I went to the store just before it closed down and then purchased a hat online. The service and hat I received were both extremely disappointing.

Ordered a hat on the 12th December and still not received it despite trying to make contact with Christy’s a number of times. Money taken, no hat received = theft!

Ordered 2 hat in early December which were never shipped. Money was obviously taken straight away and I received a dpd notification that they were expecting my parcel, however it never arrived.
Emailed several times but received no reply, not even an auto reply or anything.
Tried phoning but no answer. Theft.

Order confirmed on 13 December and then DPD acknowledged they received order details but not received the parcel. I emailed Christys customer service and got an acknowledgement with a 5 day period for dealing, but have heard nothing since (mid January) despite further emails and trying the telephone help line (unavailable). So non-existent customer service.

Still awaiting refund
I’m extremely disappointed with the customer service from Christys’ Hats. After returning an item, I did not receive my refund and have had ongoing difficulty getting any meaningful response from their customer service team. Communication has been slow and unhelpful, with emails either ignored or met with vague replies that don’t resolve the issue.
For a brand with such a long-standing reputation, this level of service is unacceptable. Customers should not have to chase repeatedly for a refund that they are entitled to. Until this issue is properly resolved, I cannot recommend ordering from Christys’ Hats. Poor after-sales support completely undermines the quality of the product

Robbed of two caps. Order had two caps missing and no refund or replacement has been offered

I am in exactly the same position as previous review (Max), only I ordered even longer ago on the 12th Dec. Still not received by DPD, but only too happy to take the money straight away on the 12th. This tells me not a one-off but something untoward going on. A Xmas present someone won’t receive and I too don’t know if I will receive the goods (ever). The website has changed in the last day, to say a new website coming in Jan, perhaps time/money better spent fulfilling orders from customers shopping here in good faith?…Order at your peril :(

I placed my order on 14th Dec and got an email to say parcel was dispatched on 16th. However clicking on the tracking link shows that the courier hasn't actually received the package. Today is 23rd Dec and the courier still hasn't received it. Emails go unanswered apart from an automatic answer back which basically says they might take five days to respond and any chasers will be put to the back of the queue again. Not a great way to treat customers. I have no idea whether I will actually receive the items ordered. Definitely no chance of getting them for Christmas as intended. I am still keeping my fingers crossed for an actual delivery at some point but who knows.

They have gone onto liquidation but are not pointing this out on their website. I returned two hats and have had an e-mail to say I’m unlikely to get my money back from the liquidators.

Appalling customer service - I’ve been waiting for a refund for around a month now, having received an email estimating it to take 7-10 days to reach my account nearly a month ago. I’ve emailed 3 times with no response (they say it’ll take up to two days!), and have tried ringing with no answer (they list their number for a more immediate response). The return itself and its confirmation were quick enough, but otherwise at this point it looks like they’ve stolen the money!

Made an account on looking at hats as quite fancied a couple. Got the new customer discount easily enough (just activate tab when account created). Bought the two caps after using the measuring advice given. Arrived super quick (DPD delivery which is always appreciated), and well packaged. Caps are very good quality materials nicely made, and yes, measurement worked, they do fit well! Very efficient and swift experience.
I bought a superfine-panama hat on their online shop. When it arrived, i found there are many „hangnail“ on it ( i don‘t know if it is normal), and the hatpin fell off.
I also bought a elm „classic fedora“ last year . I was attracked by the soft felt(the felt is much softer than my Jrmarengo‘s) , also they used a “crown range”hatpin.
It seems that they are not going to run a summer discount this year. And it is upset that they stop selling „knightsbridge fedora“ , „Adventure/Poet hat“ and their „Homburg hat“ any more, also raised they the price of „foldable fur felt hat“ this month.
I ordered a Baker Boy Cap in Navy wool, which was on sale. I received an email the next day from Christys' saying they are out of stock.
I then ordered another Baker Boy Cap in Navy cotton that was also on sale. The next day, I received another email from Christys' that the cap was also out of stock!!
I have a Baker Boy Cap in Black wool from Christys', and it is made in China which I only found out a few moments ago from reading one of the reviews.

Customer service is terrible. Placed an order for a size 60 which was available online and they of course took my money. I then get a very blunt message that they don't have size hat in stock and advised I will get a refund in 10 days. I contacted them and advised that I was a little bit surprised that there was this issue when they advised that this hats are hand made to order. Reply was that they don't have the hat components. I then get another notification 10 days later that my refund would be made in another 19 days.. 20 days in total... I have asked when they expect to have the hat available in my size and they have said "Next season for SS26" No other explanation and this hat and size still shows as available on-line.,

I have a few christys hats. They are nice hats but the sweatbands are stiff, and uncomfortable.
As for the company. They advertise that if you sign up to their newsletter, you get a 12% discount. I signed up, and never got a code. I sent them numerous messages via their website, and Facebook and Instagram message platforms. No response whatsoever.
I get the feeling that they don't care about the customer.
Made an appointment to visit Christy’s in Witney and to meet Marguerite. I found her to be very patient, friendly and knowledgeable with a difficult and picky customer, me. I had already decided to buy a specific Panama for an afternoon tea party in the spring and also wanted to see the fur Fedoras for a future purchase. I am very curious about hats and Marguerite showed me dozens of models, different colours, fur and wool, Fedoras and Trilbys. I wanted a fur Fedora or Trilby with a lining, but when I saw a wool unlined Fedora which matched the exact colour khaki I was after and was a really fine felt, I decided to take it because it was an end of line colour and not to be repeated. I customised the ribbon to a coffee colour for just an extra 10 GBP. I am really pleased with both hats. The Fedora complements my green tweed jacket and fits really well.
Christys hats are excellent. I would just say colours and size can vary slightly so if you can make an appointment and pop down for a fitting then it’s much easier.
If you want to wear a Fedora, man or woman, I say be brave and do it. We need to see more people looking smart and stylish.
I have been in the store in St Christopher's Place, just off Oxford Street, twice in recent weeks buying a baker boy cap and a fur felt fedora. The significant Black Friday discounts overcame my long standing denial of the need to replace my 25 year old Christy's trilby that has, to be fair, seen better days.
I will let you know in 25 years if they make hats like they used but I would urge you to visit the store if you are in Town and to see for yourself whether or not you like the look and feel of the hats and caps and to get yourself fitted properly. I am told that most things you can buy on the internet these days but decent headwear? I don't think so.
I was served by Dexter on my first trip and Cathy on my second visit and both were absolutely excellent. They made me feel welcome, shared their time and knowledge generously, flitting effortlessly between myself and other customers, and they could not do enough to ensure that I left satisfied. There was no hard sell and certainly no snootiness, just a passion for what they do, for the hats they sell and the Christy's name and a desire to help the customer find the size and style they want, at the price point that suits the personal budget.
Thank you Dexter and thank you Cathy. My new Christy's hat and cap may well outlive me but please keep doing what you are doing, as yours is a level of customer service that we see far too infrequently these days giving the customer what the help and support they need to leave happy in the knowledge that they made the right purchase. Thank you very much.
