I boarded bus 67 from Eccles gateway a…

I boarded bus 67 from Eccles gateway a few minutes before 7pm on Friday 5 April 2024. My destination was Asda Peel Green. Its a 2 buck trip. I had a 20£ note. Driver refused to take it , said he had no change and asked me get off the bus. I shouted to fellow passengers if anyone had change but noone did. Was about to get off the bus when a good samaritan left his seat, came to the front and paid for my fare. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life. I felt like a homeless beggar because of the callousness of one fat bearded Asian bus driver. Upon arrival at my destination, I whipped my phone out and decided to ask the driver a few questions while recording. Asked him what his name was and if its in the company policy to deny a passenger service cos he doesn't have change but the guy refused to answer any questions. He turned away from the camera. Oh BTW when driver saw the good samaria coming to help he suddenly grabbed a handful of pound coins! Guy had plenty of pound coins but was too lazy to be bothered to count the money and preferred to send off his bus instead! Denying to give me his name is disgusting. This is not the first time I have experienced bad behavior from bus 67 drivers. It happens often but this particular incident has left me questioning myself, would he have done this if I were a white person?

I would put no stars if possible

I would put no stars if possible, even worst that go north west buses!! Waiting 40 mins for a 98 for it to only go to prestwich and have to get off and then waited another 40 minutes for another bus to get home! Not to include the time the bus takes to get to places because of road works, timetable is wrong and unable to track buses because they just aren’t setting off at alleged times. Pay £85 for this nonsense.

Service not as advertised

Today I had to wait over half an hour for a 59 bus that is scheduled every 12 minutes, then two came along at once! I decided to walk it back rather than risk another long wait and when I was between bus stops another two 59 buses passed by together. Not great!

Absolute crap

Absolute crap! My wife is currently waiting at the bus stop for half an hour. During that time there should have been 3 buses. What happened to the live tracker? I spoke to someone at Bee and was informed the tracker was working. A lie! This so called improvement is a disaster hang your head in shame Andy!

Doesn’t take travel seriously at all

Doesn’t take travel seriously at all, I’m almost always late for something that should be half hour bus ride away, if I want to be on time o have to set off an hour and half beforehand, just because it’s known for buses to just not show up at all (20,22,582)

For the price of this service it’s not worth it at all

£85.40 for 28 days. Yet if I'd get 7 days, it's £21, so if I get 4 weekly passes, it's £84. How tf does that make sense? Shouldn't be buying 28 days pass cheaper than buying weekly passes?

Busses very late and app/website is useless

Busses very late and app/website is useless - on the first buss app it says my buss will stop at a certain stop which was different to my old one however on the bee network app/website it said it will still stop at the same stop as it used to. I asked one of the bee network workers at the buss station they said it will stop at the one that first buss said. So first buss managed to update their systems but the company running the busses - bee network couldn’t manage to update simple changes. I am now an hour late

The MayBee network....

The MayBee network....I'll put in a separate complaint for each one of my recent experiences including bus numbers (I don't mean service numbers but buses), so this is a blanket review.

With the exception of central Manchester public transport in this part of the country is truly appalling and has made me regret moving back. (I should have learned my lesson 20 years ago and stayed away. I recently made a decision not to apply for a job because I couldn't guarantee I'd be able to get there.)

Just for starters, buses are consistently late; dirty; sometimes don't turn up at all; drive the wrong routes (do MayBee satnavs not work or what?); broken ticket machines; erratic and beyond grumpy drivers who hate those with a disability and show it in the way they slam out and take in the ramps; take pride in trying to practise their VTOL skills at traffic lights; and where DO they get their licences? Alton Towers???

One colleague was on a bus where the driver braked so hard the glass shattered, it was a bl**dy miracle her granddaughter in her pram wasn't badly hurt. There are bus drivers in my family (though not on this side of the Pennines) - and they'd be ashamed to behave like this. (Funnily enough, they've never worked for Go Ahead: my heart sank when I knew they'd got the GM franchise, after my experiences in the north east with this company.)

Oh, and then there's the app. Quite apart from the fact it's NEVER accurate (not that surprising given how many times the ticket machines/trackers fail), apparently today I can only buy a ticket for the trams. Which don't exist where I live. I can update my smartcard next time I'm on the bus, but apparently have to have cash to do this??? Is it me, or have your logic circuits malfunctioned big time?

