Dr Faheem was Massively helpfull

Dr Faheem was Massively helpfull, clear & concise. With the practice itself I knew what was happening at every step of each appointment, all of my questions were answered and all of my concerns put to rest. If you're looking into neurodivergant assessments that I was referred for it's a 10/10 recommendation.

Complaint Escalation Underway to NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board & The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman

My experience with Dr J and Colleagues has been deeply concerning, mirroring other negative reviews here. The most alarming issue? My diagnostic report contained explicit details of self-harm - completely unrelated to me - indicating it was likely copied from another patient’s report.

Lack of Care & Professionalism

1. I spent days completing the pre-assessment questionnaire, yet it was not properly sent to my clinician. Instead of postponing the session to review my information properly, he rushed me through the entire process, putting me under pressure to re-answer everything.
2. The consultation felt like a conveyor belt process - the clinician made no effort to put me at ease.
3. Post-diagnosis, my report took weeks to arrive and contained serious inaccuracies, including incorrect medical history.

Unacceptable Communication Delays

4. After flagging errors in my report, I waited six weeks for a response - only to be told the clinician couldn’t even see my feedback.
5. Every response has taken an average of six weeks, leaving me in limbo.
6. My last email on 28 January 2025 reiterated my concerns, yet I have still not received a meaningful response.

Escalating the Complaint

I am now in the process of escalating my concerns to:
• NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board
• The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman
• Public review sites like this site

Recent media coverage has exposed how some providers are monopolising on the rise in ADHD diagnoses at the expense of patient care - a reality I now, unfortunately, have firsthand experience with.

I strongly advise against using this service due to serious concerns regarding patient care, accuracy, and communication.

Amazing!

I had all my appointments with Marylyn and I cannot thank her enough. A lovely woman to talk to and she made me feel at ease when I felt at my most vulnerable. She not only listened to me but she made me feel heard. She has a genuine level of care that was evident with every meeting and I’m so grateful to have had her.

All over the place, wouldn’t recommend

Unfortunately my experience with these haven’t been the best. Don’t get me wrong the doctor himself is lovely, but here’s my experience. So firstly I had a text to say an appointment has been booked for me and all the details are in an email, but I didn’t have an email, after ringing up reception I found out they had the wrong email on system for me (I’ve never even heard of the one they had on system for me so I don’t know where they got that from) on the actual appointment I sat on teams for over an hour and no-one showed. This was then rescheduled, I did the rescheduled appointment where I was diagnosed with ADHD and I was told it would be 6 weeks for a report to be sent to my GP and 4 months for treatment. After waiting 6 weeks and no report was sent to my GP I rang them up who said an appointment has been set up to discuss this. So when I went to this appointment it was like a diagnosis appointment all over again, it was the same doctor but it was as if he forgotten about the first appointment where he diagnosed me? He went through some of my questionnaire answers again and told me again “get a pen and paper and write this down, today I have been officially diagnosed with ADHD” (this was the exact same thing he told me to do on the first appointment) then he told me again 6 weeks for report 4months for treatment. I just couldn’t believe it. We are now nearly 5 months after diagnosis and my GP still hasn’t got a report and I still have no treatment in sight. The whole reason I chose this place under right to choose was because I thought it would be a quicker process but I actually think I probably should of stayed on the NHS waiting list, I would probably be on treatment by now. I’m shocked to see so many good reviews maybe I’ve just had back luck and I’m a one off, but my experience hasn’t been great to say the least. If your going to go down the right to choose path I wouldn’t recommend using this place, choose somewhere else is my advice.

Marylyn Nathan-Wilson and drsj are amazing!

So to start off, the right to choose function from the NHS and drsj may have changed my life forever (in a good way).

The ADHD diagnosis process was straight forward and a lot smoother than I expected, within 3 months (NHS quoted me 24 months to just get seen...) I was diagnosed and a titration appointment booked. I was assigned Marylyn who is amazing, we started off the medication slow and with the type of medication I wanted. (Instant over slow release because of bad recommendation from my friend) Within a few appointments we were on the right track and I was switched over to slow release (or extended release).

Marylyn helped me every step of the way and was extremely caring which is nice, asking about my day/how I have been etc and was an absolute pleasure to speak to. All in all, the experience for me was life changing! This time 6+ months ago I was fighting with NHS / my GP to get them to diagnosis me and now I am fully diagnosed and being signed off as stable!

