PUT A CHARGE ON HIS HOUSE of what would appear to be…

I am one of what would appear to be dozens of peopled who have been conned out of thousands of pounds.
HIES is useless and guarantees nothing.
It is possible to put a charge on this fraudsters home via a solicitor. If enough of us do this it would cause him problems.

Complete fraudster

Complete fraudster, gloating with taking customers money and spending it on a family holiday to Disneyland Florida.

The funds that should have been hive insured weren't and instead pocketed right into David's hands. David has made no effort to make anything right and months down the line we have nothing to show for it apart from the snaps from David's family holiday when we cant even afford to take our family to our own caravan for a summer holiday this year.

Check out the facebook group - daylight energy ltd ripped off customers - there's more information on where our money has gone and there's messages from those who know him personally so I'm sure they will answer any questions you may have!

Fraud Investigation needs to step up a gear, his house, his multiple of cars and motorbike all no doubt paid for by customers deposit money. His still working in the Solar Industry, when he should be struck off and in prison, this man really has no shame and its our job to make sure he doesn't work in our area Poole/Bournemouth again. Imagine having him as a role model for your children. I can only imagine how proud his family are! absolute criminal

I’m sorry to see any buisness struggle and fold. But this guy was at the top of his game when I worked for him. Articulate, polite and honest to a fault.
We’re all to quick to judge and condemn, I hope the funds were hive insured, if not then j truly believe this fella will do his best to make it right.

problem with air source system, and now they’ve gone bust!

We had our air source heat pump system installed in 2019. All monies were paid, installation happened and that was fine. Over the period since the system has been installed we have had a couple of occasions to contact daylight energy and I would say that their after sales service is shocking. Fast forward to June 2023 and the system is not working at all and when we reach out to get it looked at by them we received no response, that was by email, telephone, and WhatsApp message. After doing a bit of research on companies house, I find that they are now in liquidation and I have no clue whether the system has any warranty or who to contact to find out.

Absolutely terrible company, stole my deposit when I was assured by David Owen this was held in a separate account. I did have HIES insurance but that was wasn’t worth the paper it’s written on….

I have almost lost all hope for…

I have almost lost all hope for renewables after dealing with Daylight energy but a friend of mine had recommended Solum GB they were fabulous! Most importantly the first thing I’ve done was paid the deposit by credit card but regardless of that they have registered the money with HIES and I knew that I’m protected ! I really think I got my monies worth with the equipment installed not to mention the neatness and smooth process of installation. Anyway this is not a place to leave them a review but if anyone is still looking to get what they originally wanted there are still good people out there!

Daylight Energy steeling deposits

We had signed a contract with them in mid November and paid a £2850 deposit, waiting for DNO notice before Installation, planned end of February. Found out 2nd week February, by a friend telling me they had ceased trading. I had paid by Credit card so we were fully reimbursed.
They were taking deposits knowing they were going into liquidation, that's despicable.
I did find another company SMART HOME TECHNOLIGY Ltd in Verwood who could supply a similar system with a larger Battery for around the same cost. They did not push, got our quote and left to decide and any question contact them. We did a couple of times ask questions, all were answered. They fitted our system within 10 days, it took 1 day to install and carried out a Great job.

Day Light Energy are biggest thieves…

Day Light Energy are biggest thieves possible.
I placed an order with them for Q-cell solar panels and Solax Hybrid inverter, they installed cheaper panels and cheaper inverter. They issued all the warranty paper as per my order. I only found the truth when I had another provider in to give me quote for the battery. They are better gone out of business and I feel sorry for the people who lost money to them like me.

I also have been ripped off …

I also have been ripped off from Daylight energy ltd for thousands of pounds, but mine was for an air source heat pump. I've contacted the insolvency services (0300 678 0015) and gave them Daylight energy ltd trading no 9279283, and they told me that according to company house they are still active but recommended to follow the company's activity when on the company's house site and just press the follow button and when any changes happen you will be notified. I hope we all get our money back.

Has gone into liquidation with £2000 +…

Has gone into liquidation with £2500 + of our deposit money. Because I paid the deposit in September 2022 I now fall outside of the 120 days insurance cover offered by HIES deposit protection scheme. This company and its directors knew exactly what they were doing - taking peoples deposit monies and using excuse after excuse as to why there were delays in installation- with absolutely no intention of ever fitting them. I’ve followed others advice and reported the matter to the Action Fraud Team. Please do the same and let’s get the perpetrators prosecuted!

Daylight Energy - Daylight Robbery

Why would a company knowingly sign you up for solar panels, take your deposit knowing full well a few months down the line they would be unable to carry out the work, my partner has lost his £2000 deposit he paid in December, money he has worked hard for - my question is where has all the deposit money gone!

Expect Deposit Lost…

Like many on here paid a deposit in December, heard nothing so tried to contact them this week only to get email saying they were in liquidation and no longer trading. Spoke to the insurance people who say they will not pay anything out until Companies House says they are in Liquidation. If not done within 120 days of the policy starting it will be lapsed and will be unable to claim back.

Have now spoke with my Credit Card Company to try and get it back through them.

More disappointed with the deposit insurance Company as they are not interested in paying out.

Saved by Fortuna

After losing my deposit money to Daylight, I began to lose faith in ever installing my solar. Until my neighbour recommended me to Fortuna. I called them, and they were very sympathetic; they gave me a great price and even squeezed me in for a quick install. All their guys were great, very polite and professional. My installation was all done in less than 2 weeks. So, if you are in a position like me, maybe check these guys out and see if they can also do a deal for you.

Liquidators not yet appointed

at 0900 on 6 April 2023 the liquidators noted here - Verulam Advisory - have not yet formally been appointed as liquidators. They are in discussion with the Directors of Daylight Energy. You can register info with Verulam, but not much point at this stage. If they are formally appointed they will be contacting all creditors in due course.

Now in liquidation. I too had an email from Solar Service, and on contacting them they have advised that the liquidator is Verulam Advisory, tel 01202 941475, email info at verulamadvisory.co.uk. I have emailed them to confirm, but no reply as yet. Lets hope they can act to return at least some part of the deposits owed.

Avoid at all costs!

Like many others on here, paid deposit back in November, given bull about installation dates and although company website is still up and running, phone lines are not maned. Deposit insurance timescale lapsed. Some people say DNO permission granted but no evidence! Others, deposits not registered with deposit protection scheme.. Complete fraud and theft of our money. Companies House as at today showing no sign of liquidation or receivership.. BE WARNED AVOID AT ALL COST... CRIMINALS...

Deposit Lost & Not Protected

Like others, deposit taken then everything seemed fine with DNO approval given and then everything went silent.

Thought my deposit was protected by HIES only to discover that whole scheme is pretty much a sham and provides consumers with next to no protection.

I would suggest everyone reviewing here also leave a review of HIES so that others don’t fall into the same trap as we have.
