Scam

I bought a book and was automatically enrolled in a subscription WITHOUT clear notice. I only realized it when I was charged. On top of that, my book has NOT arrived after more than 30 days. Very disappointing experience and lack of transparency.

Avoid at all cost

Avoid at all cost, this is a scam.
They never reply. Books never arrived, now they are charging me for a "community access" and no reply to my emails.

I did not reorder, but they charged me for another book

I ordered and received 2 books about a week ago. It took long enough and no tracking updates, but I did get them. I couldn't comment on those, they seem ok but haven't had the time to check them out.

After all this time, today I got a charge at my credit card and a "confirmed" purchase for another book which I did not buy or even had seen on their site. It is clearly a scam, since there is no cancelation option or any kind of support. I don't know if they'll ever ship it but it worries me that they already have my credit card on file and could charge me whenever for whatever.

DO NOT BUY HERE! IT TAKES A LONG WHILE TO GET THE GOODS AND THEY WILL INVENT PURCHASES!

Avoid at all cost this company!

Avoid at all cost this company!

I bought 5 books on Nov 17th (order #774730), no updates for 2 weeks, then they where "shipped" on Dec 3rd and since then no update, no tracking information, no responses to the emails.

I already sent an email requesting the refund, but guess what... no answer from them.

Please save time, energy and money and avoid this company.

Extremely Disappointed – No Delivery, No Response

I placed an order with CollectiveBooks on November 30th and still haven’t received the book.

The tracking number provided shows no information at all, and when I contacted customer service I never got a reply.

This was supposed to be a Christmas gift, and the complete lack of communication is unacceptable. If the company cannot fulfill orders, they should at least inform customers or process refunds promptly.

I will escalate this issue to the relevant consumer protection authorities and share my experience widely if this is not resolved immediately.

My advice: do NOT buy from this store. Poor service, zero transparency, and no respect for customers.

Finally got my books today

Finally got my books today. Very happy with products. Would get 5 stars if it was not for delivery procedure...

Post order, I received a confirmation number and a tracking number that looked like a scam because not referring to an existing package for longer than a week ! An inquiriy mail was duely answered by client assistance service within a few hours.
Everything happened according to mail answer.

Bulk expedition is a business choice but it has consequences on client's trust. (It just happened again to me with a different company)

Thanks for the books !

This is a scam – no delivery, no proper customer support

I placed an order on November 30th (Order #866150) and it is still not delivered.
The tracking has been stuck for days saying that the parcel has not been handed over to the carrier, despite the company claiming it is “in transit”.

I contacted customer service multiple times by email.
They replied once with generic explanations, then completely stopped responding, even after clear follow-ups. No proof of shipment, no clear delivery date, nothing.

This was supposed to be a birthday gift, and their own delivery terms clearly state deadlines that are no longer respected.

At this point, I am requesting a full refund, as I have received neither my order nor reliable information.
Based on my experience and the many similar negative reviews here, this company does not seem trustworthy.

I strongly advise future customers to be very careful before ordering.

Hello Kenza,

Thank you for your message, and we truly understand your frustration especially since this order was intended as a birthday gift.

First, we want to be very clear: this situation is exceptional.
Every month, thousands of books are successfully printed and delivered, and as you can see in many other reviews here, the vast majority of our customers receive their orders and are fully satisfied with the quality and the experience in our company.

Unfortunately, your order #866150, placed on November 30th, was impacted by an end-of-year logistics disruption. During this period, we experienced an unexpected surge in demand, which required urgent reprints and caused delays in some handovers to carriers. When a parcel has not yet been scanned by the carrier, the tracking can remain “stuck” even though the shipment process has started. We understand how confusing and frustrating this is.

Regarding customer service, we sincerely apologize if the follow-up felt insufficient. Due to the very high number of requests during this period, some responses took longer than usual but no request is intentionally ignored.

At this stage, your request for a full refund is completely legitimate.
Please contact us again at contact@collectivebooks.co
with your order number and explicitly confirm that you wish to receive a refund, and we will process it promptly.

We regret that this exceptional delay affected your experience and your gift plans.
This situation does not reflect our usual standards, nor the experience of the vast majority of our customers.

Thank you for your patience,
— Collective Books Co.

I ordered on the 10th of November 5…

Update:
After the review on trust Pilot, the customer service was more responsive and I was able to get the books delivered in France. They did reimbursed my order from Belgium and I had to order again on their website and this time the delivery was within a week. So I'll never know who messed up, but I'm glad to have finally received my order!

I ordered on the 10th of November 5 books (order #855617).
It has stopped evolving since the 23rd November. I've contacted customer service but they are saying that their logistic hub confirmed that the package was taken in charge by Bpost. I called Bpost twice and each time they confirmed me that Bpost never had a hold on the package because it wasn't scanned in their system. At this point I'd just like to know where my package really is or get a new order shipped in France, because I ordered 45 days before Christmas and I'm gong to come empty handed given the information I have.
Customer service does answer but it takes a while, and lastly it's been more than 4 days since I got an answer, following my call with Bpost.
I love the concept but the shipping is really bad

Hello Marie,

Thank you for your detailed message, and I’m truly sorry for the stress and disappointment this situation has caused especially after ordering well in advance for Christmas.

