I ordered a knife via Facebook and it has been over a month. I should have known better. That was a lose of 40 dollars. Oh yeah also a .99 cent international charge
CORRECTION OF BAD REVIEW.
This is a correction.
My product arrived today in a rather mangled box and I am very pleased with the product (Gerber LMF II knife). Was sent from California,so the issue might be communications, particularly with the customer.
I ordered from them via Facebook
I ordered from them via Facebook, (first mistake), guaranteed 7-15 delivery. I believed them (second mistake). Gave me a tracking #, however when put in 17Track there is no record of the tracking #. Then they hit me for an additional .45 cents for international fees, which I didn't agree to, but I guess they want every cent. Now all I get is a form letter about shipping issues, delays and such....Now I read they are in receivership.....never again....!!!!!!
I ordered a Gerber folding knife but…
I ordered a Gerber folding knife but have received neither the knife nor any explanation. Now I read in Trustpilot that they are in administration/receivership, so I am not optimistic. Continuing to advertise products for sale at the point I ordered would seem to be improper at the least, and possibly illegal.
I purchased a stiletto and did not receive it,plus they never contacted me
I purchased your product you charged my credit card and I did not receive what I purchased, when can I here from you?
Fold up Scooter
I ordered one of the fold up scooter through there website since March 20th as of today I have not received my product they took me for 39.99 dollars and I'm trying to find out how to get my money back.
Gone with my money
As with previous comments, Bombinate went into administration. I have not gotten any updates or replies since July 11th. Placed my purchase around £460 in May, then they told me that the product was out of stock and I could wait until mid-June once they restocked. I waited till early July and still nothing, so I asked for refund, then they told me the devastating news.
They pretty much just vanished with my money.
Devasted to finally discover the news…
Devasted to finally discover the news that the company has folded. Have been trying to reach them for weeks to return a furniture order. I was given the impression from the site that they were taking a brief break so have left messages etc, thinking they will get back. But alarm bells really started to kick in today that I have still not heard back, that their website is still down, that I still cannot get through on the phone and that they still are dealing with a call from another customer... Started trying to search to see if my worst fears are true - and yes they are.
Does anyone know if there is anyway of addressing refunds in a situation like this. I've never experienced it before.
Gutted and devastated.
Beware
Beware! Bough a couple of sneakers from them And a few days later they disappeared. Reached the brand (comovita) who told me they went into bankruptcy. Thankfully the brand was happy to ship me the sneakers despite not having received the order from them.
I've had many issues with Bombinate…
I've had many issues with Bombinate over the years. For example things like VAT and duty is paid for upfront but that doesn't always happen and you have to chase up refunds.
My most recent experience has been the worst. I reached out directly to the seller of one of my orders and they told me that Bombinate had gone into liquidation. They hadn't been paid and of course, I haven't received anything even though I had paid. So it seems that Bombinate having been taking money from customers when they knew their business model was going to fail. I've lost money and I don't see myself getting it back.
I also have a problem with Bombinate not communicating to buyers that they are in a liquidation process. They've left us in the dark. I wouldn't have known had I not reached directly out to the seller.
Here is the email the seller forwared to me:
There is no easy way to say this and I wanted you to hear it from me first.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to raise the necessary capital with our current business model - especially, in the light of the difficult macro-economic environment. Therefore, we will have to cancel all pending orders.
Today, we will enter a liquidation process that will last around 6 weeks. We have appointed one of the UK’s best firms to act in our creditors’ interest, and you will receive a letter by post in the next few days.
We have shared all unpaid invoices with the restructuring firm and they will generate a report for our creditors. They will try to find the best outcome for you. Until the assets are sold via the liquidation process we will not be able to influence the outcome or make any payments.
We are working with our investors to make an offer on Bombinate’s assets. We have a strong plan to continue operating our business with an updated model. If we are successful in this bid, we will offer our brands a program to continue growing with us and recover unpaid invoices.
We wish the situation could be different as we have poured our passion and energy into this marketplace for the past 5 years. We truly believe that brands like yours deserve to grow sustainably. Over the years we generated over £16M in sales for our brands.
We are making our team redundant so we will probably take longer than we’d hope to get back to individual requests. We will be in a position to take calls later this month and will be in touch then.
Again, Elliott and I are sorry our partnership - at least, in its current form - has to end this way. Know that we have done everything in our power and left no stone unturned to find a way out of this complicated situation.
We hope you will join us in our new journey, in whatever shape or form will be best to keep promoting your quality pieces.

They've gone into administration and…
They've gone into administration and have not let any of their customers know. I found out after directly contacting the manufacturer of the chair I bought. They owe me 100s of pounds in undelivered products and have no way of getting in touch with anyone.
Horrible customer service
I do not know how it is as a purchaser, but as a seller it is horrible.
They have no phone hotline for sellers, and they reply to emails in about 2 weeks. I am also due 2 payments that should have been made 2 months ago.
I will be cancelling my account once I receive payment
UK buyers avoid
I've returned items via their free return service, however DHL have been in contact saying they are waiting for the receiver paperwork from Bombinate, I have made several attempts to contact Bombinate which all have been ignored. In 2 days the shipment will be destroyed, and I will be making a claim against Bombinate.
Now gone into administration.
Now gone into administration owing me a refund for duty and a piece of furniture.
The most frustrating and despicable behaviour is the fact that customers money was being taken and the manufacture of the goods was not being paid, therefore goods were not being delivered..
I'm sure the CEO is enjoying a bowl of Acai in the morning at customers expense..
Refund
I have been trying to get a reimbursement for several orders. Customer service is unresponsive despite me emailing them a dozen times. The website no longer works either. Stay away! This is a scam.
In liquidation
Just been advised gone into liquidation, took my order, took my money, kept sending emails to say my favourite item (the thing i ordered) was back in stock/out of stock. Promising a refund by 1 August. Makes all of the recent responses from their Customer Manager somewjat hollow
Gone into administration.
Gone into administration.
Looks like they ponzi'd the business into the ground on the back of VC funding and when they couldn't close another round, the shut up shop. Another bull market genius.
Not sure how a marketplace can steal customer funds, but I think that's whats going to happen with my refund.
Gone into Administration
Administration
Be careful as I have been informed that this business has now gone into administration. I have been waiting 6 weeks for my order. I contacted the seller directly this morning who have informed me that have not been paid by Bombanite (Carl Frederick) and to get a refund from them directly.
Now I’m the position with my bank to try and get a refund for goods not received.
Months of back and forth - still no refund
Unfortunately after many weeks of trying desperately to get an actual answer from your customer services via email, online chat and twitter I've resulted in having to waste my time writing a terrible review for a company that has so much potential to thrive.
My husband was advised to pay the import tax as it was a 'mistake' which they would refund once we showed proof of payment. He paid c. £50 to release the chair from customs and submitted his proof of payment to Bombinate. He has spent hours going back and forth, being told, 'the refund has been processed' when we have never received it. Then the next time he gets in contact, someone will 'escalate it to their manager' and then radio silence. We have gone back and forth for weeks wasting our time as we have to explain the situation each time we get through to someone. Still out of pocket and totally none the wiser as to whether we will ever be refunded what we were promised.
Can we please be sent the refund for the import tax you promised to reimburse us for? At this point, we're unsure whether you lied to us.
The irony is, had you refunded us and responded to our queries with accuracy, this review would not have been necessary. As the chair itself was gorgeous. Such a shame and totally unavoidable.