Regards
JB

Life-Changing Support from Marylyn Nathan-Wilson

My journey with Dr J & Colleagues has been a truly transformative experience, and I feel compelled to share how much of a positive impact my prescriber, Marylyn Nathan-Wilson, has had on me.

After receiving my ADHD diagnosis—much earlier than I had expected compared to other diagnosing entities—I entered titration feeling both hopeful and uncertain. My first appointment with Marylyn immediately put me at ease. She listened attentively to my concerns, made me feel comfortable, and helped me feel confident about the process. Her expertise and care stood out, and I left that first consultation feeling fully supported and optimistic about the path ahead.

However, not long after, I experienced a significant setback when I was pulled out of titration due to funding being withdrawn by my ICB (Staffordshire). This was a devastating moment for me. That first appointment with Marylyn had made me realize how crucial her support was and what I stood to lose without it. Knowing what I would miss out on gave me the determination to fight for my funding to be reinstated. After a lot of effort, I managed to get back on track, and I am so grateful I did.

Since returning to titration, Marylyn has consistently provided me with incredible care. She takes the time to listen to everything I have to say, no matter how small it may seem, and ensures that my treatment plan is tailored specifically to my needs. Her thoughtful approach has made what can often be a challenging process feel manageable, even empowering.

Every monthly appointment with Marylyn has been something I’ve genuinely looked forward to, not only because of the progress I’ve made but also because she creates an environment where I feel understood and supported. Her dedication to my well-being has been a key factor in my progress, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am now without her.

Dr J & Colleagues is incredibly fortunate to have someone like Marylyn on their team, but from a patient’s perspective, I feel even luckier to have had her as my prescriber. Her professionalism, care, and commitment to helping me have made all the difference in my ADHD journey.

If you are considering Dr J & Colleagues, I cannot recommend them highly enough, and if Marylyn becomes your prescriber, I can say with absolute confidence that you will be in the best possible hands.

Rushed, impersonal, inaccurate and frankly quite damaging.

Sadly not a positive experience of Dr J.

I went for a privately funded ADHD assessment.

From the outset the communication was brief, not nearly explanatory enough and impersonal.

Once I had booked the assessment and completed the forms I got repeated overly aggressive reminder emails to complete the same forms, for which I had I had to keep checking whether they had been received.

The assessment itself was rushed, painfully so. The resulting report shows that the assessor wasn’t really listening as it contains inaccuracies and misinterpretation of my answers. The agreed course of action on the day was further discussion about treatment options but what was in the diagnostic report received 6 weeks later was that I was to be referred for medication titration. The titration team now wants a further £185 just to speak to me.

Worst of all was that a couple of things I specifically asked to be confidential ended up in the report that would have been sent to my GP had I not intervened.

This rushed, careless and unempathic approach made me feel very much like the main interest for Dr J is financial.

I was left with a positive combined diagnosis and no routes to explore for further support. This was a really big deal for me and I feel quite badly let down.

I’m not sure anyone else is any better, but as a 50 year old coming to this with a lot of life experience, and very specific allied working experience within the NHS, this assessment process could have been really damaging.

I hope someone finds this useful and can perhaps adjust expectations of the process accordingly.

Professional and reassuring professionals! Great service, highly recommend!!

I cannot express enough gratitude for Dr. J and the entire team who have truly transformed my experience in managing my ADHD. After a frustrating and disappointing encounter with another healthcare provider, I was left feeling lost and unsure of where to turn. Thankfully, I was referred to Dr. J and colleagues, who approached my case with the understanding, compassion, and thoroughness that I so desperately needed.

From the moment I met with Dr. J, and Colleagues I felt heard and validated. The use of the DIVA 5.0 diagnostic tool was a game-changer for me. Unlike the more rigid DSM-5 criteria that failed to capture the nuances of my condition, the DIVA 5.0 provided a detailed and realistic assessment that considered my personal experiences and real-life scenarios. This comprehensive approach led to a positive diagnosis, finally giving me the clarity and explanation I needed.

Coming to terms with my ADHD has been a profound relief, and it has brought so much understanding to many aspects of my life. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. J and Colleagues' team for their professionalism, reassurance, and commitment to patient care. They went above and beyond to ensure that I received the right diagnosis and the support I needed to move forward.

Not to forget the mention of the second important role in the process after diagnosis of the Prescribing Pharmacist A.S-K who was another reassuring and informative professional toward me.

I highly recommend Dr. J and colleagues to anyone seeking compassionate and thorough healthcare professionals. Their dedication to truly understanding their patients sets them apart, and I am forever thankful for the positive impact they have already had on my life.
