Avoid - they're a joke
Wow...such a bad experience with Mobile Phones Direct. I was aware the iPhone 16 was likely to be delayed but pre-ordered from MPD as they stated the delivery would be on time. Everywhere else showed delays. On ordering I was told further checks still needed to be made and that they would email me a temporary password to set up an account. I never received that email but could set one up anyway. I heard nothing else until they emailed at about 6pm on the day before delivery was expected to say it was delayed. The email however had a date in the past as when to expect delivery by. It was the date I ordered the phone. So I emailed to get better info and they said 2-4 weeks. This was now the same as everywhere else. They said I could wait or swap to a different kind of phone. So I asked if I was able to cancel my order (just checking my options). The next email from them was saying they have cancelled the order! I didn't actually ask for this!! So now I'll be at the back of any queues. Just appalling from start to finish - I'm actually pleased they did cancel and I won't ever make the mistake of using such a joke of a company. Oh, and after I was emailed to say my order was delayed you were able to order the phone with next day delivery on the site! I suspect they would then say it's delayed after you order. Crooks!

Sent out a faulty mobile which within a week of purchasing won't charge or switch on. Sent back for investigation, at a cost of 10 l pounds out my pocket, to have no communication until today when I received a message for dpd to say I was getting a delivery from them. No context.
Called CS and was told that because the handset had a cracked screen, which didn't affect the handset purpose, they wouldn't find out the cause of the powering issue. 2 year contract I an tied to without a handset as I'm now outwith my 14day cancellation even though I haven't had it in my possession for 14 days. Angry doesn't cover it. Where do these companies get off?
Fix the fault leave the crack. Not an issue.

Signed up to 4 new contract with this service on Saturday to be told 1 phone would be sent out per day due to the cost of the hand set and fraudulent reasons, no problem I understood that. We are now on Tuesday afternoon and no phones have arrived. I rang Monday to be told the phone would be out today and today I have been told they are on hold as out of stock and will be issues in the next 4 - 7 days 😑. Customer services are little to no use and me and my family are now out of contact. Steer clear of this company and stick to a reputable phone provider.

Was told a manager (jay) would be handling it all ASAP phone was returned to them at 12.48pm today took me righting up at gone 5pm today to get them to even realise it had got back to them wa told I'd get a manual redelivery with dhl for next day delivery then told it would be another 1 to 2 days .......utter joke of a company, incompetent workes with 0 ability to help customers at all.

Even if 02 are upgrading there system there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of information or the false advertisement. Absolute joke of a company! I made an order for myself and my husband to renew our contract, no upfront costs and £41 per month each, this all went well… or so I thought. My husband’s phone arrived next day but not mine. When I enquired about this I was told the sales person had written my surname down wrong. How he did this I don’t know because it’s the same as my husband’s. Anyway, I get told no you can’t have that deal anymore and you have to pay £29 upfront and £57 a month. When I argued this the sales guy hung up!! I rang back and got a female sales person who tried setting up my order and saying I would have to pay £29 upfront but this would be refunded within 3 days. So we’re nearing the end of the hour long call when she realises she has put my order through as a new contract not an upgrade?! I didn’t want to change my number by having a new contract so we had to go through the whole process again paying another £29 that was promised to be refunded within 3 days. Well well well I’m still waiting 2 weeks later. All I get told is they have passed my information on to the relevant department… I will never be using ao mobile again.
Great deals but won't let you buy them
I have tried to apply for a contract 2x now once for my daughters phone and once for mine combined the price wouldn't even come to what I am paying for my current contract yet I was declined with no explanation. I've never missed a payment with any of my finance payments I also earn more than my partner yet he's often in his overdraft and makes less than me and he was accepted. Great deals but unable to actually get them. Very poor. And no explanation as to why.

I ordered my daughter a brand new phone as a late Christmas present just after 5pm last night. It arrived this morning about 9.20am. Absolutely amazing service. Messages alerting me all the way. Very impressed and would definitely use again.

If I could give negative stars I would - I ordered an iPhone on 19th May 2023, waited 2 weeks for my number to port across. Then within 3 days the phone began randomly turning off, saying it had an unknown battery part. Contacted Mobile Phones Direct who said send it back we'll check it. Recorded delivery states that they received it 13th June, 2 weeks later they are still saying they haven't got it. Then it miraculously turns up. They say they have checked it, no fault and are sending it back. Ring them, they advise don't accept delivery and we'll check the fault again. I finally received the phone back 29th July - It has turned off randomly more than 11 times today and has the same message regarding the battery!

Horrendous company
Horrendous company. Took my money for a deal, then received an email saying I’d failed a security check. Rang up to enquire, said couldn’t say any more but to check with the network (3). Checked with them didn’t know what I meant, checked my Experian credit score, was 999. Not sure what’s going on with them but seems dodgy.
