I had a disappointing experience at Christy’s Hats in St Christopher’s Place, London. Initially, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member who shared some interesting history about Fedora hats and assisted us in finding the right size and trying on different styles, including baker boy hats.
However, things took a turn when we mentioned we weren’t planning to buy anything that day and might order online instead. Her response was shockingly rude: “Well, that doesn’t help me and the shop.” This unprofessional comment caught me off guard, and despite thanking her again for her time, she ignored me entirely as we left.
I left the store feeling frustrated and disheartened. A customer should never feel pressured or shamed for not making an immediate purchase. This kind of behavior discourages potential future business. It’s a shame because the products were lovely, but the experience was soured by this unprofessional attitude.

This was my first time ordering a fitted hat and I was looking for a high quality Indiana jones style fedora that was in my budget and made in England to avoid any additional costs, after reading online I discovered Christy’s adventurer poet.
This hat was made in their uk factory.
I’m by no means an expert on the dimensions of the Indiana jones fedoras and there is obviously more than one hat used in the franchise to choose from, I thought that the dimensions of the adventurer poet looked good to me so I decided to order.
It arrived sooner than they said it would and I’m happy to report on receiving that This is a brilliant fedora! More than happy with the quality I received,It comes with an open crown for you to shape how you want, I was worried about shaping this because I didn’t want to damage it but the email I received from them told me there would be no problems, happy to say that they were right. The crown can be shaped very easily and it holds its shape well.
While i think the colour is a bit darker than the official ones (ordered sable brown ). I got it for a fantastic price (normal price is more than fair for the quality you get but I was very lucky and managed to be looking at the site a day before their summer sale kicked in.
I cannot recommend Christy’s highly enough and I’m More than confident ordering from them again in the future.
I tried to buy a replacement for my 7 year old Christys' bowler. Each of the three hats supplied had quality control issues. I had hoped that flagging my concerns and lack of confidence in the company with the Managing Director might have helped, but I was referred back to the Quality Control Manager, who simply processed a refund. I am purchasing a replacement from Lock & Co.

I purchased a wool baseball cap for a Christmas present for my husband online. The button on top has come off. It had a metal shank that was not properly attached. The “quilted” lining is not stitched but fused in little dots to make it look quilted. The stitching to keep the headband in place is coming out. And worst of all the tag says Made in China!!!!! False Advertising!!!!

I'm very happy with my topper. Christy's shipped it, overseas, free of charge in less than a week. It fits like a glove and matches my morning dress perfectly. I'm really glad my formal ensemble is complete.
Try Cording’s if you want British made hats, Christy’s hats are made in China.

Best panama hat i have ever seen. Dont be put off by negative reviews the quality is outstanding and the packaging is superb. You will not find a better quality panama hat in the world. I dont normally write reviews but i think previous reviews are not fair. Will always be buying my hats from them in the future.Delivery was super quick.
I wished I looked at the reviews before even ordering!
To be fair I only heard about Christy's last week when I friend who will be visiting the UK mentioned the brand, and I had a nosy on the website and saw that were 'British made' and they had a cap that I liked. Ordering was a bit of a phaff, because they don't clearly show you the sizes and if you try to call, they are always closed! When I finally spoke to someone, they were rather rude in all honesty.
When I finally received the item, I was absolutely shocked to find my British made cap was in fact made in China.
While I know most stuff is made there and I do not have issues with that, what I do have issues is, for paying something that is 'British made' when it is not and paying for it at a premium price!!
They don't offer free returns, but I will be returning this item just for the principle of it all.

So disappointed with this company! They give it all the British heritage baloney, yet their merchandise is made in China. I was looking to buy a couple of Baker boy ( newsboy ) hats, for our American cousins. Not only was I trying to buy British, I was trying to avoid buying products from countries with appalling human rights records. Shame on you Christy’s!! 👎🏻

Great product but poor customer service. I placed an order at full price and noticed the hat had gone into sale before it had been dispatched. I emailed asking for the sale price to be matched but the email wasn't answered for 4 days. I then got a notification saying the hat had been shipping then they emailed to say they wouldn't match the price.
I called to explain and make my case and was told a manager would call back. The following day I received a call from Laura the manager who stated they wouldn't be matching the sale price.
I suspect they sat on my email until the hat was shipped so I didn't cancel and re-order at the lower sale price. I'm so annoyed by this I'm returning the hat anyway for a refund.

