I returned my car which was given to me in poor condition
I returned my car which was given to me dirty, no water in the wiper system and two tires dangerously low in air. I then took the car to ask for safe car. They then told me it was my issue and they would repair the tires at my cost. Finally I gave the car back on the spot and they hit MD with an 1800 € invoice for damage to the rear seats without proof (and was simply not accurate). I will contest this in any way I can. For me fraud which must be reported
DO NOT USE CLICKRENT TO HIRE A CAR…
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO HIRE A CAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. First, they charged us an additional 600 euros to cross the border from Spain to France. Then, we had a windscreen breakage from a stone thrown up on the motorway. ClickRent insisted we bring the car back to them for repair. We had purchased full coverage for our car hire through ClickRent but they did not give us an invoice for the repair so we have been unable to claim from the insurance company. DO NOT USE

6 weeks in and still these payasos havent returned our $2348.80 security deposit!!
Really bad experience in Palma
Really bad experience in Palma. Because our flight was delayed 3 hours, they cancelled the booking and charged in full. They did not let us to pick up the car when we arrived after midnight and we needed to book a car somewhere else.
Double charge due to ClickRent’s mistake – still no refund
ClickRent made an error on my rental contract (wrong return time). The agent cancelled the first booking and told me a refund had been requested. I then had to make a new, more expensive reservation.
After my trip, I discovered that both rentals were charged. Two weeks later, still no refund. Customer service gave me contradictory information, claimed no refund request existed, and even provided a wrong email address, despite the correct one being printed on my contract.
Very poor handling and extremely frustrating experience. Still waiting for my refund.
Its a scam!
Its a scam!! Horrible experience!! Over Christmas I wanted to hire a car and ClickRent was easily the cheapest and had lots of availability (most providers had no cars). Picking-up car is a bit chaotic as most people come from the airport bus, and there is then a scramble to be seen by two advisors. Getting car was super easy, except for the pressure to take on collision damager waiver at 20 Euros per day. Declined waiver as I already had an annual CDW policy in Uk. You are given keys to the car, and told to go to a bay to collect it. There is no paperwork showing you were all the damages and marks are. At the parking bay, the cars are parked closed together (shaded) and not cleaned, making it difficult to a get clear picutres of exsisting damage. When I returned car, the scam kicked-in. They bring out a digital sheet where they say historical marks were, and you then need to show proof that any additional marks were there when you picked-it up. There must have been a note on my file saying I had private collision insurance, as the advisor kept saying, it wasn't a big deal as I could claim the money back. For 1 scratch on the car (that I didnt do) they billed me 500 Euros (said it was 2 minor incidents). If you don't sign the agreemet form, they keep the 1000 Euros deposit, and don't provide you with any paperwork for the insurance - so they know you are screwed! Spanish people and single guys didnt get targeted, but I saw other English families (waiting to go back to UK) singled out for similar treatment. Pls pls pls aviod this firm, there is a reason why they are cheaper than others - they will cheat you of of 100's of Euros!!!!
⚠️ AVOID AT ALL COSTS
⚠️ AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Charged me €725 for damage I didn't do. They handed over a dirty car at night, making it impossible to see pre-existing marks, then blamed me for them later. The first car they gave me was also broken (wipers didn't work). Predatory company.
Worst Car Rental Experience in My Life
I have rented cars all over Ibiza and Europe, but ClickRent has been by far the worst company I have ever dealt with.
Without any valid reason, they deducted €1,600 from my account after a 24-hour rental — simply because I didn’t take their insurance. They claimed there were scratches and stains that I supposedly caused, which is completely impossible. I was the only person who ever sat in the car, no passengers, no damage, nothing. The marks they’re referring to were clearly already there when I picked up the vehicle, and I even have videos and photos from the start of the rental proving it.
Because I had an early flight the next morning, their office wasn’t open when I needed to return the car. I paid an extra €55 for the airport drop-off service — following their instructions exactly. The person who later collected the car apparently decided to blame me for all pre-existing damage.
I contacted ClickRent immediately, sent them all the photos and videos, and politely explained everything. They ignored me for six weeks, then replied vaguely, and after that went silent again for another three weeks. I even went to their Ibiza office in person to try to resolve the issue — they promised to email me “within a few days,” but never did.
