared to show deep scratch marks that were not present when I shipped it back.

Despite multiple calls and a chain of emails, they have refused to acknowledge my side of the story. Meanwhile, they have taken a direct debit payment of £44.00 for a phone that is not in my possession — and which I believe was damaged after I returned it.

This has been a terrible experience. I feel misled, ignored, and financially exploited. I am continuing to fight this case and will not stop until my contract is cancelled.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. READ REVIEWS FIRST.

Good price and problems sorted out

Sorted out a great deal with them on my new phone. There were lots of problems, but they sorted them all out one of their members of staff Jay was absolutely brilliant. And didn't let it drop until everything had been sorted out. They are very lucky to have him as a member of staff.

Price was good, customer service, comms and systems terrible

Price is competitive, but communication and service are terrible. My order for new iPhone hit a problem when they couldn't link accounts to the carrier. I provided further information as requested, but received no further feedback, confirmation or communications

Then email received at 18:05 on the day they were supposed to ship saying they didn't have any of the stock that their website stated (and that I'd placed an in-stock order for) and phone wouldn't be delivered until the end of the week.

No apology, no offer to help further. This is not the level of service I've come to expect and is poor vs the many excellent suppliers out there.

Hopefully this improves

Dpd delivery sucks

I've used AO for last two phone contracts no problem, until this week!
Two unsuccessful delivery attempts as I work a full time job and have no one else to take delivery. I requested a safe pick point but they can't do that I asked for a weekend delivery they can't do that as Dpd don't delivery on my area on weekends! So had to cancel my order as there is no way of actually getting my phone. Won't be using ever again!

Declined - No explanation

I placed an order for a mobile phone with a 24 month contract. It has been declined with no proper explanation given ("failed to meet our internal credit and security criteria"). I phoned customer service, getting through quickly, and was told that no further detail could be provided. I have e-mailed AO Mobile to ask for a better explanation.

I am genuinely confused about why I would have been declined: my finances are sound, I have no debts, I have no criminal record, I have lived at the same address and held the same bank account for many years ... etc..

The failure to provide a proper explanation is unacceptable.

Web site was easy to navigate the…

Web site was easy to navigate the downside is they showed a phone in stock. They took my large deposit said it was going to be delivered on Friday. It’s now Saturday. I had to ring them to find out what was going on to be told that the phone was out of stock and it could be up to another two weeks for the phone So unfortunately for them I just cancelled it and I’m gonna go with mobiles.co.uk

What a useless company

What a useless company, ordered a phone this morning then just got inundated with stupidity, I need to do this & I need to do that; I don't pay money to have to jump through hoops to get my product, if there are any concerns about legitimatecy I would think it should be on the customers part about how the Internet is full of rip of scams; like ao phones direct

Don’t believe all the bad reviews!

I feel like people only put bad experiences on TrustPilot. I was at a wits end with Vodafone, whose upgrade offers were shocking in comparison to upgrading through AO.

The process was flawless. I received my iPhone 16 Pro Max the next day. Sim swapped from the old phone and that was me ready. Even threw in a USB-C plug/2x cables with a glass screen protector.

Everything went smoothly with Vodafone, with my updated plan details showing that same evening.

Stop being ripped off in stores and shop around for the best mobile deals.
