I fail to see why AOL need to regularly request I "prove" who I am - I have had my same account for at least 20 years. This annoying incessant pop-up rubbish NEVER happens with my Gmail account.

Actually, less than zero. After Yahoo got involved with AOL, one of my inboxes was deluged with spam. Now, if I understand correctly, Yahoo has sold AOL on, so let's hope there is substantial change... See more

Spam Spam Spam, over a hundred a day now for the last three months, for a global company to allow this is pathetic and shameful, they really are a third rate set up.....

AOL allows people to steal your account.

AOL has allowed not one but two of my AOL emails to be hacked and will do an absolutely nothing to return them back to me. They keep telling me someone will contact you in 24 to 48 hours it's been over a month and a half I've called numerous times they just blow me off I've only accounts for over 30 years this is how they treat their customers.

The spam filtering for AOL mail is…

The spam filtering for AOL mail is terrible. To make the mail host worse there are no user tools to block or add spam sender email address domains for direct blacklisting. In 2023 the customer deserves better service.

Bad customer service

Bad customer service! Order washing machine a month ago and suppose to be deliver. Two day prior of the delivery state the stock is out of stock. Speak to customer service and they don’t have a clue and giving wrong hope and delivery date. Trying to offer substitute that is a downgrade and make me to pay more!

I ordered a 50 50 fridge freezer on the 4th of January 2023, the sales person send me the wrong fridge, the way this company deals with complains or to amend anything is very frustrating.

The earliest that they are able to deliver will be the 27th of January 2023 and they have audacity to charge over £115.00 plus £20 for recycling old one.

Do not use AOL or Verizon

I got a new computer for my parents and attempted to set up their email. Unfortunately, they subscribe to Verizon, and the provide5 abdicated their responsibility for email service to AOL long ago. The AOL smtp server was malfunctioning or misconfigured and when I contacted tech support I was sent to a sales representative to try to force me to pay them to deal with the issue. A few hours later the account could miraculously send email with the exact same settings it had when I started wasting my day trying to solve the problem. The moral: stay very far away from both AOL and Verizon.

Beware of AOL selling products they haven’t got.

On AOL list to be notified when American fridgeFreezer was back in stock. “ coming back in stock soon”. Notified on Friday16th Dec was back in stock so ordered, paid inc next day delivery. Spent afternoon emptying cupboards and moving furniture to accommodate delivery. At 7pm received phone call to say that it wasn’t in stock and wouldn’t be for at least a month. Asked for explanation. Told “ must be problem with website!” Now seen reviews from others who’ve had similar experience. Cancelled order and won’t be using AOL again. Appalling.

AOL has no respect for its customers

AOL has no respect for its customers. AOL email users have been bombarded with fraudulent SPAM for years and the Company does nothing to prevent it or allow its customers to block it.
Yes they provide a SPAM folder but this is a useless option. Checking 50-150 SPAM emails per day to ensure that valid emails have not been captured by the SPAM folder is wholly unacceptable and is not a solution
The fraudulent SPAM received (including those with sexual bias) is being seen by children and vulnerable adults yet AOL refuses to act to prevent it. This is totally unacceptable behaviour for a major international company.

Access to e mail accounts

I have been locked out of two of my AOL e mails
This has happened before and I managed to speak to Technical Team and they sorted it all out - I had been hacked and they gave me a Cisco Firewall.
I have had these e mail accounts since 2002
AOL will not unblock as I did not provide enough information: They want me to list 4 e mails which I wrote more than seven days before the problem. They want e mail address AND subject matter.
If I don't have access to my e mail accounts how can I possibly provide such information?!
These e mail accounts hold very important information and documents. I need access as soon as possible

AOL are liars!

My wife has already written a review, which AOL responded to with more lies. We ordered an Oven for delivery and driver took pictures of low bridge, stating couldn’t get through in Van. Wife gave directions for alternative access and was told that road was closed. Total lie and driver couldn’t be bothered to drive round. I drove down that road five minutes later.
Next option for delivery was 2 weeks later!
Disgusting service and continue to lie!
Will never use them again!

Unacceptable for AOL to lose 3000 emails mply horrible

Simply horrible. A week ago I heard they wer4e associated or bought by Yahoo and then I lost 3000 unread emails. Phone calls are useless. It is so terrible to lose your emails and the company gives you the run around. Simply wordst email service among the known emails.

This will reflect bad not only on AOL but Yahoo also.

What has happened to people being able to comment on news items on AOL? You used to be able to scroll down to the bottom of an item and add your own comment & interact with other commenters. Now, regardless of whether I'm on my phone of my laptop, whether it's a Google search for AOL or through their app or through Chrome I click on the blue comments bar,, expecting to be able to air my opinions and NOTHING happens! Dont try to fix what isn't broken. Go back to how it was and give us , the general public our voice back!

Some years ago I was advised to download the new aol app as the “old” one would be deleted. Today, I was sent, by a friend, a computerised version of an absolutely beautiful Carol for a four part choir with piano accompaniment which they had composed. This, however could not be opened in the latest app but fortunately, on my deciding to become quirkily intractable, I found that it came through in the “old”app. ???😖

AOL supply a none functional product

They delivered a fridge freezer which doesn't work and we've had it for over a month and it is still not been repaired.
They have sent engineers who try one thing the go away for a week or two before saying we need to order a part so that will be another 2 weeks. It is ruining our food and driving up already extortionate food bills.

An update, they have changed a part but now it seems that it may have been the fan and they will order it and come back again in another 2 weeks. This is depressing and frustrating. It should be fixed within the first few weeks of the fault.

Over 20 years of frustration

I have had aol mail for over 20 years. I rarely have a problem. However, every few years it seems i run into the same huge problem. I contacted aol support about it awhile back, and they said because of covid there was no support! Now there is support (only technical support for paid customers even tho ive seen aol ads my whole life), but they wont write me back. I believe i called a long time ago, and could not resolve the problem. The problem is I can receive 97 percent of automated emails. (that number's an estimate). The other 3 percent, will never come thru, no matter how many times they are sent. This has locked me out of an important stock exchange, kept me from being able to easily recover a password, and had me fighting with a company for weeks over a return. The shipping label they were trying to send to me would not come. Im just so fed up. I really dont want to change my email address, but im tired of the same problem. Plus it doesnt seem like a common problem, so these websites are confused, and think its user error on my end. I never liked their buggy site and ads anyways.

I've had aol email for over 10 years

I've had aol email for over 10 years , I changed my phone number and now I can't access my email. I call aol customer service and they tell me I have to subscribe and pay monthly for them to reset my password. They have an old security system that doesn't allow you to chose another option so if you don't have access to the number you signed up with then you lost your email for life. AOL is not professional and they have limited answers and solutions to simple problems such as resetting your password.