Now, over two months later, they’re still holding my €1,600 despite all the proof that I’m not responsible for any of the damages.
If you’re considering renting a car in Ibiza: stay far away from ClickRent.
They’re unresponsive, unprofessional, and clearly exploit customers who don’t take their insurance.
Scammers
Scammers! Arrived late at the airport, no pick-up, needed to book another car rental in the midths of the night, no response ever on my mails. Avoid at all cost, all positive reviews are fake, there's no service at all, it’s a blatant scam.
I hope this review is beneficial to…
I hope this review is beneficial to potential consumers as well as the management of the company. my goal is to be as objective as possible.
We initially booked this company last minute through booking.com. I accidentally selected a class of vehicle that we did not actually need. I attempted to immediate cancel, but the cancellation fee was the full cost of the rental. This may, in fairness, be related to booking.com.
Nonetheless, since I had already paid for the vehicle, we attempted to locate the company at Mallorca International. I was eventually directed to an area outside of where the major rental car company is located their vehicles. We then took a 10 minute van ride out to their parking lot.
As soon as I arrived, the experience looked like the Department of motor vehicles for anybody from the United States. To anybody else, I would probably compare it to the waiting room from the original movie Beetlejuice. After picking up a ticket, I waited about 25 minutes for my number to come up. It was notable that some customers were being serviced for practically the entire time I was waiting.
When my number was called, I explained that we would like a different car. The agent told me there would be an upcharge, which was fine. He told me there would be about a 20 or 30 minute wait for the car to be clean or, for another charge, I could have an upgraded vehicle. Having been there for about an hour, I gave in to the gambit.
He initially attempted to charge me a young driver fee. I explained that I was 49 years old and had a drivers license for 33 years. If anything, he should’ve been contemplating the senior citizen discount. He then asked if I wanted to buy insurance or put down a €2000 deposit. I explained that I purchased insurance through booking.com and he told me that was only for excess. I declined the double Insurance for obvious reasons and explained that it was deceptive that I could buy insurance that would somehow not cover what I needed it for.
He pleasantly grinned and acknowledge that I was both clearly not a young driver and double Insurance didn’t make sense. However, there was nothing he could do, per his words, and I allowed them to make a €2000 deposit.
I was told to walk outside and inspect the car. Nobody came with me. In the glaring sun, I could take limited quality photographs of the car. In fairness, I could not take any photographs of the roof due to the reflection.
We had an uneventful day and came to return the car. The return agent immediately launched into an inspection a drill sergeant would be proud of. He claimed that there was a dent on the roof that clearly developed after the car was rented. I informed him that nothing had happened and they had no evidence that it wasn’t there in advance. I was not provided with the opportunity to actually inspect the car in an environment that would’ve allowed me to identify this debt.
He then claimed that perhaps somebody got drunk and jumped on the car. I agree that perhaps my five-year-old son left the hotel room and decided to wreak havoc. My sarcasm and mounting frustration were met by object, indifference and ongoing accusations.
In order to not miss our flight, we simply walk out of the establishment. In my mind, this company was deceptive from the onset. Whether or not this is intentional, it is absolutely wrong. In United States, this would be actionable, and I’m not aware of what the rules are in the EU. However, I would hope they offer reasonable consumer protection under these dishonest and deceptive trade practices.
If you read to the end, I’m impressed! This is exactly how everything happened.
Absolutely terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience, car contained a dent which was not reported on paperwork which I would have been charged for. On return they found a small scuff of milimetres on the wing mirror officious employee to delight in saying I had damaged the car. These are underhand bad business practices, avoud using this company at all costs, horrible experience.
Rented a car from Barcelona airport
Rented a car from Barcelona airport. Only let the driver into the office. I was given out to a few times for entering office (credit card in my name so had to enter). Look out for the very friendly security man with a batton he is so rude. Kept saying I only speak Spanish, shouting and roaring. Arrived 3 hours late and car not ready had to wait.
When leaving car back gave it a serious look using a torch from phone. Have rented in loads of cities before and we were worried they would find something microscopic but all OK. Lads looking after cars friendly. Also hard to find/ where to go to drop and collect car.
