I got a good technician and came within 2 hours of booking the appointment. He was Russian, and wasn't super friendly, but did a good job. However, he charged me $320 for a LG Drain Pump that should... See more

I must revise my one star review
I must revise my one star review. The company apologized and did refund my payment. Great service. I am impressed.
No Communication, 5 Different Contact Numbers
We reached out to them to fix our oven. The technician found the problem super fast. Told us there were 2 parts we needed to order that would be $800.
2 months later, there is no communication from them. We called them, they had changed their number again (5 different numbers since initial contact). They couldn’t even give us a status update.
I would not trust this company again. Beware.

Fridge repair
They came to "fix" my fridge, which involved them scraping off ice from the back of the freezer. Told me to unplug the unit for 4-6 hrs then plug it back in. The fridge worked again for a day, then stopped working again. I called them multiple times and the guy that came to "fix" it the first time kept saying he would call back to schedule a time to come look at it. Worst repair company ever. Can't actually get through to any humans to talk to when trying to call the company main phone number. This company is 100% a scam, do NOT use them.
Useless technician
The guy showed up on time Thursday afternoon, but did not know any more about a dishwasher that I did. He left the unit half apart in the middle of the kitchen and said he would be back with a new discharge pump and not charge any more labor to put it in. He did no tests to determine that it would fix the issue. We paid him almost 300 bucks. I texted and asked for price and delivery of the part. Late Friday afternoon he responded that he did not know the price or delivery yet, and would get back to us Monday. On Monday at 5:30 pm, he reported that the part would be "about 200$ plus shipping". No mention of how much shipping would be nor when we could get it installed. He did nothing but leave a disassembled dishwasher in the middle of the kitchen.

Waste of time and money...Stay away
Tech was in my basement for 5 minutes, he saw I had an old maytag washer said the brake is stuck and he can't fix it. He left without saying anything else. I had to call the next day to see if that was all he was doing and was informed that no parts are available so no more work just pay the bill. I'm warning you to stay away.

Basically A Scam
Charged $280 for less than a half hour of work. And that was after a supposed $30 'new customer' coupon. I say supposed because it didn't actually show up on the invoice other than as a fine print note, so who can really say. Charged $326 for a part that goes for $73 on Maytag.ca. Sure, the oven works now, but at the cost of all sense of decency, honesty, and fairness. Avoid this place.

Paid $ 144 for wrong diagnostics
Paid $ 144 for wrong diagnostics, we were told needed a new compressor for the freezer. The technician just scrolled through his phone to find out what may be wrong. After the weekend the freezer manufacturer send out their technician and just replaced a fan belt to fix the problem. Appliance repair will not reimburse or pick up the phone

I wanted to give negative stars if i…
I wanted to give negative stars if i could. They dont even deserve 1 star. In May 2023, I contacted appliance repair expert in Guelph for repairing my washing machine and dryer. An appointment was booked for diagnosing the problem (I don’t remember the exact date) at 9 am in the morning as I had to go out of my house by 10am for work. They said they will be there by 9am. I waited on the specified day till 10:30am. No one showed up. I even called them continuously, but no one answered. I got a call at 11am saying that they are coming. I told them that I have left the house and I waited for them for 1:30hr. There was no apology, and the person was very rude. he said, "do you don’t want us to come" and i said yes as I had already left the house. So, they did not come, and no service was provided. After few months, I got a call from collection agency saying that I owed money to this company. I TOLD HER THAT I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY THEM FOR THE PAYMENT OR SENT AN INVOICE. I explained the situation, the lady said that they have got similar response from other people also about this company. She said that she will close the file and I don’t have to pay anything. After that there was no correspondence. During this whole time the company did not even contact me once and did not even send me any invoice. In May 2024, I got an email from Dixon commercial (collection agecy) that they tried to contact me on several occasions and since I did not respond they are sending me this email. I replied and explained the whole situation to them. But they did not care about the explanation. I even called and left numerous voice mails but no response. On further pressing the issue, they sent me an invoice whihc was totally rubbish. I again explained them the situation, but they still did not care. I got an email again today saying that they will report me to the credit bureau if I don’t pay. When no service was given, when they did not keep the appointment time, how can they expect me to pay. This was outright extortion. SInce i did not want get in the mess i ended up paying. BUT BE CAREFUL. THEY WILL BILL AND THEN EXTORT MONEY THROUGH COLLECTION AGENCY EVEN IF THEY DONT SHOW UP FOR THE APPOINTMENT

Paid $144 for a diagnosis that didn’t diagnose the problem with my oven. Fortunately I didn’t waste another cent on this outfit. They do not seem to be a legitimate repair company.

This company. Booked an appointment for the following day. They said they would come between 12-4. Did not show up, no calls.

This is a scam operation
I called to have my dishwasher serviced. The technician came and gave e a quote, charged me half of the service saying he needed to order the part and would be back in a couple of days - have called the technician and the company several times and they just disconnect the call. I called back using a different phone and the fellow that answered said that their customer service department was just busy and they would call back. This has been going on for weeks. No call.