You are absolutely right to be frustrated. When a carrier confirms that a parcel was never scanned, it means there has been a logistical breakdown, and you should not be left stuck between us and the carrier.

What happened:

Your order was marked as handed over to the carrier during a period of very high end-of-year volume, and in some cases parcels were prepared and dispatched but not properly scanned when entering the carrier’s network. When this happens, the tracking unfortunately freezes and the carrier cannot see the parcel in their system even though it physically left our logistics hub.

This is not acceptable, and we fully acknowledge the inconvenience.

What we will do now:

You should not risk arriving empty-handed.

Please contact us again at contact@collectivebooksco.com
, mentioning this message and your order #855617, and we will immediately offer you one of the following options:

📦 A new shipment sent to France with priority handling, or
💰 A full refund, if you prefer not to wait any longer

No further waiting, no back-and-forth with Bpost required, we will take responsibility and handle this directly.

About customer service delays

You are correct: our team has been answering, but response times have been longer than usual due to the very high number of requests during this period. That said, going 4 days without an answer after your last update is not normal, and we apologize for that.

We’re really grateful that you still appreciate the concept, and we’re sincerely sorry that shipping issues overshadowed your experience.
We will make sure you are not left without a solution.

DO NOT BUY. ITS A SCAM

A month ago (November 10) I ordered 2 books that supposedly deliver in 2 weeks. On November 26 I got an email from “uniuni.com” tracking website that never showed the tracking information. I got in contact with someone from Collective Books and all the time they are telling me that for sure I will get my books on time.
I got them another “link” to track my parcel, this time is “track17” and says “error” and again no information.
I saw many comments from people saying the same experience and writing that this company must be scamming people and they are deleting this messages from their social media.

With my bank account I processed a refund but now I have no answer.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. You will never get your books. IT IS A
SCAM.

Hello Sylvia,

Thank you for taking the time to share your message, and I genuinely understand why you are upset. What you describe is extremely frustrating, and I want to clarify the situation with full transparency.

✅ 1. Your order is not a scam

Collective Books is a real, registered company, and thousands of customers receive their books every week.
Your case, like a small number of others, was affected by a massive unexpected surge of orders in November, which forced us to reprint thousands of books urgently. This caused:

delays in production

tracking numbers that updated incorrectly or showed “error”

carriers not scanning parcels on time

This does not mean the parcel doesn’t exist — only that the tracking provider has not updated the scan.

✅ 2. The UniUni and Track17 links

These tracking systems sometimes show “error” when the carrier hasn't scanned the parcel yet, especially during peak season. This issue affected many customers and we are already switching providers because of it.

✅ 3. We do not delete negative comments

Instagram automatically hides comments containing words like “scam”, “fraud”, etc, this is done by Instagram’s algorithm, not by us.
We never delete genuine customer feedback.

✅ 4. About your refund request

If you processed a chargeback with your bank, the case now sits with your bank and our payment processor.
This means we cannot refund you manually until the bank finishes their investigation.

But please rest assured:
you will either receive your books or your refund — 100%, guaranteed. You will not lose your money.

✅ 5. What we will do now

Please email us at contact@collectivebooks.co
with your order number so we can:

check the correct tracking internally, resend your order with priority shipping, or let your bank continue the refund process, whichever you prefer.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced.
This situation is not representative of how we operate, and we are taking major steps to prevent these tracking issues from happening again.

We will resolve this for you, you will not be left without books or a refund.

Lost parcel, no help

I bought 4 notebooks more than one month before Christmas. The tracking number said "error". I contacted the customer service to know where is my parcel. They said the parcel has been delivered the 5th of December and i have to do a reclamation to the transportation company.
I have a wrong tracking nb, no transportation contact and i am going on holidays to see my family tomorrow and i don t have the present. Very unhappy.

Hello,

Thank you for your message, and I’m truly sorry for this very frustrating situation, especially right before the holidays.

First, I want to clarify that what you are describing is not normal, and you should not have been left with an incorrect tracking number or without support from us.

✅ What likely happened

This December, we faced an exceptionally high volume of Christmas orders and, in some cases, we had to reprint and resend parcels urgently. This caused tracking links to update incorrectly or display errors for certain customers — including you.
We sincerely apologize for this.

✅ About the “delivered” status

If your tracking shows “delivered” but you never received anything, it usually means the carrier made a scanning mistake or that the parcel is still in transit and the status updated too early.

You should not have to contact the transport company alone, we will handle this for you.

✅ What we will do today

Please send us your order number again at contact@collectivebooks.co

We will immediately:

verify the correct tracking information,
file the claim with the carrier ourselves,

and offer you a priority reshipment or a full refund, whichever you prefer.

We absolutely understand how disappointing this is when these notebooks were meant to be Christmas gifts, and you are leaving to see your family tomorrow.

You will not be left without a solution.

Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience we will take care of this urgently.