DO NOT USE THIS COMAPNY!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMAPNY!!!!!!!!!
Barcelona Airport branch (need a shuttle to get there):
Car had flat tyres and was short on oil when I took it out. I pumped the tyres up after driving around 100 miles (pretty dangerous) and got a receipt for the oil I had to put in the car so as not to seize the engine. I returned the vehicle and they offered to refund the cost of the oil but they would contact me and not refund it there and then, I was fine with that however this is when the scam started:
Instead of boring you with months of email correspondence...
ClickRent tried over serveral months to get me to give them the type of personal details that you would never hand over unless someone was trying to empty your bank account. Long story short...my bank looked at the email correspondence (over 6 months worth) and warned me that this was a scam of the highest order. After sending them what they needed to perform a basic deposit, many times, with guidance from my bank, I cut my losses and decided to warn the public instead.
Once they realized they were not getting what they wanted out of me the email correspondence from their side went quiet. I even raised a complaint to 'bookings @ clickrent.es' with the full email correspondence and have had no response.
DONT SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU! There are many other companies to use.
Charged me 500 EUR for a minuscule…
Charged me 500 EUR for a minuscule scratch without motivating the amount. Reacted very late to my objections and requested motivation for high amount. No one went through the actual state of the car at pick-up. Thus in the dark (pick-up time) I did not see the minor scratch. Watch out with these thieves. This practice is clearly part of their business plan.
DO NOT USE THEY ARE FRAUDSTERS
I rented a car at Malaga airport and waited 3 hours to collect the car. They wanted to charge me 1000 euros on top of what I had already paid and said this was for insurance. I had already paid for extra insurance when I rented the car through rental cars. I agreed I would pay 300 euros as a deposit for damage and insurance.
As I had waited 3 hours I did not thoroughly check the car as I was so fed up. I did however notice a cigarette burn in one of the seats. The next morning I drove back to the airport to show the rental company but was met by a rude and aggressive woman who said she did not have time to look. I suspect they have charged customers over and over again for this burn. This is the car involved so please be aware if you are hired this car by them. MAZDA 2 1.5 E-SKYACTIV 116CV VVT-I PURE Reg 5227 MLN
I have tried contacting them to complain whilst I was there and now I have returned home but they just ignore me. As you can imagine I have lost 300 euros but I have read customers have been charged a lot more for damage they have not done or that was already there. While I was in Malaga and still using the car I was contacted by someone claiming to be from this company offering me my money back but this was a scam and they tried to obtain my bank details so I believe someone in the office is passing on customer details when they complain. Do not accept any calls from Kenya. They know everything about the complaint and are very convincing!
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMAPNY THEY ARE FRAUDSTERS
Hired a car for a week at Alicante…
Hired a car for a week at Alicante airport, but 40 minutes into the journey the tyre light came on and so i went to the garage and added air. Got to my destination 2 hours away from the airport. The tyre seemed fine on checking and so the next morning the tyre was flat so i had to call the rental company.
Road assistant was sent and a restricted spare was put on. The road assistant guy showed us the damage on the alloy wheel in side the rim and it was bent outward so that air was escaping. This car was given to us like this and on returning the car to get a replacement we complained. There is no way we had caused the damage but they said they would get their mechanic to check.(joke) 1 month later received bill for roadside assistance even though it was not our fault and we had no choice but to call them.
Do not use this company they are. scammers .
Would give zero stars if possible
Would give zero stars if possible. Rented car in Madrid. Total scam charging is 825 euros for a small stone chip that was there when we rented picked up the vehicle. Avoid or they will charge you for damages that you weren’t responsible for. Also reported portal CRC consume gob es
I absolutely recommend avoiding this…
I absolutely recommend avoiding this company.
I did not expect that in the EU country that could be such a hidden clause concerning the conditions of full insurance which would result in customers being misled. With full insurance in no excess option , I had to pay €453 for a punctured tyre being in the city ( not somwhere on the road ). I can imagine that it is the cost of a full set of new tyres. Quite a bitter experience. I recommend that you carefully read the contract, even with full insurance with no excess option, and avoid this company.
