I had a very disappointing experience with this service. A technician came to examine our oven, which was not heating. He provided a diagnostic based solely on visual inspection, without checking any components. He suggested replacing the control board, which would cost $740 plus taxes.

When I asked how he could be so certain without a thorough check, he simply said he knew by just looking. The visit cost me $100, and I feel it was wasted.

Without checking all the other parts that could potentially be causing the problem, how can I trust that replacing the control board will actually resolve the issue? There’s no guarantee it will work, especially since he didn’t test other components, like the heating element, for example.

I would recommend avoiding this company.

Technician came out in September and charged $100 for the initial visit, which was supposed to be discounted from the cost of repair. They said they needed to look up the cost of the part. They never got back to me or returned any phone calls or texts after that. Followed up with the website several times; got a response via email or an agent on the phone each time who assured me they would follow up, never got a response from that either.

I had these people come to look at our washer. Supposedly diagnosed the issue, so I proceeded with the repair. The repair was not the issue. The service tech said he needed to contact Whirlpool to figure out the issue. It has been three weeks and after 4 separate conversations with the customer service people (3 times with Ben and once with Alex), I have never been provided with an update on what they are going to do. The service tech has not even bothered to respond to my multiple texts. I would give this company a big fat zero rating if I could. They are happy to charge three times more than all the local companies, but then take the money and run without actually doing anything. This company is a joke. Don't waste your effort, time, or money on these clowns.

I do not recommend this company. They do not speak or understand English. I paid $150 to be told the problem I had didn’t exist and when it reoccurred, I was somehow scheduled to have something entirely different repaired. Then when I cancelled, they tried to charge me for the repair.

My washer drain motor stopped working so I contacted appliance repair experts - they where fast to get back to me and schedule a diagnostic very quickly.

1. The diagnostic visit was quick (less then 15min), the tech spun the drain motor and said it was the problem (didn't try running the washer at all). He said he would order parts and left without taking down notes (such as my washer model)
2. The second visit was ad hoc on a Sunday - but being only a couple days after the diagnostic I was excited to get my washer fixed. He took the washer a part and then realized he brought a part for the wrong model. He told me he would be back later on in the week.
3. Third visit was a week later (after I texted him several times for an update) - he came back with the part and replaced it. He put my washer back together - plugged it in a brand new error code for washer door came up. He said the washer was broken and he couldn't fix it. I pointed out that this is a brand new code I've never seen and it only came up after he worked on it. He said he would come back with his colleague who has experience on Bosch washer.
4. Fourth Visit - after following up throughout the week I finally received an appointment for a Sunday repair. They no showed. When calling their dispatch for an update it went to voicemail. When my wife called to schedule a new visit they were quick to call her back.

I was told over the phone that the visit was $89 + tax and that the technician would quote the repair once on site. If I decided to go ahead with the repair, the service all fee was waived. So far, so good.

The technician showed up on time. I was expecting the quote for the repair before it was done. Instead, the technician said: "It's done".

I received the invoice with no details whatsoever of the work that was done without authorization. I called to request the details and the invoice came back with the following information:
"Explanation of the issue: main part is not cooling"
"Description for the work done: circulation issue"

Don’t trust them, customer service is horrible and stop picking up. They picked up right away when I tried booking an appointment but stopped answering my calls.

This company has zero credentials, will take your money without delivering the work you paid for and will literally run away when you try to ask for a refund. Stay away at all costs! We got scammed big-time and their “employee” ran away from our place after we pushed for a refund and misrepresented himself to be the “owner.” They will also block your phone number immediately so I had to use another number to get in touch with the “Ontario” office. They blocked that number as well. Just never call this company for any repair. Check their BBB profile and if you are a victim, file a police report, file a fraud complaint at Canadian Anti Fraud Centre and most importantly, dispute the transaction with your credit card company so this Appliance Repair Expert will be on the credit bureau’s radar and hopefully remove their licenses to have terminals.

This company is a complete scam. They do not exist on Google reviews or the BBB website. We had a tech out to repair our fridge, he installed a part that did nothing and now they are screening my calls to try and get the issue resolved. We are out $600.

