Good buyer experience

I have been a buyer only since 2008 and have almost 5000 purchases, I use Amazon too.

Not once have I been let down by them when on rare occasions the seller has let me down.

I would add that 5 sales in 17 years were questionable representing only circa 0.1% of sellers\sales I purchased.

I cannot speak for selling, I have never sold anything.

EBay have restricted my account

EBay have restricted my account, on a seller performance excuse ( buyers not turning up or paying)
They also allowed negative feed back from a a buyer after I cancelled an order as it got broken.
They are a joke.
Wish someone would start another site to compete.
Most seller would move.

I use e bay but wish for something better.

I use e bay. I wish there was a viable much better alternative. I live in far West Cornwall where retail business has shrunk to almost nothing and most of things I tend to need means travelling at least 70 miles to Plymouth.
E bays biggest fault is not vetting sellers (chiefly business ebay sellers) to verify their credentials, their actual REAL location and the genuineness of the goods they are selling. I am sick of seeing Made in China with a Union Flag splashed across the listing.
Poor shoddy goods bought in at flea market prices and then flogged on for a whopping mark up. Disgusting practise.
On the Plus side in every dispute ( and sadly there has been quite a few) I use the chat service and the telephone contact to put my case and in every case so far I have had a refund in full. I just will not give up on rogue sellers and I have even managed to get two sellers banned from ebay.
I mourn the decline in the high street retail businesses. I use e bay a lot less then I used to. I have found that buying direct from companies that have established online sales are frequently cheaper than from ebay sellers.

Ebay's new payout doesn't pay

Sold 2 items on Friday and posted them (at my cost)
Tried to withdraw the money on Saturday and the withdraw button was greyed out despite the fact that the payments were confimed as "processed".
Tried on Sunday - still couldn't withdraw my money
Tried on Monday - still couldn't withdraw my money
I noticed the new payout policy says you can use you balance to buy things
So I put 2 things I needed in my basket and guess what...
It told me what my balance was - but the option to pay from my balance was greyed out.
So sellers can't get their money and can't use their money to buy things.
THIS NEW EBAY PAYMENT PROCESS IS JUST AN EXCUSE FOR EBAY TO KEEP YOUR MONEY.

Never had a problem in any direction,Top Company

Never had a problem in any direction with eBay. Had a problem last month with a seller in China, put in a refund request as the items were not as described. Sent 2 emails to the seller, no reply. Contacted eBay about the problem, and within 48 hours I was informed by eBay that I was getting a full refund plus keeping the 2 items.

Let the buyer dodge me

So basically I am a new ebayer and just started selling quality genuine products on EBay. This seller who bought a £112 perfume from me after asking questions and seeing the pics recover the item on Saturday and after 24 hours of receiving the item messaged me accused of selling him a fake item and that it didn’t last 5 minutes. I told him that I had proof and invoice to prove that the item was genuine. As a new buyer who sold 20 items , didn’t have experience to deal with a dodgy buyer who not only opened the sealed perfume and accused me. I spoke to a guy called Mathew on EBay who told me that buyers are protected under eBay policy and even if the buyer is lying , I am obligated to process the refund for him without explaining what rights sellers have and that I would only process the refund once the item is returned to me on an acceptable condition. I was sent a refund email without explaining anything. I was so panicked ( being an honest and nice person) and made the refund assuming that EBay would hold the funds until the buyer returns the item. But when I spoke to EBay team they told me that they couldn’t help as I paid it voluntarily. Just to remind them there was no option to say that if you are refunding the buyer you don’t be getting return. EBay literally refused to help even though I paid on their platform and this should be their responsibility. I made a complaint and in less than 24 hours it was rejected. I spoke to Ruben today who I requested to chase the buyer who isn’t replying to messages as I have been chasing him to process my return. Clearly he is not willing to pay . I request EBay to take the responsibility and chase such individuals until they return the item. It’s stealing so how eBay is accepting this . This buyer should be throughly investigated as all my conversation with him is on the record and he told me that he wanted to return the product.

I advertised a unit on eBay cost of unit £20 , it didn’t sell ,I then received a bill for services rendered,I thought this was a scam so I ignored it, I have since bought some pills/ vitamins, and have not received anything,I payed around £29.98. i have since asked where the product is and I have been blocked from your company ??? . Absolute scam of a company

Absolute scam of a company. Charging £43 to place a listing and its not even sold, just because I apparently have set a minimum price I want to have for my listing. And then their reply is : we have put this fee on the site. Yes you did, in tiny little letters along with 1000 other things. Yes its my own fault for not reading every little rule, but why are you charging people for something that's not sold in the first place. You can have my £43 and I hope you are very happy with it, along with other people's money you took for no reason

Their fees are now too expensive, and they deliberately make it difficult for you to speak to them on the phone. They avoid customer interaction and focus solely on lining their pockets with our money.

EBay have a tendency to belittle and bully the very people who keep them alive.
Recently they cause me a loss by producing an integrated shipping label with the wrong address. They said that it was my fault and refused any redress. No discussion was possible and complaints are essentially ignored. Everyone has a negative experience to tell about eBay. An exploitative company.

EBay is a platform For scammer

Avoid eBay at all cost, it’s a platform for scammer and for people to buy stuff use it and ask for a refund.
Sold a brand new watch on eBay person come back 2 weeks later then said he wanted to return it as he wanted the receipt and shopping bag, I accomodate the buyer request and ask him to buy a prepaid postage so I can sent it to or collect in person , he refuse and wanted a refund no matter what, the item I listed is non refundable ,so I refused, eBay bizarrely sided with them and gave them a full refund!! I ended up out of pocket!! I will closed my account and would urge others to...no protection with eBay any more and the absolute worst customer service and constant, contradictory lies from their agents/ bot , and you can hardly chat with a live person.
In summary : eBay always sided with buyer no matter what , I am just an ordinary seller that sell thing I don’t want or need.