Warning
Warning: Once they take your money, they don't care. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a company. If you're reading this, I strongly suggest finding a different provider.
It's been over a month, and my oven is still not properly repaired. The technician, Tom, insisted I pay upfront when he first assessed the issue, which I did. However, it took him two weeks to return, only to forget crucial parts. He came back a week later and partially fixed the oven, but it's still not fully functional.
The most frustrating part is that Tom never responds to my calls or texts, despite having read receipts on my messages. Additionally, customer service never returns my calls. They seem only interested in taking your money and have no interest in solving your problem.
Better communication would have made a world of difference. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all costs.

never get involved in doing business with the company!
I just had a horrible experience with Applian Repair Expert, which made me feel so regretful for not checking the customer reviews here or on other platforms before booking their service. I only looked at the reviews on their own website, which were pretty good. The whole story with the technician was so disgusting. Even though I want to move on from the bad feeling about them, the technician's behavior was dishonest, and his excuses for not bringing the necessary control board (I paid the deposit for the main control board and the second control board, but he only brought the second control board with him) to fix my refrigerator were ridiculous.
He told me he replaced the defrost thermostat, for which I also paid a deposit, for my small refrigerator. When I asked him where the old defrost thermostat was, he pointed to a brand new one. I asked him why it was brand new, and he told me he brought two defrost thermostats. Then he got mad at me for asking him where the old part was. The whole process of repairing my refrigerators was so weird. Before his arrival, my main refrigerator was still cooling, although it had an error code. It stopped working and could not even be turned on anymore after he tried to fix it and before he left. So I had to buy a brand new refrigerator. The whole procedure of dealing with the technician was time-consuming and a headache for me, totally wasting my time and energy and making me exhausted.
Anyway, my conclusion about the company is that I wish I had read others' feedback here earlier; then I would never have gotten involved in doing business with them!
Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company! I paid for a technician to come and look at my dishwasher that wouldn't drain. I was told it was a diagnostic visit and the money I paid him would then be applied to whatever work he did. I stupidly paid him $140 for his visit. He told me he was ordering parts and would return in a couple of days. Then he disappeared! Didn't show up, wouldn't return calls or messages. Total scammers! Be warned.

I recently had my dryer serviced by a technician that may have been dishonest and may be disreputable. If you live in the Surrey, B.C. British Columbia area: Please be warned. I paid 268 on credit and another 268 by cheque for repairs. I thought it sounded a little high but the technician said that the parts came to the same amount as the labor and that he will provide all the details on the receipt. The day after I paid I called the head office in Ontario and asked how much the parts are for my dryer. They told me that the parts are generally no more than 60 dollars and that the company also doesn't accept cheques. Shame on me once but not shame on me twice! Heed my words! I don't recommend this company. (Appliance repair expert)
Beware of this company
Beware of this company! Our experience with them has been nothing short of a scam.
After contacting them for an appliance repair, a technician claimed a special-order part costing $500 was needed for the fix. We paid promptly, but the company failed to deliver the promised service. Despite numerous calls, we were repeatedly transferred or hung up on, making it clear that this is a deliberate tactic to avoid accountability.
What makes this situation even more infuriating is that we sought a second opinion from a legitimate company. To our surprise, they fixed the issue by simply cleaning the pump, and the replacement part quoted by the scam company never needed to be replaced.
Our advice: steer clear of this company at all costs. Save yourself the frustration and potential financial loss. It's disheartening to see such unethical business practices, and we hope our experience serves as a warning to others potential financial loss. It's disheartening to see such unethical business practices, and we hope our experience serves as a warning to others
They are scammers
They are scammers. You send them money for the part that is supposedly defective. Then they dont answer the phone or hang up on you. They tell you to ask for a refund or that they will call you back but no one ever does.

I called for washing machine
I called for washing machine. The technician showed up the next day. I paid for the diagnosis and then the technician told me I had to e-transfer $250.00 to him in order to get the part. That was 8 weeks ago. Every time I call they hang up. I asked for my money back and they told me I had to email a complaint. The technician is not returning my calls either I lost almost $400 and still have a broken washing machine. They also call you after the technician leaves to ask you if you are happy with the service. They offer you 15% discount if you put a good review. So don’t believe the good reviews

FRAUDULENT COMPANY STAY AWAY
FRAUDULENT COMPANY STAY AWAY: B.S. DIAGNOSIS, NO OFFICIAL WRITTEN QUOTE, USURARY MARKUP ON PARTS, HANG UP WHEN YOU CALL TO COMPLAIN. ALL POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE -- YOU CAN TELL BY THE WAY THEY ARE ALL WRITTEN IN THE SAME STYLE. Called for service on an electric oven and received a rapid call back. "Technician" came at the appointed time. NO DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. Turned the oven on, opened door and placed his hand near the element (which was cold, the reason for the service call). Then said both heating elements had to be replaced. No testing with an ohmmeter (he didn't pull the oven out of the cabinet). DID NOT PROVIDE A WRITTEN QUOTE -- SAID IT WAS AGAINST COMPANY POLICY!!! Later texted a deposit amount we needed to pay to have the parts ordered, which would take 3 months. The stated amount was $879.63 (for 2 elements). THE ACTUAL PRICE FROM THE BRAND'S OFFICIAL LOCAL PARTS DISTRIBUTOR: $275.85. SO APPLIANCE REPAIR CHARGES A 320% MARKUP. Even worse, the "diagnosis" was wrong -- all 3 elements are in fact functional (the oven has 3, not 2 elements as claimed by the pseudo-technician). The problem was a defective control/relay board. I called to obtain a refund on the "diagnostic visit", if an agent answers, he promises to transfer the call but hangs up; if you call back, they hang up immediately. LIARS, THIEVES, AND INCOMPETENT.
Update: I received a request for additional information so the company may actually determine my complaint is “genuine” (!) and also address my concerns directly. Are you kidding me? A follow up more than 2 years after the event?!? This only reinforces my previous conclusions: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Do not hire this company
Do not hire this company. The same thing happened to me. They do the diagnostics but never come back. I’ve been waiting over a month. The part that needs to be replaced is available, but he does not come back to install it!
