So glad we called our bank

Should of had our panel fitted about end of Jan but 4 months later still waiting for DNO, Contacted HIES yesterday and all they done was add our name to the spreed sheet list so I contacted our bank as we payed by card and they refunded our money so we are one of the lucky ones, The rep Darren was great so we have no issue with him as he still answered his phone to me and put me in the picture about them all being sacked in Jan/Feb, So glad we only paid a deposit.

Daylight Robbery

I was recommended them through a neighbour, now we are both stuck. The sales person was all good too, just since then everything has been impossibly slow and now I see why. Hoping we can prove the company is going into administration so it’s easier to claim back deposits etc for everyone.

Another Victim of Fraud

I've just found out that I am also another victim. I paid my deposit in September 2022 and was promised installation in January, which then slipped to February and now I find out that the company has made all the employees redundant. Please include me in any small claims action.

I paid a deposit of 1208.62 for a 5.2 storage battery & new inverter to add to my existing solar panels in Aug 2022 after contacting daylight energy numerous times via phone & email they finally gave me an installation date (March 1st) that was in January, I have tried to contact them since about misinformation they gave me regarding the storage battery. I have not received any replies, the installation date has passed, after reading this site I have concluded they have taken my money without supplying goods & services, I reported Daylight energy to my bank, they have refunded my deposit under their fraud protection scheme.

Another victim who has paid deposit

Similar experience to others who have posted. I paid a deposit by bank transfer in early September 2022 for panels and battery, due to be installed on Tuesday 7th March, but I now understand why there has been no confirmation of installation. I would be interested in participating in any group action against the company, although it's not something I have any previous experience of, luckily.

Join the queue :(

The website for this company is still up, and the phone line is live (although not being answered), so it does not appear to be in administration ... yet.

If you are owed money that was paid by credit card, then you should be able to claim back via your credit card issuer, but if bank transfer, whilst it will be a good idea to have a small claims action filed, you will have to stand in the queue with everyone else.

Also an idea to lodge a complaint with Companies House about the actions of this company and in particular David Humphriss. If and when a receiver is appointed, people will also have a chance to register their grievance and hopefully prevent this fraudulent activity happening again in the future.

Information regarding David Andrew Humphriss

Apparently David Humphriss has taken issue wth my posting of how you migt get hold of him! Feel free to reach out to me if anyone would like that information so that they can pursue claims and legal redress for the monies that are owed to so many people by this firm. According to Companies House his new company is Plus One Room Ltd. registered company no 14185688.

We have filed an N1 in the Small Claims Court.

You all need to lodge claims with the administrator if this firm goes into or is in administration. All creditors will need to be in agreement to seek redress that David is struck off as a company director, to prevent this type of behaviour reoccuring.

Daylight Robbery

I paid over £5K deposit for solar panels, battery and heat pump last September and have received nothing other than vague promises. Heat pump cancelled about 3 weeks ago, still no refund. Paid by bank transfer. What can one do to retrieve any of the money?

Just visited the unit where Daylight…

Just visited the unit where Daylight Energy were operating from. Apparently people from DE have been seen entering the premises but the heavies turned up and that has frightened them off. They still have equipment on site so will need to go back sometime but without any type of surveillance it is going to be very hit and miss whether anyone can actually catch them! There are no notices of going into administration anywhere.

I paid over 2k deposit in September…

I paid over 2k deposit in September 2022 and was strung along since then by Daylight Energy with excuses as to why they had no installation date for me. I paid by bank transfer so no leg to stand on. I have no idea what the process is now. Companies House still shows them as active. Lots of questions on here but no ability to discuss the way forward. I can't figure out how to join the WhatsApp group set up but there is a Facebook page. Nothing particularl helpful on there so far. Gutted!

Ordered last May

Ordered last May, a dreadful experience , everything went wrong, lied to all the time, in the end I am left with a hotch potch of an installation, stuff he had lying around in the warehouse , nothing ordered as per the surveyers order. wrong battery and the rest all different makes so the warranty cannot be registered, one part already broken down I was lucky he replaced it. How long before the next breakdown ? As all different makes the Solax app will not work to show me what is going on. So many missed appointments by workmen, Scaffolders broke my roof tiles , water leaking in everywhere. If you never let them start on an installation count yourselves lucky, hopefully if paid by card you will get your deposits back. I am left with no paperwork so cannot register with a power company to export my excess power. I do not think I will ever get the 'Hand over pack' now. Cannot understand how a company selling solar panels is going bust when so many customers looking for installations now. They should be overrun with orders. Must be gross mismanagement perhaps something to do with the new company that was started last summer, according to another post I read. I am 80 years old this stress has nearly finished me off.

Like many on here I have paid a deposit…

Like many on here I have paid a deposit which appears to have been spirited away with no recourse to the Company. The so called guarantee was for 120 days but only seems to kick in as a last resort if the Company ceases to trade. Companies house has, as yet, no mention of this and it may be the Director is intending for it to wither on the vine and only be struck off when final accounts are not registered. If you paid by credit card you will need to contact your Card Company quoting section 75 of the CCA whilst at the same time requesting your money back from the Company. Hopefully the Company who set up the card operations will have personal recourse to the Director if he can be traced. If your Bank refuses to pay under section 75 then you can refer to the Financial Ombudsman. If you paid by debit card, cheque or direct payment then your options are limited. I see David Humphriss was involved in a previous company that went bust, Solar Fusion Ltd, owing thousands to HMRC and creditors.

Paid a deposit of £2,186 last October by debit card. Can’t get in touch with the company. Work not done. Have been in touch with bank, debit card disputes. They have refunded me until investigations have been made. I’d urge all to get in touch with their bank.

Useless

Not surprised at if this company has gone under. Had my install a few years ago so not out of pocket (feel for everyone who is, there seems to be a lot who are), but even back then basically had to do all the chasing up. Had to sort my own DNO cert etc. Needed a replacement inverter, after 6 mths trying to get them to sort, took me only 1 mth to get one sent direct from Solax. Broken optimiser this time, they have it, guess I won't be seeing that anytime soon.

Hi All

Hi All

I’m financially down to this company. What can I do to claim the monies back? I paid by Visa in December. Do I contact Visa or my bank? Can we form a group? I’ve no legal experience or knowledge of how this can be tackled and not great at letter writing. Any help appreciated. I’m gutted and feel that the sales guy who came to my house in December must have had an inkling as to what was going on behind the scenes also and surely the employees on the phones also… are they not culpable in some way of swindling money?
