The Mortgage Program for Costco Members 

The mortgage was a really good service that helped solve my sudden shortage of funds and the service was very considerate, all my problems were solved, it was great!

The Mortgage Program is another valuable benefit of being a Costco member. You know that the participants meet Costco’s high standards and legendary customer service. I was connected with an amazing lender (nbkc bank), who in turn connected me with a fantastic realtor and other professionals. We entered a very difficult housing market for buyers and I am so grateful I started with the Mortgage Program. We close on our dream home this month!

Great program with great rates and savings on fees

Excellent experience all around. My lender (Lending.com) was responsive, helpful, and informative. And the rate and closing costs were better than any I found anywhere. Would do this again in a heart beat.

A very good program for home buyers. I like Costco anyway, so applying for an executive membership with Costco was a big bonus for me with helping me with my loan.

Great job of initial guest service but communication with bank was spotty.

I had a great experience from beginning to closing. I received 3 quotes, went with Northwest Savings Bank and was closed in a month. I could not be more pleased that I saved money, time, and received great service.

Meh review of Mortgage Program

Multiple issues using ConsumerDirect Mortgage who uses FirstBank Mortgage. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend. I closed on 09/24/2021. I've had to follow up and call back vendors multiple times. This service is not easy. You get what you pay for I guess. I'm not happy having to continually reach out to get these issues resolved. I've financed and refinanced multiple times with Quicken Loans, and have NEVER had to reach out 1/10th as much as this vendor. I went with this, due to closing costs being only $500. Big mistake! You better believe I'll be using Quicken from now on.

I received attitude through email with a Closer. She messed up the original payoff dollar amount, and would not update it. Nine emails later, the Loan officer got involved, and seemed to resolve the issue.

I received my first statement letter with the loan information on it. However it was addressed to "John Q Borrower1" at my address. (My name is James) Luckily my wife didn't toss it, as it appeared to be spam mail.

I have two parcels of land. Both parcels of land were listed in the closing documents. However, only one of the parcels taxes were paid for. It turned out to be an issue with the closing. They paid it, without payment from me. I'm appreciative of that, yet it was nearly late without me following up. They had to overnight the check to make it on-time.

Taxes have been continually messed up from that point on, due to second parcel issue. I have called multiple times to have amounts fixed. I keep being told they are taken care of. But when I check a month later, they still aren't fixed. It is now 4/8/2022, and they are still not fixed. My taxes are due by the end of this month. My payment shows that its going to be short for paying my taxes by ~$100 between the two parcels. I'm being told they will be fixed by 4/12/2022. You better believe I'll be on the phone on 4/13/2022 to verify its fixed.

Update: Taxes were fixed, and adjusted. Changed review from 1 star to 3 stars.

I don't think we received the lower closing closing costs promised in the program

I happened upon an ad for the Costco Mortgage program while I was looking up other lenders and I'm so glad I did. After submitting the inquiry on Costco's website I received three calls/emails from lenders, one of which was Real Genius, who we opted to use. The Costco program discounts the fees from the lender making the loan costs significantly less than other lenders. The team at Real Genius did an absolutely amazing job. I've done multiple loans in the past and by far this was the best experience I've had. The rate was fantastic, we closed in about 2 weeks from initial application...I know every experience might not be like that but I'm beyond impressed.

Richard Parker and Blythe Dunham were fantastic! They are very professional, understanding and patient. We would not be in our dream home without them!

The Costco Mortgage Program referred me to lender who took very good care of my needs. The process was honest and straightforward.
The program also saved me thousand of dollars in closing costs.