I can honestly say that from my first enquiry all the way through the order process to delivery I received absolutely first class customer service experience from a young lady called Jasmine. Jasmine was incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable but above all was very personable making me feel very important. Not only was she very helpful, she took my contact details and contacted me back when the item I wanted was back in stock and then helped me through the ordering process adding all the little touches for my gift which is incidentally for my husbands birthday (surprise)
A huge shout out to Jasmine whom her Manager should be incredibly proud of but equally worried I may poach her for my own team😁Customer Service is incredibly important and Jasmine has that 100% customer wow factor!!! Thank you Jasmine for being utterly amazing!!!
Please be aware if ordering from the EU that you will now have to pay import taxes. At no point is this mentioned during the online purchase process. Not even at the checkout point. I now have an import tax bill of 49 Euro's to pay for 2 caps. When I called to query this, I was told that this was 'clearly stated' on the website. It is not.
At the very bottom of the home page there is a link (in small print, obviously) for information on Delivery and Returns (which one would assume would contain information regarding the delivery and returning of items and not info on import charges).
When making any other purchases from outside the EU, it has always been clearly stated during the order process, whether customs/import taxes are applicable and whether or not they are the responsibility of the buyer or the seller. This is a blatant scam to retain customers in the EU. If I'd known that I'd have to pay import charges, I would not have ordered.
At the very least, if Christys' are so desperate to hold onto their clients in the EU (I had used them several times in the past but never again), the details of this should at very least be laid out under a heading such as 'Tax and Import Charges', rather than 'Delivery and Returns', as is the case at present. This is beyond misleading and bordering on fraudulent.
Contacting customer service was a complete waste of time, as I was constantly talked over by what sounded like a broken robot, which kept repeating the phrase 'this is clearly stated on our website'. Again, it is not clearly stated; The mis-information is under a misleading heading and even then does not commit to telling the buyer that they will pay import taxes.
Only purchase (the now made in China hats, with a Christy's label as misdirection) if you're willing to pay the same amount in tax as you already did for the goods ordered.

Absolutely terrible experience with CHRISTY & CO LTD also known as Christys' London also known as Christys' Hats.
Placed an order in early January. Was told 4-7 business days for delivery. 6 weeks later still waiting...
I have reached out to customer service 4 times and keep being sent an "it's on its way, thank you for your patience" email followed by a "issue resolved" email. The issue is still not resolved. Ridiculous and unacceptable. Beware of this Company. Do not send them your money.

I rarely write reviews, and I usually only take the time to do so when I'm dissatisfied. However, I wanted to say that the customer service I've had from Christys' has been exceptional.
There was a slight issue with a Panama hat I purchased. It was something that I was happy to live with, but had asked for some advice on. I rang their manufacturing number (the shop is currently closed) and spoke to a very helpful lady. I followed up the conversation with an email.
Christys' not only gave me the advice I'd asked for, they offered to replace my hat! I hadn't asked or expected them to do so. The hat arrived soon after and it's fabulous.
I've also purchased a beautiful fedora. I ordered online and the hat arrived a week or so later.
I've had first class service from Christys'. Their hats are beautifully made. I heartily recommend them.
Absolutely appalling shopping experience. I have bought many items over the years but never again. The ascot hat box I purchased was faulty and a gift for Christmas, it took nearly 4 weeks to reply to my email and I rang several times and the phone just rang out. I spoke with a Director who appeared to be absolutely clueless as to how Customer service is offered, she almost argued that it wasn’t possible for no one to answer the phone... well I can confirm 100% they didn’t!! And not replying to an email for 4 weeks is absolutely shocking. She actually offered me a £4.00 reduction which was an absolute insult and it was given to charity.
The service and products at Christy’s are no longer superior in any way. Any future purchases of hats or box’s I make will be bought from a professional Milliner. Unfortunately Christy’s is now on par with a high street store. How very sad as once upon a time stores could only aspire to be like Christy’s!!!!

Great products overshadowed by poor customer service.

Christy’s give the impression from their web site that your buying a quality made hat from a traditional hat maker. Revived my cap only to find it’s made in China.
Stop all this misleading marketing bull.
I suspect another company run by bean counters.
Hat returned for refund.
Order a baker boy cap in Late November, received it within 2 weeks, which very fast form my country. Very pleased with the quality of the material and build. Can recommend it!
Horrible experience!
I ordered a hat weeks ago, I never got a conformation mail or any shipping information. After a week I contacted customer service, I was told that the package was delivered 4 days ago. I told them it wasn’t. So they then told me that they would contact the courier, and get back to me. They never did. So I tried to get in touch with them several times afterwards , but they just ghosted me.
Worst and most amateur service I’ve ever had.

I thought I would replace my 20 year old Christy's cap. Found what appeared to be a similar one. When it arrived it was nowhere near the quality I expected, a thin poor quality product and MADE IN CHINA !
Christy's must have long gone in mergers and aquisitions and it is now predominantly an internet retailer operating out of a lock up in Witney but trading on the Christys name selling chinese goods. So sad. To be fair service was good as was returns. I now have a Harris Tweed British made quality product from elsewhere, and cheaper!