UPDATE: In December (1 year after the original issue) the company contacted me to offer a refund and resolve the issue. After the initial communication, they have been completely unresponsive again and will not return any communications to resolve this issue).

Never knew what they were doing and never worked right
Phoned for one and half hours to have them come back and repair
Finally called back Booked appointment
Tried to call ten minutes later and cancel after I read other reviews not on their website again after an hour to get through they sent me $100.00 bill through email

Want to update!! I went online later in the day and tried pay the $100.00 cancelation fee would not let me wanted just to be done with them
Someone from their customer service called and said they would waive fee if I went on their website click on Google business reviews and leave a 5 star review It`s obvious their reviews are bogus I never could pay online ended up sending e-transfer for people who want to pay to get rid of them

I had a very frustrating experience with this company. I called to get my fridge fixed and they offered a diagnostic service, stating that the $144 fee would be waived if I opted for the repair. I waited for them to follow up about the repair, but despite calling 20 times, I couldn't get any response.
Eventually, I reached the technician who had come to assess my fridge. He informed me that it needed a gas refill and I asked him to notify the office that I wanted to proceed with the repair. Instead, I received calls from three different representatives, all from the same customer service team, who ultimately told me they don't offer HVAC services.
I felt completely abandoned after they "diagnosed" the issue, which took like 10 minutes, without any follow-up on repairs or recommendations. They should have clearly stated that they don't handle HVAC work. I even mentioned that I suspected the problem was a gas top-up when I initially called

Overall, I found their customer service to be lacking in accountability, honesty, and responsiveness. I would rate them 0 stars in all areas.

Note: I had another contractor take a look at my fridge and the diagnosis and repair isn’t what they said.

They go by many different names and they don’t have “appliancerepairexpert” as their Google registered business in order to avoids the negative reviews from their disappointed customers

Avoid them!

Attempted to cancel Technician no call back no email response. Now getting threatened to be sent to collections

sent a technician to replace a malfunctioned stove top element. It was a 3000W/1400W(which i did not know until much later) and they put in a 2500W/1200W. it was until some cooking were done and my wife noticed that the cooktop did not give sufficient power, requiring more time and finished with undesirable results. We then made other enquiries and realized that it was the part that was incorrect. We put in the correct one and requested to be reimbursed the cost of the replacement which we believed is more than reasonable and yet they ignored our message completely.

Worst company ever. I had to cancel 24 hours before the appointment and they sent my bill (for no actual work done) to a collection agency. It's been 18 months and I'm still getting harassing emails.

They sent a technician to inspect and place an order for a replacement part same day. Unfortunately, that part was supposed to be installed last week and has not even arrived with them. The technician and quality manager keep missing deadlines and I have lost faith they will get the job done.

It’s a total scam

Worst customer service ever! DO NOT USE THEM. Technician came out and said he need 3 parts to repair fridge. I paid for parts and labour upfront. Took forever for technician to come back. Every time they would say they’re coming I would stay home and they never showed up. This happened at least 5-6 times. Zero respect for my time. When they finally came back they used one part and it still didn’t fix problem. I asked for refund for unused parts and to this day have not received a refund and fridge is still not working. The most frustrating people I’ve ever dealt with.

Appliance Repair Expert started out really good Once we had the part for our dishwasher the technician came back to install Apparently after he left it fell apart We went to store to look at a similar appliance and realized he installed the upper slider part upside down I have tried calling them over 20 times to come back and fix and am getting nowhere Their technician said on Friday he would let me know a time for next week and never called back I would definitely NOT recommend them

We called Appliance Repair Expert to repair a Bosch built-in fridge because the freezer was not cool, The repairmen said he could not find anything wrong with the fridge, he asked us to unplug the fridge for 24 hours and then plug back in, we followed his instruction but no improvement, we called him back, he said it is better to replace it with a new fridge. The fridge is 7 years old and cost $12,000. We asked another company to check it out, they found the fan was not working. It was replaced and works fine. I think the guy did not know what he is doing, the charge of $143 went to the drain. Very disappointed with this company.