Seriously TFGM, what are you playing at? You'll drive me back into being a regular car driver at this rate, despite how insane and reckless everyone is on the roads round here. (Not a myth, they recently voted THEMSELVES the worst drivers in England and I reckon there must have been a lot of bus drivers in there.)

The services are usually late, if they turn up at all.
The bee network app is useless, today fir example it told me the bus was 4 minutes late only for it to arrive 2 minutes early. Who makes up this useless crap?

Bus 35

I waited at Piccadilly Gardens for up to 60 minutes on 08/03/2024 for the 18.38pm 35 bus to Bryn.

It never showed up, nor did the one which according to the Bee Network live departure tracker was 1 min away from Piccadilly Gardens at 19.11pm. That bus did not arrive either. It simply disappeared from the live departures tracker.

When the 35 bus to Leigh finally did arrive at Piccadilly Gardens 60 minutes late I asked the bus driver what happened to the 18.38pm bus.
He shrugged and said I don't bloody know!

How someone can say there aren't enough bus 36 or 37 to Bolton is incomprehensible to me. Within the space of an hour at least 8 bus 36 or 37 arrived at stand P. As soon as a 36 left another 36 or 37 to Bolton pulled up behind it.

We need more buses on route 35. Barely half a minute seems to pass between a bus 36 or 37 departing Piccadilly Gardens and the exact same bus pulling up behind it! Yet bus 35 turning up reliably and at the timetabled time is pot luck and a guessing game.

Ever since bus 34 became bus 35 its level of service has been shambolic!

The live departures tracker is inaccurate, unreliable and useless

An appalling uncaring attitude from the bus driver on top of waiting in the freezing cold for two buses which failed to turn up did not help. I'm sure they see passengers purely as cattle.

Shambolic!

Never on time, be thankful if they do turn up!

Seems more money has been spent on the vinyl wrapping of buses and a bee logo than actually providing the public with a service that is reliable and punctual.

To say it's under public ownership it's an utter farce and doesn't seem to be getting any better since the Bee Network's introduction many moons ago!

Finish work at Leigh at 6PM, get home in Wigan at 7:45! Nearly 2 hours to get home because buses don't run to the advertised schedule or don't turn up at all! Never known anything like it in my life!

Today was the first time I have used…

Today was the first time I have used one of the new buses. I just fancied leaving the car at home for a change. Me being on the bus won't happen again. My mates mini bus has more seats than these buses have on the bottom deck. There is a wheelchair space where there is a fire escape. So picture this, two wheelchairs together in the same sqaure and there's a battery fire. How is anyone going to escape if there is a wheelchair blocking the door but then again, you only see a wheelchair once in a blue moon. I asked the driver where are all the seat and he said, upstairs. Erm I think I'll pass on that. You go up stairs and half of them are vaping or their music is way to loud. Oh well, good luck to all those who will be fighting at rush hour to get a seat. The buses were packed before there was less seats. Where is everyone going to sit now. Just more proof that they want us all in cars. Good luck everyone.

I'd rather pay the £2.70 and have a bus that actually exists/arrives. AWFUL service.

I have been stood in 2 degree weather (no seating) waiting since 6.55 for the 7.02 (362 Wigan to Chorley) (Wigan Lane Swinley Road stop).
It was showing as on schedule/due then disappeared. The same has also happened with the 7.22. This is a frequent occurrence and something which absolutely did not happen prior to the introduction of the "Bee Network".

I regularly politely enquire with drivers why it has been late and generally receive a defensive/angry response, a different excuse every day. Blaming the last driver did not leaving the depot on time, a fault with the actual bus, somebody didn't turn into work.

The same happens on my way home. More than once this term, I have been stood for over an hour across from Kenyon Road (Standish) on my way home from school. Ive seen students, stood in the rain (no shelter at this stop) and after a long wait, setting off walking home, some live a long walk away from school.

I need to be at my desk by 7.30am in order to prepare for my day. I am a secondary school teacher and this time to prepare for my day is vital. But even if we take this personal context out of the picture, and exclude the fact that's it's winter...this is completely unacceptable.

I have now just had to get on a stagecoach bus which takes a very long route around the area, meaning that I have left the house at 6.50 and won't be arriving to work until after 8am. (A journey that is about a 15 minute drive).

What is going to be done about this and who is accountable? Every day it's a total lottery as to when a bus will come (if it comes at all). I regularly speak to a cleaner from school who needs to be in by 7.15 at the latest and is having issues with the site time due to her frequent lateness. I hear the angry/frustrated conversations between passengers almost every day.
